About
Endless RPG is a random map and adventure generator for Dungeons and Dragons 2024 and 5e. It is intended as a toolkit for solo play D&D as well as an aid for dungeon masters.
This random map generator is not a game. It is a tool for playing tabletop pen-and-paper role-playing games (TTRPG). Endless RPG allows you to play solo DnD or quickly create maps and encounters. It does not perform combat or resolve challenges. Instead, the player reports back their failure or success.
Supports D&D 2024 including the Monster Manual 2025. Also includes support for 5e as a primary system and as an expansion to D&D 2024.
Over 200 monster groups (orc, goblin, drow, etc.) including advanced groups that can level in a class (orc wizard, goblin thief, drow monk).
Encounter variety includes itemization (even magical items) and augments that can range from being bigger or stronger to being a 7-legged spider or having more potent venom
Create random dungeons, caves, ruins, crypts, tombs, strongholds, keeps, etc. Maps can have additional themes such as being mystic, unholy, military, in ruins, or abandoned
Custom maps allow you to specify a primary, secondary, and a boss enemy, so you can have a necromancer raising a group of skeletons to bully orcs into searching a cavern for treasure
Custom encounter mode skips the map to just roll custom encounters/treasure
Quick missions will roll up a map with a random enemy in a random location
Quick Battle and Battle Map modes for helping with combat.
*** PLAY D&D SOLO OR IN A GROUP WITHOUT A DM ***
The primary focus of Endless RPG is solo players looking for a tool that will help them play DnD alone. It is also designed for small groups that do not have a dedicated Dungeon Master but still want to go on fun adventures.
Maps are explored through a fog-of-war discovery system with encounters, traps, tricks, and treasures displayed as you encounter them. This is perfect for solo play or groups without a DM as you will get no hints of what is behind the next door. (Unless you cast Clairvoyance!)
Custom Dungeons allow you to pick the CR level, environment (dungeon, cave, etc.), primary and secondary enemies (orcs, undead, demons, etc.), and an overall difficulty level. Map types can also have themes such as mystic, unholy, military, etc. These themes can even affect the types of creatures found within: a mystic tower with mercenaries may hold some conjurers summoning demons while a military tower might be lighter on the use of magic.
You can also choose Quick Mission for a random location and enemy groups.
Want to use your own solo tools?
You can also use Endless RPG in encounter mode, which lets you roll up encounters and treasure without the need for a map. This gives you access to advanced monster groups that are both leveled in a class and equipped with weapons and armor. The creatures found can also have common or unusual modifiers such as being sick or injured, being a huge version or having more potent poison that does additional damage.
*** RANDOM ENCOUNTERS, TREASURES, TRICKS, TRAPS AND WINDOW DRESSINGS ***
What would exploring be without some treasure and traps? Endless RPG supports multiple expansions that add to both encounters and treasures that can be found on the random map. And beyond treasures, encounters and traps, there are various other obstacles to overcome from a mud-drenched cave floor to a cursed temple.
*** QUICK BATTLE AND BATTLE MAPS FOR COMBAT MANAGEMENT***
While Endless RPG is not intended to replace your favorite combat management app, it does have a few management tools in place to use as aids. The app will help keep track of hit points at all times while you are adventuring. When dealing with encounters, you can also choose to use a Quick Combat screen, which tracks initiative and hit points or all combatants, or a Battle Map, which also tracks where combatants are in relation to each other.

It'd pretty clear on the Store Page that this is a tabletop simulator kinda deal. It's basically a monster and treasure generator with some basic VT functions. Nothing fancy. I do really wish I could pan the map somehow, but otherwise, it does a half decent job of giving a bit of a 'rogue-like' feel to D&D. I hope to see it gain some new features in the future.
Don't go into this expecting a lot. It does exactly what it says on the tin, it will generate a random map and populate it. You can use it to run characters through, but this has no interface for the major gameplay elements of which ever TTRPG you are using it for. While it specifies D&D 5e, I imagine it will work for most any TTRPG with little adaptation, as the characters only hold four values that are fairly universal to most TTRPGs: Level, HP, Perception, and Initiative. You will just need to look up stats appropriate to the RPG of your choice. And as such, you will still need outside character sheets to manage your characters. This program is essentially a game mat and not much else. Note: These are just my first impressions. I thought I had characters ready, but GDrive ate them. Gonna give it a better try once I make more.
