It's really just EBF4 but even better. If you like the EBF franchise, definitely check it out. If you haven't tried it yet, I would recommend you do. What makes EBF special compared to other RPGs is that on one hand it's very light-hearted, with good comedy that doesn't take itself seriously at all, but on the other hand it has a very extensive and interesting combat system, featuring lots of skills, summons, armor sets, status effects, weaknesses etc. Both the gameplay and the comedy are very fun in my opinion, and either of those would be enough reason to play it. If you play RPGs mainly for a serious story, that's the one reason I wouldn't recommend this game, it's just not the point. It's more of a parody as far as the story and characters go. Don't think that means it can't have seriously good gameplay though. If you decide to check it out, I'd recommend starting with EBF3 and EBF4. Not because they're really necessary to understand this game, but they're very fun in their own right and it's nice to see the game improve over time with every new version. It's probably perfectly fine to start with this one as well though. EBF1+2 don't hold up well compared to the newer games, so I'd recommend skipping those when experiencing the series for the first time.

As a person who grew up playing flash games, this game manages to encaptulate the feeling of playing a flash game (especially considering this series started out as one) whilst expanding on the admitedly shallow gameplay that most flash games had. But besides the nostalgia factor, every aspect of this game (Gameplay, Music, Graphics & others) have been executed to near perfection. While the game does have some minor optimization problems, they are nowhere near enough to ruin the experience, and are nitpicks at most.

Wow, where do I begin? So, I initially picked up this game on a whim. I usually get my games on sale so I saw at with a very reasonable rice, I think around $15 and decided to pick it up. I've always been an RPG fan with my favorites being the older Final Fantasy titles but I was surprisingly blown away by the sheer amount of content and passion poured into this game. I wasn't privy to the franchise before this installment (lol my bad, even though I loved flash games as a kid), but I quickly fell in love with the upgrade system, equipment, side quests, boss encounters, and the witty dialogue. Personally, my favorite mechanic would have to be the ability to swap party members at any given time during a fight. I have never experienced this in an RPG before, but honestly, I will miss it since it made each character feel integral to winning, especially given the unique builds and skills that you could pair along with them. I recommend playing this game casually and if you are up for the challenge, try it on EPIC. It really tested my knowledge of the game mechanics and felt satisfying to complete each trial and tribulation.
