About
Discover the next chapter of the legendary Elite saga. Elite Dangerous is the definitive massively multiplayer space epic, bringing gaming’s original 1984 open world adventure to the modern generation with a seamless, connected galaxy, a player‑shaped evolving narrative, and the entire Milky Way recreated at full galactic scale.
Against this vast backdrop, take to the stars in your own starship and do whatever it takes to survive in an ever-changing futuristic galactic sandbox. Acquire wealth and power, develop your skills and knowledge, and earn the right to stand tall among the ranks of the iconic Elite.
In an age of galactic superpowers and interstellar war, your story influences the connected experience and handcrafted evolving narrative. From discovering new worlds, to exhilarating space combat and a fully-realised economy for trade, the galaxy is waiting.

The 400-billion star systems of the Milky Way form the vast and dynamic stage for Elite Dangerous' open-ended gameplay. Constructed using real astronomical data, the stars, planets, moons, asteroid belts, and black holes of our galaxy are rendered at true galactic scale. Chart a course through star systems never before visited by other Commanders and explore the surface of strange and unfamiliar worlds with a Surface Recon Vehicle.

Over 35 distinct spacecraft are ready for you to command, from lightweight exploration vessels to gigantic behemoths ready for battle. Build a diverse collection of ships and outfit them to match your playstyle. Customise every component, weapon and optional module to enhance and alter your ships’ capabilities.

Hunt, explore, fight, mine, smuggle and trade across the galaxy. Forge your path solo or with up to three friends in a Wing. Join a Squadron full of like-minded Commanders and share the highs and lows of your interstellar adventures together.
With the System Colonisation mechanic, the power to claim and expand your very own star systems is in your hands. Whether creating a thriving new economy, a bustling trade hub, or a new port of operations, the galaxy awaits your vision.

The Elite Dangerous galaxy revolves around players’ actions. In an age of galactic superpowers and interstellar war, every player’s personal story influences the space simulation and handcrafted, evolving narrative.
Co-operate with fellow Commanders in pivotal Community Goal events that can permanently alter the state of the galaxy, earning exclusive rewards and recognition for your contribution in the process.
Align with a galactic superpower and alter the interstellar landscape with Powerplay. Support your power or undermine a rival through a variety of means, from hacking starport advertisements to attacking gigantic Stronghold Carriers. Every contribution matters.

Experience unpredictable encounters with other players in a vast, massively multiplayer space. Experience the connected galaxy alone in Solo mode or with players across the world in Open Play, where every pilot you face could become a trusted ally or your deadliest enemy.

The universe of Elite Dangerous continues to grow and expand with new features and content. Regular major updates provide new opportunities and gameplay for you to discover and change the way you play.

스타 시티즌도 불친절 하다고 생각했지만 이거는 그냥 사막 한 가운데에 버려두는 수준인데
This game is virtually unplayable and incredibly overcomplicated. It lacks proper tutorials or guidance, making the experience pure frustration rather than entertainment. If you are looking for an actual game, this is not it.
Played once, controls are super wonky, launched the day after to get unable to initialize network, and was soft locked from playing anything other than the tutorial, not going to put in a bunch of time troubleshooting a new game.
It's a very special game and I have a lot of trouble encapsulating my thoughts and experiences in a simple Steam review, so I'll try to keep it short. What I will say is that since I started playing in 2015, no other released (looking at you SC) space game that I've played or know about has come close to the fidelity that Elite Dangerous offers, though it is not without its flaws. The developers have historically been pretty bad at managing this (imo) gold mine of a game and I quit playing for many years after they seemingly left it to rot after a poor DLC launch, but it seems like microtransactions work just as well here as they do in other games. Great, who doesn't love microtransactions? On the bright side, they're almost entirely cosmetic and the ships - arguably pay2win in the early access phase as they *are* quite a bit better than older designs - do become available for purchase with regular in-game credits after a few weeks/months. If the price of a dlc every few years is rolled into a few small microtransactions so that FDev can continue releasing free updates, then so be it. You can also earn the premium currency in-game, but the weekly cap is 400 and most ships cost around 16k, you do the math. The ship power creep doesn't really bother me as, well, technology gets better and cheaper in real life all the time, why should a game be different? If the new ships make parts of the game (long range exploration with the caspian, mining with the type 11, hauling with the plipper...) much more enjoyable, then that's a price worth paying. I came back after a while, bought a caspian and went on a grand tour of the galaxy, something I would have never done without that ship. They've apparently been revamping some core systems over the past few years. I think that's a good thing as the game has a few areas that definitely need a touchup - notably exploration, which can be great for screenshots but is rather same-y in that all planets of a specific type look the same. There just isn't much to do out there if you're not interested in astrodynamics or making heaps of money with exobiology (scanning said plants). They should also provide more in-game information to the player, it's almost impossible to make good use of your time without a lot of third-party tools that help with plotting more efficient routes, trading and finding planets/exobiology species, just to name a few. It's a game that you either lose yourself in or quit after 3 hours because you can't figure out how to land at a starport, there is no in-between. Give it a shot if you like flying detailed ships.
Whenever I reinstall this, either PC or PS4, I end up uninstalling it and playing X4 instead. I love space sims, I've been playing Elite since Elite Plus. This is such a disappointment.
waist of money
Great game!
This game is fascinating. There is so much depth, and infinite possibilities. And it only keeps getting better. There are some grind loops which may gate progression, but they do make you practice and improve at the game. So all and all, probably my favorite game of all time. There is a lot to learn, but none of it is overwhelming or too hard. The game enoyement improves as you get better at the game.
NO!
Its an interesting idea for a game, but sadly its filled with a lot of nothing to do. Sure I can jump around between systems using some very clunky and poorly thought out menus delivering goods, but beyond that, content doesn't generate. I can try to go look for pirates, but I can spend hours finding none while being told to go to randomly generated far away locations that make no sense. Mining is not straight forward at all and requires some considerable investment in capital and modules, and forget about finding any asteroids to mine. I can spend hours finding nothing. There are also not nearly enough ships s in the game, and no, none of the "ships" are actual ships. You only get access to small fighter planes, or slightly larger fighter planes. There aren't any capital ships to unlock unfortunately. There are however, microtransactions where you can buy a pay to win "ship" instead of playing the game and unlocking stuff. Elite Dangerous is a pointless waste of time of a game with no content, horrible UI design, and falsely advertises itself.
