A game about building emulators! Implement your own NEEES core in JavaScript, get instant feedback with unit/video tests, build the graphics unit in real time, learn 6502 assembly, debug test ROMs, and have fun with the included homebrew games!
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
In the year 32767, the world suffered a massive cyber attack which destroyed the entire Internet. Since then, you and an online friend are trying to understand the sparse pieces of documentation about the NEEES, an ancient game console released in 1983. With your programming skills, you'll have to build an emulator that runs those old games, helping preserve video game history.

this game is so awesome! Became my evening hobby. When I finish it, I'd be down to purchase supporter pack and looking forward for upcoming platforms to emulate. Highly recommend!
If you don't already know what you're doing, don't even bother. The "tutorial" is convoluted and incredibly frustrating.

Great game for learning development, programming in assembly, and how computers interpret machine code. I've been really enjoying it. It is incredibly challenging and you will get frustrated playing it even if you have programming experience, but it's also very rewarding.
This is a great tutorial/game and I'm thoroughly enjoying working through it. I've tried taking on "larger" personal projects, including a basic nes emulator, and always get overwhelmed. I'm still working on breaking tasks into smaller pieces to be able to overcome, and this has helped a lot! If you're at all interested in the technical aspect of emulators, emulator development, coding, etc, I would absolutely recommend playing this.
fantastic! emulators are a really fun project, and emudevz does a great job of giving you a scaffold to work within such that you can actually see your progress. the games you emulate get more correct as you move through the implementation, rather than just having a black screen for 80% of the project until the very end when everything finally works. it asks a lot of you, but in return you'll learn a ton. highly recommended!
Annoying dialogue plaguing what could've been a fun game.
