This game is awesome, for those who love escape games. There is puzzle everywhere. The two obvious that are part of the game are sooooo cool. Seriously, they could be recreated in real life as they were made like it was a real life escape room. The voice and the presence of Joe is unique and I like it. I've spend 5 hours so far, the two standards puzzle were done in the average time and were well made. I'm waiting for the next update. I hope there will be an update
Bug chato entrei com o balão vermelho dentro da sala da mesa de bilhar (vi em videos, balão que contém uma chave), saí da sala e perdi o balão sem furar ele para pegar a chave. o balão desapareceu e eu perdi de pegar essa chave.
So far very good VR escape room game. Works well with my HP Reverb G2. Graphics is not outstanding but the puzzles are challenging and well designed, interaction is also pretty good. Recommended.
Egression is a virtual reality puzzle title developed and published by Hyperquad Studio that takes inspiration from real-life escape rooms and translates that experience into an interactive digital space. Instead of leaning on action sequences, horror elements, or an elaborate storyline, the game places its entire focus on challenging the player's problem-solving skills. Set within the headquarters of Egression, Inc., players are invited to participate in a series of carefully designed escape room scenarios where observation and experimentation are the keys to success. Its premise may sound modest at first glance, but the game's confidence in its core concept is ultimately what makes it memorable. The strongest aspect of Egression is its dedication to immersion. Hyperquad Studio clearly designed the experience with VR in mind from the beginning, allowing players to physically interact with objects, inspect clues from different angles, and engage with the environment naturally. Every room feels like a tangible space rather than a traditional video game level. Picking up items, moving around to inspect hidden details, and piecing together information create an experience that captures the appeal of real escape rooms surprisingly well. The game encourages patience and curiosity, rewarding players who take their time to explore every corner. The title currently features two major escape room scenarios: The Game Room and The Deep Sea Lab. While the former adopts a lighter and more playful theme, the latter introduces a more atmospheric setting centered around scientific experimentation and underwater aesthetics. Each environment has its own identity and puzzle structure, preventing the experience from becoming repetitive. The puzzles themselves are varied and generally well thought out, requiring players to think logically rather than rely on random guesswork. There is a satisfying sense of progression as seemingly unrelated clues eventually connect to reveal the path forward. Visually, Egression adopts a clean and accessible art style that prioritizes readability without sacrificing environmental detail. Its rooms are packed with interactive elements that make exploration enjoyable, and the restrained use of lighting helps establish mood while ensuring that important clues remain visible. Audio design follows a similar philosophy, opting for subtle ambient sounds over an intrusive soundtrack. This minimalist approach works in the game's favor, allowing players to concentrate on solving puzzles without unnecessary distractions. However, Egression's commitment to being a pure puzzle experience can also limit its appeal. Players searching for a compelling narrative or character-driven moments will find very little beyond the escape room framework. Likewise, some of the more difficult puzzles may test the patience of newcomers to the genre. There are moments where progression can stall for extended periods, especially when a crucial clue is overlooked. While experienced puzzle enthusiasts may appreciate the challenge, others might wish for additional hints or accessibility options to maintain momentum. Despite these shortcomings, Egression succeeds at delivering exactly what it promises. It embraces a niche audience and serves that audience exceptionally well. The game demonstrates a clear understanding of how virtual reality can enhance puzzle-solving by turning simple interactions into immersive experiences. Rather than overwhelming players with unnecessary mechanics, Hyperquad Studio focuses on quality environmental design and rewarding problem-solving, resulting in an experience that feels genuine and thoughtfully crafted. For VR owners who enjoy escape rooms, Egression is an easy recommendation. Its handcrafted puzzles, immersive environments, and effective use of virtual reality technology make it a standout independent title that deserves more attention. While its limited scope and lack of narrative depth prevent it from reaching the heights of the genre's biggest names, it remains an engaging adventure that captures the spirit of escaping a locked room better than many of its contemporaries. Rating: 8/10
Absolutely great game, anyone who likes irl escape rooms will love this game. The puzzles are intuitive, innovative and hard, but not too hard. Perfectly balanced game and I was really motivated to get 100% of the achievements.
game does not work on Rift S. cannot turn. only able to walk/teleport forward and then stuck because cannot turn or turn around. in game control settings show the joysticks on controller are working and that the game is receiving the signal, but the game self is not turning. program is not finished and not ready for sale. the game is not processing the 'turn' commands. I may try it again after the creator lets me know that the game is fixed. but for now, refund. in answer to Developer response: 1. already got refund, and developer response does not provide confidence so not going to connect on discord. 2. Rift S. 3. Other games, no problems with turning in VR space. Egression, cannot turn. 4. No, trying to use Egression. In the controls section of Egression, it is showing that the joystick signals are being received, but the game movement inside Egression is not doing anything with the turn commands. 5. Nice to know that you don't write games for the Rift S. I will remember that for future so that I don't buy your games. 6. No, just steam and the required meta link. I already got a refund. you can send me a new key if you want me to help you test things, otherwise I will wait for Egression store listing page to be notated that the problem has been fixed, and then is also on major sale again below $5 USD. Not going to buy it again unless I see mention of the problem having been fixed.
6/10 - average. 2 rooms to escape, + lobby run around puzzle = 4 trophies. took me 5 hours to complete all, not so easy puzzles. wish it just had one more room. had great potential but left behind half baked. but i doubt any more additions, update. works well with quest 3 + virtual desktop streamer. still worth it on sale.
OK
6/10 - Refunded. I found the puzzles a little beyond me. Needs a hint system for me, I'm afraid.
Fun puzzles to solve. The narrator is also very funny.
