Embraced by Autumn is a very good visual novel game with a beautiful story. The graphics are nice and the soundtrack is relaxing... The ebi-hime games are really great!!! I highly recommend it. 💗
The first part of the game gave me heartburn from being in an uncomfortably similar position as Marcel, and the rest of the game gave me extremely sudden body dysmorphia.
Well that was pretty bad, i get that the story is a bit negative but hearing it over and over again gets old really fast. We get it, you are a negative thinking boy, and then there is the lack of choices and the sudden ending after picking one of the four girls. This visual novel feels unfinished and i just could not get my self to like the main character, so far i have finished one of the four endings and i will do the others as maybe one of them will be more fleshed out then the one i just finished with Mirabel. At the moment this is about a 4 hour half finished story that goes nowhere, a kinetic novel. I naturally hate kinetic novels by default but i hate unfinished stories even more, i would not recommend this.

What I liked: - short but substantial storylines; easily finished in ~3-4 hours each - gender-nonconforming protagonist is a breath of fresh air, with a lot of relatable ambivalence/ambiguity - it includes Sigmund Freud as a cultural touchstone for the time period, but also pokes fun at him - music! What to keep in mind before buying - it has four storylines, but is otherwise kinetic; if having essentially no choices is a dealbreaker for you, look elsewhere (review based on playing through 2 of 4 storylines and about half of a third so far)
Mirabel, my beloved!
This isn't a vn I would have normally picked up as I don't like the trope. However the mc is actually quite likeable, and has his own issues around gender (he definitely reads as nb), and the whole setup doesn't feel fetishy at all. If you read any older boarding school settings, the vn is very reminiscent of those. As of writing this I only read one route (Claudine) and I enjoyed it a lot.
This was the start of my rabbit hole into the wonderful ebi-himes catalogue and being an alterate inspired however you want to say retelling of one of my more liked books it drew me in and made my imagination run wild. It broke my heart mended it. I'd love a sequel or another sapphic tale in this world. Also Celine path was my favourite/first path since i tried to get into the mindset of Marcelle.
Another beautiful, cute and wholesome read. Thank you Ebi for your time and effort with all of this. As always your writing is amazing, and the music and artwork is also top notch. 100% recommend without a doubt.
this is a good lesbian story,i like femboy🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️,and i need Chinese translate😭😭😭 this is definitely a lesbian story, although Marcille is portrayed as a male, but Marcille is really a complete translesbian,Marcille really is so feminine that there is absolutely no trace of masculinity in Maceille,i love this story so much that i spend many days reading it using Google translate(i cant read English text easily) finally,i have finished reading this VN and saw the postscript, i really appreciate that the author ebi-hime defined the main character Marcelle as an Enby, rather than emphasizing that they is a male (this type of VN from japan usually emphasizes that the protagonist's nature is still fundamentally different from that of women and is still a male) , and i learned that this VN is based on a French novel written a hundred years ago that contains lesbian elements (even though i have never read it before, and i doubt if there is a chinese translation of this ancient novel) , all of the above makes me feel that this visual novel has a literary value that is inconsistent with its sales.
