good game
Probably the best autobattler I have ever played, and still in early access, kind of crazy when you think about it.
A really fun gladiator autobattler management game. It's closer to a 'football manager' sort of game than some autobattlers out there - no story or quests/missions and no 'runs' or roguelike features, focusing more on leagues and cups and trading gladiators on the market. There's loads of classes, each of which has a bunch of possible skills, giving plenty of replayability to try out different tactics and team combinations. You can assign one gladiator as a player controlled captain, which is a neat feature, or you can leave it to be 100% autobattle. There's fairly extensive behaviour settings to fine tune how the AI players your gladiators (aggression/caution levels, preferred targets, preferred ranges, following an ally, etc). There's technically no win or loss condition, which might bother some people, but between 6 divisions to climb, async pvp, a pve 'tower' to climb, and the ongoing work of perfecting your team, there's plenty of scope for setting your own targets and goals. Also worth noting that in addition to it being a fun game, the developer has high engagement on the forum, quick to respond to questions and suggestions, and indeed implementing fixes and improvements based on player feedback. Exactly how Early Access should be done. The only downsides I can see are: 1) it's perhaps a little difficult to learn the systems/mechanics for a new player - there's some things I only learned from reading player guides rather than in-game tutorials 2) although gladiators get tired/injured and need to take a break for a few matches, there's no retirement or perma death, so once you have your main team and their backups in place there's not much reason to ever replace them, which might make things get a little stale in the long run. That said, I'm 40 hours in and I'm still going back for more, so I'm definitely getting my money's worth before it gets old, and with the rate that new features are being added (in the 2 weeks I've played there's been 3 new classes and a new 'draft' cup added) it should stay fresh for a while.
