About

Erenshor is a single player adventure designed to capture the game play and feeling of an MMORPG. You will meet and group with hundreds of Erenshor's SimPlayers - which are your digital companions who persistently exist in the world, who progress independently, and who will always be ready to group and adventure along side you whenever you're ready.
Players will spend dozens or even hundreds of hours working on their characters. By the time they've reached the end game they'll be carrying godly weapons, long-lost spells, and legendary armor into battle - where they'll be nearly untouchable for all but the most fearsome opponents in Erenshor.

Erenshor is a single player love letter to the early MMORPGs that paved the way for the games we play today. Taking inspiration from the classics of the late 90s and early 00s, Erenshor does not offer quick rewards or hand-holding. Players will get lost, stumble upon deadly foes, and learn hard lessons. The keen adventurer will be rewarded.
Combat is deliberate and deadly. You'll need to consider positioning, strategy, and most importantly: what to do if it all goes wrong.
Your reward will be access to a monster's treasures once it's defeated. Some will drop swords, or armor, or jewels... and if you're lucky, it might have one of it's rare drops in its inventory - all for the taking.
If not - it'll respawn in time, and you'll slay it again for another chance.

Erenshor is built from the ground up to be a single player experience. All of the content, each puzzle, and all game play is hand built and balanced for one player, making Erenshor the only "MMO-Like" that is truly meant to be played alone.
You'll start with nothing, stranded on a small island off the mainland of Erenshor. With persistence, you'll gain power and wealth. Success will not come without failure, but with every party wipe and failed battle you'll gain experience and knowledge to come back and try again.

Partner with our signature Simulated Players to experience all of the content the game has to offer.
These players will level up alongside you (whether you're online or not), they'll find new items on their own and they'll find them with your help. They'll ask for loot drops, they'll buy and sell loot, join and leave guilds, and even invite you to raids as they get to know you. They'll remember you and how you treat them.
The SimPlayers all have their own pre-written personalities and motivations, and their own opinions of you and of the other players. You'll find favorites, and together you'll conquer the world of Erenshor one rare drop at a time.
Grow together as a 'server' in order to defeat Erenshor's toughest opponents... and then leave the realm to challenge the Gods themselves!

You'll hunt monsters, complete quests, and find lost artifacts worth more gold than you could ever wish for. Each upgraded item will bring tangible increases in power, and soon the unwavering foes before you will be pushed aside, revealing a challenge even greater.

NPCs all respawn. You can attack any of them, and they all drop loot. Even the good guys.
Factions exist. Wiping out a town may mean you're no longer welcome there... but it may open up doors elsewhere.
Thousands of unique items, from common drops, to legendary treasure.
Simulated Players: You may get an invitation to join a group of simulated players in slaying a dragon or even a God. The treasures are yours for the taking.
Cities, Dungeons, Tombs, Forests, Beaches, Forts, Meadows, Caves, and Mountain Ranges - a huge world to explore with secrets in every corner.
Lore and Story done your way. Investigate the mysteries of Erenshor, or don't. Kill mindlessly for power, or with direction and purpose.
A World Divided: The game world is divided into separate 'zones'. Areas are unique to themselves, and can be traversed at will - whether you're ready for it or not.
Multiple Character Slots and a shared Bank. Subsequent characters have the option of starting with a massive advantage, including XP bonuses.
No micro transactions. Ever.
*Note that SimPlayers do not use LLM or any other emerging AI model. They are run by a mixture of state machines and decision trees. This means no token fees, and no lapse in service after a certain amount of use.

