About

Erenshor is a single player adventure designed to capture the game play and feeling of an MMORPG. You will meet and group with hundreds of Erenshor's SimPlayers - which are your digital companions who persistently exist in the world, who progress independently, and who will always be ready to group and adventure along side you whenever you're ready.
Players will spend dozens or even hundreds of hours working on their characters. By the time they've reached the end game they'll be carrying godly weapons, long-lost spells, and legendary armor into battle - where they'll be nearly untouchable for all but the most fearsome opponents in Erenshor.

Erenshor is a single player love letter to the early MMORPGs that paved the way for the games we play today. Taking inspiration from the classics of the late 90s and early 00s, Erenshor does not offer quick rewards or hand-holding. Players will get lost, stumble upon deadly foes, and learn hard lessons. The keen adventurer will be rewarded.
Combat is deliberate and deadly. You'll need to consider positioning, strategy, and most importantly: what to do if it all goes wrong.
Your reward will be access to a monster's treasures once it's defeated. Some will drop swords, or armor, or jewels... and if you're lucky, it might have one of it's rare drops in its inventory - all for the taking.
If not - it'll respawn in time, and you'll slay it again for another chance.

Erenshor is built from the ground up to be a single player experience. All of the content, each puzzle, and all game play is hand built and balanced for one player, making Erenshor the only "MMO-Like" that is truly meant to be played alone.
You'll start with nothing, stranded on a small island off the mainland of Erenshor. With persistence, you'll gain power and wealth. Success will not come without failure, but with every party wipe and failed battle you'll gain experience and knowledge to come back and try again.

Partner with our signature Simulated Players to experience all of the content the game has to offer.
These players will level up alongside you (whether you're online or not), they'll find new items on their own and they'll find them with your help. They'll ask for loot drops, they'll buy and sell loot, join and leave guilds, and even invite you to raids as they get to know you. They'll remember you and how you treat them.
The SimPlayers all have their own pre-written personalities and motivations, and their own opinions of you and of the other players. You'll find favorites, and together you'll conquer the world of Erenshor one rare drop at a time.
Grow together as a 'server' in order to defeat Erenshor's toughest opponents... and then leave the realm to challenge the Gods themselves!

You'll hunt monsters, complete quests, and find lost artifacts worth more gold than you could ever wish for. Each upgraded item will bring tangible increases in power, and soon the unwavering foes before you will be pushed aside, revealing a challenge even greater.

NPCs all respawn. You can attack any of them, and they all drop loot. Even the good guys.
Factions exist. Wiping out a town may mean you're no longer welcome there... but it may open up doors elsewhere.
Thousands of unique items, from common drops, to legendary treasure.
Simulated Players: You may get an invitation to join a group of simulated players in slaying a dragon or even a God. The treasures are yours for the taking.
Cities, Dungeons, Tombs, Forests, Beaches, Forts, Meadows, Caves, and Mountain Ranges - a huge world to explore with secrets in every corner.
Lore and Story done your way. Investigate the mysteries of Erenshor, or don't. Kill mindlessly for power, or with direction and purpose.
A World Divided: The game world is divided into separate 'zones'. Areas are unique to themselves, and can be traversed at will - whether you're ready for it or not.
Multiple Character Slots and a shared Bank. Subsequent characters have the option of starting with a massive advantage, including XP bonuses.
No micro transactions. Ever.
*Note that SimPlayers do not use LLM or any other emerging AI model. They are run by a mixture of state machines and decision trees. This means no token fees, and no lapse in service after a certain amount of use.

