Overall a pretty boring experience that takes too much to become something worthwhile, with not a lot that's notable at face value. The game is pretty simple in its idea, ride on a bike, finish levels, and go for good times since it's obviously speedrun-oriented. Albeit, it's a game that's extremely slow to start and with its control scheme it doesn't stick right from the getgo. There's way too many quirks and odd physics, acceleration is extremely sluggish, pitching up down feels extremely off with how it snaps, and then cuts in speed shortly after etc. The level design isn't the best either. Complexity of the levels as well as their base difficulty is all over the place and doesn't really make players feel welcome one bit. There's no "nice and easy" levels, like fun slopes to speed on, simple areas to get accustomed to mechanics better, and the such. The game essentially jumps from one idea to the other, with the overall presentation being haphazardly put. This lack of composure combined with practically inexistent curve, be it difficulty or anything to ease the player in and give them wee space for getting accustomed. In general it feels like the game has an identity crisis of sorts with what it wants to achieve. Does it want to be a speedrun game? It does have the complexity for it, but extremely sluggish restarts and general pacing, both with lots of "nothing" at the start of many levels, and acceleration which means you spend a few seconds of every attempt doing nothing but gaining speed, detracts from it. Is it a technical game? Likely so, but it has so many limitations for actually learning the intricacies with the fact the game barely gives the player an option to not just find those mechanics, but also make an environment that allows for learning them. The controls are clunky, but does it want to be an awkward control sim? Well, not really, but with the physics it does feel like such, pretty often. Likewise for it being a speedrun gam, there's a lot left to be desired. Lack of online replays, no fast option to restart, no automatic saving of replays, makes it just overall a not welcoming experience, for those who do want to give it a try. Overall I think it's a game that's not really notable, despite its low price point. There's many options out there, that are much more polished, much more replayable, and much more to-the-point, whether you want a platforming game, a racing game, or a speedrunning experience.
The dark souls of bike games. Somehow I was much better at this 25 years ago.
Бессмертная классика.
My old computer's password. God bless this game
A game where you’re a squishy biker with a neck made of spaghetti and dreams of apples. Physics? Nah, just vibes. One wrong bounce and your head explodes like it's made of TNT. Spent 30 minutes trying to beat a level a 12-year-old made in 2001. 10/10 — I fell, flipped, died, and loved every second of it.
Лучшая игра, если вы спокойный и целеустремленный человек. Эдакий Elden Ring в 2D, только вражеский босс это ты сам.
I grew up playing this. Unlike EM2, this supports split screen CoOp
Best game ever
About 20 years ago, when I was a kid, I could not afford the full version of this game. I emailed Balazs and he gave it to me for free. That was amazing, I'm happy to pay back to purchase this amazing gem!
