Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is weird one to try and recommend. Its like a small team tried to make a game with the scope of a Xenoblade game but had the budget, time, brains for nothing close. There was a good idea but it has many or more bugs than a Bathesda game on launch, and a world as empty as Twilight Princess. Everything is rough on the edges, the camera is horrendous in combat to the point of unplayable, especially with the auto battle which instead speed of repeat fights slows things down as they characters just move back and forth endlessly if it doesn`t basicaly crash the game first, makng the UI bug out and everything freezing. its a 5$ game dreaming it was a 30$ game.
“Why, why would you do that?” ~Ross Geller
Like many other Japanese things, the JRPG genre is in a bad place right now. And it's been like that for quite some time. The economy, though, is not the only thing to blame here. I mean, let’s admit it, since turn-based stuff became “uncool” in mainstream media, the genre has had a really hard time finding its new identity. That thing Bethesda did for Fallout (say whatever you want 'bout 'em but they did manage to reinvent the series for a new audience)? Well, for the JRPG genre, it was Square-Enix with Final Fantasy XII who did the job. And while obviously we can’t fight the changes, while FFXII did a lot of good... Like I said, the genre has had a really hard time understanding what exactly it is now. What evolved from tabletop games and early CRPGs like Ultima and Wizardry ended up being... Well, that. A strange mix of action battles and tactical “tweaks.” With Ultima-like open-world maps that... nobody knew what to fill with. Remember Cohen the Barbarian? Sir Terry’s character who still remembered that maidens were supposed to be kidnapped but forgot why exactly? That was exactly it. There was still that huge open world. Yet nobody remembered why exactly it was there. And sometimes it was torture. I’m talking, of course, 'bout games like Xenoblade. A huge world to explore. With absolutely no motivation or reason why. Now. Why am I telling you all this? Well, because Edge of Eternity is exactly that. It’s, like, one big love letter to Xenoblade. The original one, not Xenoblade X, which was a rare exception that actually tried to address the problem and make the map useful for a change. And the funniest thing is this game isn’t even Japanese. It’s French! And even though it may feel a lil’ bit like cultural appropriation (I mean, they don’t call 'em “Japanese role-playing games” for nothing, right?), there’s nothing really wrong with it. Like I said, the whole thing evolved from D&D. And there’s always a chance for something really good to happen. Like it did not so long ago in Sandfall’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Which, despite being a nod to JRPGs, was a very French thing. So... Did something like that happen here? Nope~ Like I said, EoE is exactly that – a love letter to the original Xenoblade. That exact mix of mecha and fantasy, that exact landscape design, etc. And if you’ve played Xenoblade games before, there’s a good chance... you're already bored. I mean, let’s admit it – the times when games like this were always welcomed just because of 'em being “different” are long gone. JRPGs are extremely common nowadays. Exactly like anime is just another toon now, not a niche thing that only “the geeky few” know about. Moreover, there are tons of such games to choose from. Which is yet another problem the genre must face. This time, though, it’s not unlike most other genres. Let’s ask ourselves a question – what’s the reason to pay for a shiny new game? Why diving into unknown, while at this point there are generations of games you haven't played yet? Many of which are 100% guaranteed to be good. With short games, it’s not really that big of a problem. Finish one, go for another, repeat until the debt collectors start knocking atcha door. With JRPGs? It’s a whole different story. They want you to invest the most valuable currency there is – time. JRPGs are designed to be long. And when you ask people to invest 100 hours of their lives, you have to give ’em something to remember. And that’s, unfortunately, the biggest crime Edge of Eternity commits – it makes you regret the time you’ve wasted there. Don’t get me wrong, though. The people behind this game did a surprisingly good job. This game looks like a JRPG, it feels like a JRPG and, thanks to how they even bothered to hire a proper Japanese cast (we’ve got Ogasawara Jin and Tōjō Hisako as the main duo), I think it’s OK to say that it is a JRPG. The game was made by a small team with a limited budget? Not a problem! Everything from Japan is rather low budget nowadays. Because again, the economy. Like I said, if you like such games, EoE will look exactly right for you. The problem is... What's it all about? I mean, seriously. It’s a game 'bout some boy (who’s, of course, a combat veteran) and some girl (who’s, of course, a priestess of some boring god) trying to look for a cure for their mother. That’s pretty much it. That’s the whole story. With the rest being just some generic and heavily reused tropes. Somethin' we’ve seen in such games, like, a million times. And it’s not like EoE does an especially good job with those. For example, even an ancient stuff like Grandia II does the religion part better. Much better actually. Now, how long is this game? Well, if you know exactly what to do and how to do it (also, if you’re really good with the game’s mechanics, which is unlikely thanks to how confusing everything is), it’s at least 30+ hours. With a more realistic number being 50+ hours for the main story alone. And if you want to spend some time grinding, it’s 80+. And let me tell ya, it’s gonna be one heck of a plus. Because you know what they filled the world with? Yeah, they filled it with the f@cking grinding! You know how properly balanced games give you some meh but useful equipment for doing the main objectives but reward you with something exceptional when you decide to dive deeper? Edge of Eternity has its stuff tied to crafting. Means that yes, you’re gonna walk around, collecting stuff Xenoblade style. Are there optional quests? Yep. Dozens. Are they satisfying? Nope. They feel like a chore (and yes, you're gonna hunt stuff). Also, yes, MMORPG-like “world events” are also there. Means you’re free to waste even more time in this game if you wanna. Will you? I mean, wanna? Well... Let’s put it this way, did you guys love the Xenoblade series? Again, the main entries only, no X. If your answer is yes, then EoE may be worth looking into. It also may not, since it’s a lil’ bit more buggy than Xenoblade (actually, scratch that, it’s much more buggy), and it sure is more annoying. And while the game does allow you to skip battle-oriented puzzles—one of the things I actually liked about this game is that it’s surprisingly old-school in its approach to battles and uses FF IV-like ATB mechanics—required to access certain areas (yep, that’s exactly how this game is, it lets you skip certain things just because the devs knew they’ve made a doodoo), some battles are still heavily puzzle-like. And it’s annoying. Again, they did try to address that. The game comes with heavily customizable settings that allow you to make things exactly as challenging as you’ll want ’em, but at the same time, it just... doesn’t feel right. I mean, aside from a couple of achievements, what’s the point of disabling saving everywhere? Just to make this game feel longer? It already feels much longer than it should. So yeah. Like I said, if you’re a die-hard fan of the Xenoblade series specifically and don’t mind a fan-made wannabe? This game will do. I mean, I do know there are such people, right? It’ll be wrong for me to say there’s something wrong with their taste. Still, with it being an imitation, not the real deal? And with Edge of Eternity having nothing that counts as unique “face” (that certain cyberpunk dystopia FF VII had or the grim ceremony Clair Obscur revolves around)? Personally, I just can’t justify spending even 30 hours in here. Do I respect the job Midgar Studio did here? Why, sure! Like I said, they did recreate a JRPG very carefully. Every single trope, every little detail such games usually have is here. The question is – why? I mean, aside from the “active time” system that old geezers like me used to love almost 30 years ago. This here? It’s one heck of a portfolio, but honestly, just go play something else. I’ve spoken. And stuff.
Nice old school Turn-based RPG
After 5 years nobody fixed control? Its terrible on controller and this game is preferred for controllers... Cant abandon spells. It makes "fast battle" pointless because ♥♥♥♥ Ai intelligence is repeating spells that are resisted on enemy. Ohh and terrible "tactic" option. What is for?for nothing. Terrible game.
