Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I don't recommend the game in its current form. There is a critical known bug that prevents players to finish the game/campaign. This is a long standing issue and the devs can't be bothered to fix it. The game received one update 5 months ago.Silence ever since-except for asking a vote for game of the year award...LOL

I wanted to like this game, but it's clunky and poorly designed. There's limited area to build on the map and it seems like the devs have abandoned the project completely.

As a city founder, you shape the growth of your settlement amidst uncharted territories and historical intrigue. The game's depth is enriched by the historical context and the evolving challenges of city-building. Players face complex decisions that influence the city's prosperity and its role in a broader geopolitical landscape. Each choice impacts the growth of your settlement and its relationships with other entities, making your strategic decisions crucial to the narrative's progression.

[th]🏆Verdict:[/th]

"El Dorado: The Golden City Builder" offers a captivating city-building experience set in an evocative historical era. Drawing inspiration from the grandeur of ancient civilizations, the game appeals to players who, like me, are fascinated by cultures reminiscent of the Maya and Aztec, even if the game itself doesn’t focus specifically on them. The game excels in immersing players in a detailed city-building simulation with a strong historical flavor. The dynamic exploration, resource management, and city development elements provide a rewarding challenge. The depiction of ancient themes and the strategic depth make for a compelling and immersive experience. However, some players might find certain game mechanics, such as divine wrath, to be less effective or somewhat disruptive. Additionally, while the city-building and historical aspects are engaging, the game might not offer groundbreaking innovations compared to similar titles. Overall, "El Dorado" stands out for its thematic richness and engaging gameplay, making it a worthwhile choice for those who appreciate historical settings and city-building games, despite a few minor issues.

[th]✅Good:[/th]

👍 Engaging and intriguing theme: The game captures the allure of ancient civilizations and exploration, which resonates with my fascination for historical settings. 👍 Appealing visuals and mechanics: The design of the cities and the depiction of historical elements are compelling and contribute to a highly immersive experience. 👍 Unique game features: The city-building mechanics and resource management aspects are well-executed and add to the game's charm.

[th]🛠️Ways of Improvement:[/th]

👎 Lack of innovation: The game doesn’t introduce many new or unique elements compared to other city builders, which can make it feel somewhat familiar and less groundbreaking. 👎 Divine wrath mechanics: The feature involving divine wrath seems to be more of an obstacle than a strategic enhancement, affecting my overall enjoyment. 👎 Limited scope of civilization focus: The game’s focus on certain aspects of ancient civilizations might not fully satisfy those of us looking for a broader exploration of these cultures.

I had a problem in Act 6 . I played that map 6 times, and every time the same thing I could not do the task. So I went to Discord and listed my dilemma in the bug report. But no response from the Dev's. Since I can't finish Act 6 it is game over for the rest. So I've tried again, and yet again the same thing I can not buy from a visitor because he has nothing to sell. I thought I'll try sandbox then but all the maps I looked at where not a pleasure to play. Looks like I wasted my money on this game.
i cant complete the tutorial because the the resources in the little island i got ran out, thats cute
Almost a good game, but definitely needed more polishing before release. It can be fun and interesting, but it lacks full depth and the mechanics are not intuitive. What I did like is that it feels like something a little unique in the genre, balancing the favor of the various gods had a lot of potential to be fun. However, it needed to go beyond just building a bunch of shrines everywhere. A couple of key complaints that I've seen in other reviews and agree with: Sandbox map generation is horrendous - spawning in or completely surrounded by boulders, spawning away from necessary resources making ridiculous supply lines right out of the gate, terrain making building nearly impossible Difficult to understand basics: I should not have had to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out how to place dirt down to create a farm and the chain of production in the game is challenging to understand at times too. Additional thoughts: The theme and graphics are pretty but inconsistent (draw distance is a big issue in this game and the line between rendered and potato is nonexistent). It's actually pretty easy to softlock yourself in this game, even in the tutorials. You can accidentally turn all your tier 1 materials into tier 2 materials and leave yourself unable to build or advance with no one way acquire more. I'm not sure progressive makes much sense in this game either, seems arbitrary.
I played the tutorial for less than 20 minutes. There were missing instructions I needed to check the forums to figure out for basic resources. Then it told me the resource buildings were not connected by roads despite building multiple roads to the building trying to get it to work. Again, during the initial tutorial.
Chapter 9 of the game is bugged. This bug prevents players from finishing the campaign. Additionally, upgrading common houses is impossible because holy chocolate cannot be crafted anywhere.
Nope. I got this game when it was in Early Access. It was a turd. Loaded it up today April 11th, 2025 and it's still a turd. I went for sandbox because I wasn't sure if the campaign was fixed. Turns out sandbox isn't even playable. Spawn was too far from water. There wasn't a button to build farms to unlock more tech. Just random baskets floating around on the roads. Don't waste your money on this.
