One of the best games I played this year. It's charming the way it encourages and fosters community, and how it speaks to the power of creativity and art. I feel more encouraged to take up drawing again after being able to express myself with its simple painting tools, and I loved filling in all the locations with colour. Sadly even on my new PC, the loading times are longer than I would like, there's hiccups during day transitions, and there's no reverse mouse option in the menu. Overall, I'd highly recommend it!
Recommended: Yes "A beautiful, cozy love letter to Montreal. A must-play for art lovers." Été was such a delightful experience. It’s rare to find a game that feels this personal—being able to play it in my native language and see the cultural aspects of Quebec brought to life was a highlight for me. It’s a genuinely cozy, artistic journey that captures the feeling of exploration perfectly. What Works The Joy of Discovery: The exploration mechanic is fantastic. Painting objects, scenery, and landmarks in each section is an incredibly satisfying way to move around, reveal color, and see everything the world has to offer. Cultural Authenticity: The team behind this really captured the essence of Quebec. It’s not just a setting; it’s a living, breathing environment that feels authentic. Creative Freedom: Decorating your apartment and studio is easy, intuitive, and deeply rewarding. It’s one of the best "home-making" systems I’ve played in a cozy game. Strong Narrative: The flow of quests keeps the pace moving and grounds the game in a heartfelt, cozy storyline that kept me engaged from start to finish. What Could Be Better Painting Limitations: While the core loop is fun, there are some restrictions on what and how you can paint. It’s not perfect, and because of those limitations, the novelty can lose a little bit of its luster toward the end of the game. Final Verdict: If you want a relaxing, beautiful, and cultural experience, pick up Été. It’s a unique, painterly adventure that’s well worth the time.
Love this game. It's beautiful & very unique. It's style & watercolor aesthetic are beautiful. Getting to bring color back into the areas is so soothing. It works well for me on my Steam Deck, but I also wanted to play this on my computer on a larger screen to see the details. Wonderful game.
this game was made by a filthy communist. theres the usual: pronouns everywhere. people living in communes romanticizing poverty. you have to make a painting called "eat the rich" all of this disgusting messaging hidden under a thinly vailed colorful design.
A very fun exploration and art game with a nicely paced plot line! The art style is wonderful, the only issue is loading times but it is well worth it!
Relaxing and fun
