About
Energy Fighters is a fast-paced side-scrolling arcade shooter built around reactive combat, polarity-based survival, and tactical counterattacks.
Enemy fire is not always a threat.
Use your ship’s polarity shield to absorb matching enemy attacks, restore health, traverse dangerous energy barriers, and turn overwhelming assaults into opportunities for survival.
Deflect incoming projectiles, manage enemy pressure from multiple directions, and unleash devastating firepower as the battlefield descends into chaos.
Energy Fighters transforms enemy attacks into a core part of the gameplay experience.
Matching enemy fire with your current polarity allows you to:
Absorb incoming projectiles
Recover lost health
Safely pass through matching energy barriers
Survive overwhelming enemy assaults
Create opportunities for aggressive counterattacks
Choosing the wrong polarity at the wrong moment can quickly become fatal.
Survival depends on far more than simple dodging.
Players must constantly react to rapidly changing combat situations while balancing:
Offensive positioning
Defensive shielding
Enemy projectile management
Front and rear attack directions
Split-second polarity decisions
As enemy attacks intensify, maintaining control becomes increasingly difficult.
Perfectly timed defensive play allows players to deflect incoming enemy projectiles back toward enemy forces.
Turn enemy fire into a weapon:
Redirect attacks toward hostile targets
Clear dangerous combat zones
Create openings during intense enemy pressure
Chain defensive reactions into devastating counterattacks
Mastering deflection mechanics becomes essential for survival during later stages.
Unique polarity-based combat system
Absorb matching enemy projectiles to survive
Deflect incoming attacks back at enemies
Front and rear directional weapon systems
Traverse dangerous energy barriers using matching polarity
Fast-paced side-scrolling arcade gameplay
Intense enemy waves and escalating combat pressure
Explosive boss encounters
Local co-op multiplayer support
Classic arcade-inspired sci-fi action
Skill-based gameplay focused on reaction speed and tactical awareness
Fight alongside another player in local co-op and survive increasingly chaotic battlefield encounters together.
Coordinate defensive shielding, manage enemy pressure from multiple directions, and support each other during overwhelming combat situations.
Co-op transforms every battle into a frantic test of teamwork, positioning, and survival.
Energy Fighters is built around constant combat escalation.
Enemy waves become larger, projectile patterns more dangerous, and reaction windows increasingly unforgiving.
Success requires:
Rapid decision making
Precise movement
Tactical shielding
Efficient counterattacks
Complete battlefield awareness
One mistake can quickly spiral into total chaos.
Energy Fighters combines classic arcade shooter intensity with modern reactive combat mechanics built around absorption, deflection, and polarity management.
Survive impossible odds, master defensive counterplay, and transform enemy attacks into your greatest weapon.

The game has a Gradius style upgrade system with a bit of StarFox (rolling deflections) and Ikaruka (polarity shielding) thrown in for good measure. The controls and mechanics take a little while to get into and it took me an age to figure out how to upgrade / shield and deflect to a point that i could actually beat the first level. It is worth sticking and you do start to feel like a bad-ass mowing down enemies once your ship is powered up. Played for just over an hour and i'm enjoying it more the more i play (and get better i guess). It's not an easy game and using your smart bombs is necessary to take down the bosses quickly (but it does drain half your health bar and you then need to shield absorb to replenish health). Not quite a bullet hell shooter but this does feel like Life Force with updated graphics and clever mechanics. Gameplay requires strategy once you start advancing and it takes a while to remember you can switch fire directions to shoot backward too. I bet once i get good enough this game will have some serious replay value. Voice acting is OK but laughable at times (clearly AI voiced) but the overall quality of the game is solid. Online leaderboards are there to keep hardcore score chasers happy also. I'm on level 4 now and already top 5 in the leaderboard. Overall a decent game for the price of a subway sandwich!
Fairly slow starting gradius / lifeforce style shooter. Takes a little while to get used to the mechanics of switching fire direction and deflecting shots but once you get to the second level you start to get into it. It's a very decent shooter for the price, not sure about the AI voice acting but the overall presentation and game is pretty good.
Great little indie game if you like side scrolling space shooters this is a must have. old school game very challenging 10/10
Slow paced gradius style shooter that really finds its stride from level 4 onwards. The graphics are OK for the first few levels and they improve as the game goes on. Voice acting is pretty bad but then remembering this is clearly early AI it can be almost forgiven. Once you power your ship up it gets much easier and you do feel very powerful. A decent side scrolling shmup.

Excellent gradius style shooter with decent voice acting and presentation
This is a great Gradius style indie game. It's slow paced but gets quite deep once you start using the shields etc to absorb shots and recharge your health. Good game!
Retro inspired arcade shooting action with good controls and a starfox like parry technique. Takes a while to used to shielding and its not infinite. Works a little like the smash brothers shields which is pretty cool. If your shield gets small you will take damage and then you need to cool off shielding for a few seconds. Overall a really good indie shoot em up
This game has a power up system similar to Life Force / Gradius. The AI voice acting is janky at times but it does help the atmosphere of the game. You need to get used to the shielding and rolling mechanics to even stand a chance beating the first level and in later levels switching your shot direction becomes more important. Overall a good shooter which rewards perseverance. Highly recommended for the price.
Great horizontal shooter that allows you to power up like Gradius and Lifeforce. Slow starting and the ship feels sluggish at first but once the power ups start stacking it starts to feel pretty good.