Graphics: It looks great, specifically in that it aims to recreate the atmosphere of Everquest, and it achieves that. If the screenshots grate on you initially, know that you can adjust the saturation (recommended) and contrast values to suit your taste. I adjusted quickly, and find the surroundings oddly immersive and comforting now. Sound: You're not going to write home about it, but it does exactly what it needs to do. World: This is a love letter to first generation MMOs like Everquest. You might expect cliches and token questlines. But honestly? There is a coherent and complex story unfolding throughout your time in Erenshor, and it's legitimately engaging. The world-building is fully switched on here, with a deep and established lore backdrop that continues to unfold as you progress through the world's zones, and quite a few very nuanced factions at each other's throats. A lot of time, attention, and love was poured into developing this world to feel alive, and it really works. Even if you're not sold on the idea of a single-player simulated MMO, Erenshor is still worth your time. It recreates the atmosphere of first generation MMOs so authentically, with throwback graphics and color schemes and quests that might put you off initially, but if you spend time with it, all of these ingredients melt and combine into something that is honestly pure magic. It's quirky and fun, but beyond that, there is immense depth to be found here. It's lovingly crafted, it feels so cozy, there's an undescribable magic at work here, and it's FUN! Though Erenshor is still in Early Access, it is a feature- and content-complete game already offering criminal value for the price. Development is very active, and very engaging on Discord, and its community is vibrant and incredibly helpful. That there is even more free roadmap content ahead is honestly just unspeakably generous. After the raid update: Ooook. 10/10 This is my Game of the Year. Erenshor has entered the pantheon alongside great games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Final Fantasy Tactics. Burgee, what have you done. It's beautiful.

This game has no rights being as good as it is. This “fake” MMO is better than most real MMO’s release nowadays. I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought Erenshor, but it completely surprised me. The first thing that got me was the fake login screen. Then the guild invites started, the chat channels came to life, people were talking, asking for groups, joking around, and it honestly felt like I had logged into an MMO back in the early 2000s. The weird part is that none of them are real people. You can group up, raid, make friends, and adventure with your SimPlayers. They remember things, they chat with you, and after a while you stop thinking of them as NPCs. I actually caught myself having conversations in guild chat and laughing at some of the responses. At one point I had to stop and ask myself, "Is there something wrong with me?" Apparently not, because that just means the game is doing its job. If you grew up playing EverQuest, Asheron's Call, or other old-school MMOs, Erenshor somehow captures that feeling of logging into a living world without needing other players online. It's nostalgic without feeling like a copy of anything. This game has way more heart than I expected. It's one of those games that's hard to explain until you actually play it. If you've ever wished you could experience that old MMO feeling again, but on your own schedule, give Erenshor a shot. I honestly can't recommend it enough.
Great concept, absolutely horrible execution.
11/10 if you like classic Everquest, and you have a baseline of "mildly annoyed" with humanity.
the early game is so clunky, and classes all feel too similar
So much fun. Especially good for people who want to play mmorpg but want to avoid dealing with people and stress of being a bad player.
It has the same feel as an old MMO. It's like EverQuest, but I don't have to expend social energy or block off time from my schedule to group with other people. It's honestly pretty wonderful. It's clunky, and could use some serious polish when it comes to gameplay and environments. It's early access, that's hardly surprising. The camera and hotbars controls are a little clunky, and the UI has some weird quirks, like how you move items to a trash slot rather than drop or delete them. Honestly, the bit of jank and polish becomes second nature at some point. I can't tell if that's supposed to be part of the experience or not. Either way, it's working. If you like those older MMOs and how they played, I recommend checking it out.
In the Age of dying MMOs this is really a great game. It feels really Old school and the world feels alive. There are Quests but you do not have to do them and just grind your way. The bots are not just there to help the Player, some are rude, kill your mobs and such. Now that there are even Raids this game really feels like a cool Offline MMO. I really hope we will see much more from the Dev but even at this stage you look at 100+ Hours of content. Play the Demo and see for yourself if you like this kind of MMO
This game is nothing short of exactly what the game is. It does all the things it does, and then some. I'm leaving this review to tell you the game is very good at being the game that it SHOULD be being, and does very poorly at being the exact game it doesn't wish to be. I would play this game. And I have. And so should you. All of you in the Discord, you're cute and I love you.
It's funny when the simulated players are screaming "Laaaag!!!!" in chat and, for a second, you forget you're in a single player game.
