Drakkon World Builder

Edit 2: You can now edit and move Points of Interest. This tool is now essentially everything I need it to be for the purposes of map-based worldbuilding. Edit 3: It's definitely a world builder. It's even a dungeoncrawl builder, like oldschool doom. There's only one other program on steam as simple as this one to make those tunnel-cell maps and it's $80 Edit 4: This is such a good campaign manager. I have all my locations with all the notes I need in each one. I don't need three programs to do it and I don't need to use html or ascii just to leave a note. It's not bad as a random generator but there are free tools that are better at map generation at this time. It's definitely not a builder. The worlds it randomly generates are not impressive in any way. The useful thing is the fillable notes. Instead of using a subscription service or having to annotate in GIMP. Honestly, I would prefer being able to upload my own map with realistic landmasses and then have this program generate POI's and towns on top of it so I can store it in here. No cloud saves on this yet though, which would be pretty helpful for gaming. It has some neat features but, not ready now unless you only run one shots, your group has low expectations of your materials, your game setting does not include a geographically realistic landmass. I hopped onto the discord to check out the road map and it includes modding which is enough to make me buy it in order to support the development. We tabletop gamers need to support these small studio projects now that everything is conglomerating and getting bought up under big IPS and merging into fewer and fewer points of content delivery. It's 3 bucks. I'm not your dad. Decide for yourself.

Simple and easy to use. Map and location info generation is good. The dice seemed fine but didn't use it all that much. I really liked the helpers tab but I wish there was more options in certain categories like crime in particular. Same with the Oracle, I wish there was more options. Overall, I really enjoyed this world builder. Its quick and easy and doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of money nor take a annoyingly large amount of time to set up.

This was a great find. It's an RPG helper that can be used for solo TTRPG play. There's a random map generator, dungeon generator, oracle, dice roller, notes, combat tracker, even a spotlight to put on the map to hide everything around the PC's current POV. You'll want to save often; for me (on Linux) it was crashing randomly when hitting the 'W' key, and on startup unless I immediately click on the "Load" icon in the top UI. A way to resize windows or have it so the extra modules don't encroach on the map window itself would be an improvement, as would saving the state of windows like zoom and spotlight levels so it resumes where it left off when you load it. And the ability to type in "8d12" or use weird DCC dice like d7, d16, d24, d30, etc. would be cool. Even a random city/town layout generator would fill in the toolbox. For the price, it's a must-have if you need a quick map mock-up or tracker for your campaign, or if you want to solo, there's every random generator you'll need in here. It's a customizable Donjon with a GUI.

I would like if this program allowed easier one button POI creation. Also, ones it randomly generates You can't easily add POI or even have same formatting if you try. For time being, in its early access can't fault it for its random generation but it's image generation has more to be desired.

Straight forward and easy to navigate, especially for a newer player. It's simple but in-depth, highly customizable and packed with helpful features. You can just use to it generate a world-map, or it can virtually write the entire campaign itself. The oracle and helpers menus make any aspiring DM's lives much easier. Extremely fair price, considering how many features are jam packed into it, and the general high quality of the program.

As someone who is trying to get into D&D this is so helpful. Not only Drakken but all of the games wraith is making are so much fun and entertaining. Keep up the good work wraith :) -Dobson

Overall Rating: 8/10, While Drakkon is a bit unfinished and can be rough around the edges, it is an incredibly versatile and useful tool. Good Things About Drakkon: 1. Oracles and helpers for randomly generated solo campaigns. 2. A database and note pad. 3. A dedicated developer who updates the game somewhat regularly. 4. An in-depth system for keeping track of POIs and associated Dungeons and NPCs 5. Way beyond enough bang for your buck at just $3 sometimes going on sale for around $2.50 Mixed things about Drakkon 1. I believe the developer mentioned adding an overlay for different countries which is really the last major thing I need, but this isn't in the game yet so you will have to make due some other way 2. There are many different POI sprites but you have to put the POI type at the end of its name if you want a specific sprite, except for cities and towns (i.e. Blue Chapel Monument or Millitary Base Camp). I wish it was linked to something in with the adjectives, NPCs, government etc. Bad Things About Drakkon: 1. The application can close randomly if you press certain keys while not in a text box (I know that this happens if you press W but I think that there is at least one more I haen't found yet), so remember to save often. 2. The database can only be added to through simple file editing. 3. Though the developer added moddable tilesets, the base set is still lackluster, missing snow, stone, etc.

Very limited features, less of a tool or game more of a simplistic generator you'd expect to find on the web for free.

i absolutely love this app. Its an amazing tool for creating maps for potential games or maybe even some form of board game. This app can also be used to just toy around with and have fun. Overall i've had a very positive experience so far.

Great world builder at a highly affordable price. Takes a lot of the mundane tasks for a pick up ttrpg game (NPC generation, town names, locations) which makes it easier to creatively fill in the gaps. Like the adventure hooks too, really helps along early questing at the low levels before it hooks into something bigger. The oracle is a nice addition as well. Some nice to haves are there like the dice roller and notes. There's things that would be more convenient, like auto generating NPCs for different ttrpgs, but there's a bunch of tools for that out there.
