Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 20.86/day in the week to Aug 11 → 25.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Esoteric Ebb is an isometric, Disco-like, TTRPG-turned-CRPG set in a bizarre post-Arcanepunk fantasy setting. You are The Cleric, an expert in esoteric events, and a glorified government goon. Inspired by classic CRPG games, Esoteric Ebb features deep and branching dialogs with a staggering amount of choices.
Create the world’s worst cleric. Take on the city through tense TTRPG dice rolls. Struggle to maintain control with your Stats chiming in at every moment. Let the voices guide you into insane encounters and hit that natural 20 right when you need it. Become the most interesting player at the table and completely ruin your DM’s day.
Five days until the first-ever election, a tea shop explodes in the heart of the city. They send you to deal with the mess.
You wake up in a morgue with half the river in your boots, surrounded by ten thousand rotting apples, several corpses, and one zombie. Out of your depth and with no official backup, you delve into your beloved city to investigate the impossible mystery no one wants you to solve. Juggle factions and play them against each other. Explore the streets and tunnels of a fantasy metropolis. Debate devils, drunk sphinxes, and all manner of fantastical fools in a world where mythological creatures sell newspapers at corner shops and ideologies overtake the ramblings of dead gods.

Don’t forget the most important question: What are you voting in the election?
MAKE CHOICES THAT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU. Shifting alliances! Risky dungeoneering! Complete open-ended quests, low and high-stakes alike, set in the streets, towers, and dark tunnels of Norvik. Become the city’s savior, its demise, or bumble your way into absolute power.
TRUST THE DICE. Let chance guide you! Roll to wrestle dwarves, steal anything in sight, or to keep yourself from looking like a complete fool. But remember, in true TTRPG fashion, failure can often be way more interesting.

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD. Debate yourself! Each Ability Stat has a conflicting viewpoint and loves to interrupt important conversations. No matter whose side you fall on, you'll complete quests in wonderfully ridiculous ways.

WIELD REALITY-SHAPING MAGIC. Use The Cleric’s power for unique narrative choices. Control minds for fun and profit. Detect secrets in the tunnels below or in the thoughts of your enemies. Speak with anyone, living or dead, just to see how they insult you.

TURN-BASED ENCOUNTERS. Clerics in Norvik are taught to use violence as a last resort. When the need does arise, a roll of the dice determines life or death. But you always have a bizarre solution to any problem, don’t you?

THE QUESTING TREE. Your quest log, skill tree, and mind map all at once. Each Quest Branch can take root in your mind and alter The Cleric’s playstyle through game-changing feats.

I was drawn by the art style and the D&D theme. While I've played Disco Elysium and I've liked it OK... I didn't expect this game to be so heavily influenced by it. The visual dialogue structure is pretty much a copy of it, which maybe is on me for expecting something unique just inspired by it. It also drags a lot. There is so much pointless dialogue. While it was kind of fun in the start, it started to get annoying pretty fast, because you are stuck in an internal monologue that neither moves the plot nor gives you information. I expected to be able to make choices but, for the time I played, there wasn't much I had any choice in. Perhaps I'll try going back to it after some time when I forget my initial disappointment from what I assumed would be a funny D&D campaign, choose your own adventure type of story/game.
VOICE. This game has an effervescent soul, now it needs voice acting

The game looked fun and definitely hooked me in the beginning. Unfortunately upon reaching the underground area I experience crashes anywhere from instant to a few minutes of gameplay. I have tried a few tips suggested by the community, but no dice. This has made it impossible for me to play or recommend.
Disco Elysium meets D&D. Funny, clever, heartfelt, weird - everything a good campaign should be. I loved my Cleric and his conversations with his Abilities (very Disco Elysium). Molding him into a character was really fun, even when I was indecisive about his path. Snell is great, Ettir is great (and hot). The illustrated visuals are great, the music is great. Just a good, well-written game. My only real gripe is the exhausting amount of text you need to read. I did skip a lot of it, especially the more political stuff, and still managed to understand what was going on and who's who and what I should do. Just SO MUCH READING! But as I said – it's written very well and interesting to read. Most of the time.
Apolitical response...
This game has a TON of amazing worldbuilding and story progression. The characters are crisp and well thought out and the overall feel of the game revolves is decision making. It is very very well put together tbh I wasn't expecting it to as fleshed out as it is I am humbled to the highest degree and look forward to their next game! <3 I rate this game a solid Nat 20 will recommend to all my friends.
i'm having so much fun and i sometimes feel smart with my skillz
The biggest problem with playing this game is constantly comparing it to Disco Elysium. It is remarkably similar and considerably weaker than Disco Elysium at multiple points throughout the playthrough, though this comparison says more about how exceptional Disco Elysium is than it does about any specific critical issues with this game. Having said that, appreciating it on its own terms provides a much more pleasant and enjoyable experience, as it has many unique and interesting mechanics, as well as plenty of great and memorable moments.
the only good version of "what if disco elysium was about a witch trying to find her lost cat in the alps." esoteric ebb has similar mechanics to DE and politics are a major theme of it, but it is a lot lighter and has a more optimistic view of human nature, while still being deeply affecting. also the music is so good that i bought the soundtrack. i mostly played (and finished btw) this game offline when i was on vacation in a place w/out wifi so the hours played isn't accurate.
The game is really fun, it can feel a bit lectury at times but it doesnt happen often. The game is also HEAVY on the dialogue, so if you dont like dialogue focused games this might not be for you. And if you do end up playing the game, make sure not to forget the time of day mechanic as I did. Wasted one and a half days by not doing one of the main story objectives during the correct time of day, which resulted in me also not having time to do some side content.