This game is a little over a month old at the time of writing this. Honestly, it feels like a game that's about a month old. It is pretty bare-bones, and does not support a lot of the nuances of adventuring. However, that's okay. The game shows a lot of promise, and I'm excited to see where it goes in the future. Some notes: -Other reviewers have stated that there is no way to pan the camera. There is, but it's not intuitive. If you click the edge of the map, the camera moves in that direction. -The movement is not very pleasant, though it has its charm. When you decide on a path for your character to take, there is a slow movement 'animation' wherein your token moves one square at a time. Furthermore, there is no way (that I have found) to get your characters to split up. If you enter a dungeon with more than one character, they all group up and can't be separated. -The combat is the most well-designed aspect of this program. You can choose between either A) a 'quick combat,' where it just lists the initiative order so you can roll to attack repeatedly, or B) a battle map, which is more in-depth and allows each token to move around the board. The complaint I have with this is that the tokens do not remain where they were at the end of the combat when you exit combat mode. -The exploration leaves a little to be desired. The random dungeon tiles are all well and good (and I understand that one can only program so much into a game), but it would be interesting to see some mad-lib style events and locations. The dungeon introductions are neat, though I don't know if they're procedurally generated or just pre-written. -Continuing on the exploration, there is no way to actually investigate anything. It tells you that you are "considered searching while moving," but I haven't seen anything result from that yet. One character did notice a trap on a door, but that was it. It would be cool for these dungeons to have other interactions besides fighting in them. Overall, I would be comfortable spending $3 on this game in its current state. It is a simple random dungeon generator that allows you to move tokens around, fight monsters, and track hit points and treasure. However, as its creators (hopefully) continue to work on it and add features, I'm sure that its value will increase.
Not good in a bad and dumb kind of way. Maybe it will improve? The interface is bad, even for a mobile port. The randomly generated map often just end in abrupt cutoffs of illustration. No walls, no dead end, just black where the generator said no more. The menu options don't reset to a launch menu so every option has a termination selection within it. It's almost like it doesn't want you to play around with settings. It exports to appdata and it's not a pretty process . You can take a screenshot for more ease of use.
Very basic, and the interface is sort of clunky, but this is one of the only resources on the market that will actually let you play solo D&D. It was a nice comfort during a very long quarantine. Don't expect much, but if you want a completely random dungeon with built in map support to throw at your party on a pick up game, or if you were like me and desperately wanting some solo D&D support, this has it. It uses the CR rating and monster manuals from D&D 5e, but with some leg work it would probably work just fine for other fantasy TTRPGs.
This is a simple yet useful tool for dungeon crawls. Changes I'd like to see: - Ability to mark enemies with status conditions - Token sizes for "Large" and bigger creatures. - AC input for Player Characters. - Grid template for casting spells (eg Fireball 20ft radius sphere).
Good product but can definitely improve in a few areas with the UI and controls. Great for enjoying some DnD with a buddy when you can't find a DM and just want to slay some baddies. Highly recommend if you're a DnD nerd. Also an extremely reasonable price at just 5 dollars.
Very basic but just perfect for my needs. Can build a map and export it in map tool VTT in a few seconds and cherry on the cake you can simply build VBL from the black color of the exported map! Simple steps: Build a map in endless RPG and use the view all map option to build a png in user folder. Resize the png at 98% and then extend its borders (for walls VBL) by 60px in all directions using black color and save as png (less than 60s in photoshop) Drag as background in map tool with a 60px grid size and build VBL from token topology using the black color as reference. Done! Edit 2025: nice addition wit the encounter generator ;) happy to still see updates after all this time!
It does what it says it does. It's nothing special and certainly isn't a marvel of modern programming, but it does generate maps and it's cheap (I got it for $3.50). The camera movement is clunky and definitely needs improvement. If they ever get the camera fixed, I'd consider it a steal at $5.
El programa funciona y hace lo que promete, aunque necesita algunos arreglos en el tema de agregar objetos o mover la cámara. Se beneficiaría mucho de la Workshop.