Reviews
great game, great mock mmorpg
Short "turbo" version: Awesome game. Highly recommended. The longer version: I have absolutely enjoyed Erenshor. It's an amazing gaming experience, and this review probably can't do justice to how much fun I've had in 200+ hours so far. At its core, it's a single-player MMO populated by SimPlayers. A server full of hundreds of simplayer doing their thing around you. There are absolutely echoes of EverQuest and WoW, but here you get to experience that kind of world entirely at your own pace. What has impressed me most is how naturally the scope of the game grows around you. There are so many arcs of progression: learning your class, mastering new and existing mechanics, improving your character and equipment, building a team of regular SimPlayer adventurers, managing / improving a group of regulars, and eventually taking responsibility for an entire guild and raid force. The demo/starter island is really just a taste of what's ahead. As you venture out into the larger world, some of those SimPlayer names you initially barely notice start becoming familiar companions. You quickly graduate from solo play to calling on SimPlayers to form groups. They interact, they chat, they grow—but over time it becomes less about simply filling group slots and more about calling on proven and familiar companion names to adventure with you. Zephyrion, Dancer, Vortexius, Lunastra, these became my regulars (the names are assigned differently for every game owner)... in the end most often our merry band consisted of me (a Druid), a Pally, a Windblade, an Arcanist, and a Stormcaller went on so many adventures together. Eventually, you actively invest in their growth. They become extensions of your own character and progression. You're no longer just managing yourself; you're proactively contributing to the strength and success of the entire group. The gameplay mechanics evolve in much the same way. Things that are relatively forgiving at earlier levels become increasingly important as you progress, requiring you to actually understand and master them. Once you leave the starting area, the world really opens up, with quests, zones, equipment and adventures everywhere. Mechanics you may have taken for granted earlier suddenly become important tools that you need to understand and use to your advantage. Over time and across many arcs of adventures, there is a lot of layers to learn about your class, auras, proficiencies, equipment upgrades, strategic loot distribution, group composition and more—but it happens through very natural arcs of progression. The game doesn't just suddenly demand that you understand everything. It gives you reasons to learn and you feel the satisfaction of mastering these mechanics in order overcome the next challenges. It's just like having tools in your toolbox and learning to use them better than you needed to before. And the focus gradually shifts. Early on, you're primarily concerned with making your own character stronger. Later, you're thinking about how to make yourself and your companions stronger. By the time you're tackling high-end bosses, you're thinking about the success of the group as a whole and what you can proactively do to improve it. The recent raid content takes that progression another step further. Now you have a guild hall. You're thinking about strategic group composition, skills and equipment upgrades for 15+ SimPlayers, and figuring out how to turn all of those individual characters into a force capable of taking down raid zones and raid bosses. The pacing of that progression is excellent. Erenshor has become one of my favorite purchases on Steam—and I have a pretty deep library. I also want to thank the developer for having the vision to make something like this a reality. I had a young family back in the days of EverQuest and WoW. I loved grouping and adventuring, but because of the time and scheduling commitments, I could never really participate in raiding and some of the other high-end MMO experiences. Erenshor has given me a nostalgic—and incredibly fun—chance to finally work toward that experience and learn the mechanics and strategies needed to succeed, without having to organize my life around an MMO schedule. My druid and I have been through a lot together. We've conquered everything available so far, and we're looking forward to whatever comes next. Well, again.. It all comes back to the short version of my review. Awesome game. Highly recommended. Thank you for a fantastic gaming experience.

Having a blast with all my AI friends!
This game is awesome. Consistent updates. Funny interactions. Fresh take on the MMORPG genre. There is so much to learn, see, and experience from leveling up, doing the quests, pushing the limits of puzzles, bosses, and other standard MMO mechanics but under a completely new lens. The developer is always available in their discord. Answers questions. The new raid content they dropped is absolutely over the top. I cant wait to see what else they come up with! Swear in game, do it, its hillarious.
I was not expecting this to be as in depth as it is. I have fallen in love with this interconnected world that captures an essential MMO experience without all the hamster wheels I find in current MMOs. The game isn't trying to keep you playing for a billion hours. Its simple and charming in presentation. You must learn about the world to engage with it. The person making this game clearly loves MMOs and accentuates the best parts of them. It feels like Guild Wars 1 sometimes, sometimes Everquest, sometimes WoW but never any of the negatives of those games. I really enjoy making a party and building a guild. I like the bits of programmed personality here such as the guildies and world talking to each other and giving hints or advice! and sometimes that's how you learn about the stuff in the world! from the lore to the jerks in Friend's Club there is a lot to love here and you just have to play to find it! I dont think everyone will be into this but I think we live in a time where MMOs are becoming more and more single player experiences and I think this is an example of alternative to that that respects your time!
First this isn't a MMO, but it is a MMO experience with all the SIM players. Erenshor is a solid EA game that you get your money's worth and then some. There is lots of content and the dev doesn't seem to be slowing down. Yes only a handful of classes and no race selection. I originally purchased, refunded and then purchased again. I am glad i stuck it out. There is a WIKI and a mod was made that can help you in game with quest.
This game is fun and engaging.
