About
Eclipse Breaker is a timing‑driven action roguelite that asks you to dodge, parry, and counter in real‑time combat while forging ever‑shifting builds from the divine powers you collect. Conquer procedurally generated dungeons ruled by elemental gods, recruit the lingering spirits of lost allies, and push toward a climactic showdown with the sun‑goddess Solara. Built from scratch yet wrapped in late‑’90s PlayStation flair, every run rewrites the battlefield and your fate until you finally make your last stand.
Every battle balances timing and relentless divine punishment. Dodge attacks, block incoming strikes, and reposition on the battlefield while managing cooldowns, chaining abilities, and seizing the perfect moment to strike.
Procedurally generated dungeons shaped by the elemental gods who rule them. Defeat these celestial warriors and discover new elemental abilities, crafting new builds every run. No two runs are the same.
Select from a roster of Companion Spirits, the lingering souls of Ember’s former friends and party members. They grant powerful abilities, guide her through battle, and challenge her with their own regrets, humor, and memories. Their past lives fuel your fight, and who you bring with you shapes your journey.
Battle a pantheon of bosses and enemies, each with unique attack patterns, elemental abilities, and unpredictable tactics.
In the late ‘90s, a legendary JRPG was released and all but forgotten. OK, maybe it wasn’t…
But if it had, Eclipse Breaker would have been the kind of game you rented from a video store and played obsessively. Now, returning to your save file after 25 years, this lost classic is making its grand return and morphed from a classic JRPG to an action roguelite; fully “remastered” (read: developed from scratch) with smooth mechanics, enhanced visuals, and the challenge modern fans crave.
Back in ’99 you led paladin Ember toward a showdown with the rogue sun‑goddess Solara… then life (or a corrupted save) intervened. Twenty‑five years later, you’re loading that save again. Ember returns to a world still shrouded in darkness, hailed as myth by some and blamed by others. To restore the sun, she must storm the Divine Realm run after run, mastering new powers and rewriting fate until the cycle finally shatters.
Hey everyone, I’m Jorge Rodriguez, the developer behind Eclipse Breaker. This game is a love letter to the roguelites and PlayStation-era RPGs that shaped my love for gaming: fast-paced battles, deep mechanics, and a world full of mystery and danger. We’ve had a blast crafting this ‘remaster’ of a game that never actually existed, and I hope you enjoy discovering it as much as we enjoyed making it.
If you’re curious, try the demo! Your feedback means the world to us, and we’d love to hear what you think. Whether you’re here for the strategic combat, the nostalgia, or just to break the cycle, thanks for giving Eclipse Breaker a shot. Now get out there, challenge the gods, and let’s see if you can survive.

never played a game that felt more "for me" coming from the 90s, growing up with older Final Fantasy games and just wanted the ability to run around and dodge the attacks I thought my characters SOULD be able to dodge because we can SEE the enemies across from us (lol children brain) making this game a Roguelike was an INCREDIBLY smart idea giving it this addictive gameplay loop where as you keep playing you unlock more and more of the story of Ember and her crew's past which is a great story that kinda explains... "what would happen if the game kept going while you're main character had to wait for you to load back in" awesome game
From the people who played Hades and thought, "Let's slow this down a bit". The ATB system is fun and once you get into a good loop it feels really nice to execute a well lined up combo. The builds didn't quite get to wacky levels but I did feel the upgrades I was selecting did change my build enough. It did feel a bit easy at times when the enemies didn't follow you around the arena while you get free movement to just kind of run away from all the attacks. With that said there was still a challenge when it came to the bosses. Great little roguelite game that takes ideas and adds a twist to them.
Really addictive gameplay and beautiful artwork. I really enjoyed the mix of real time combat and tactical planning. It reminds me of Hades / Final Fantasy Tactics. Looking forward to seeing how this game evolves!
I was never really into RTS/Turn-Based games, which is why I scoffed at the popularity of titles like Baldur’s Gate and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. That said, Eclipse Breaker completely changed my perspective. This game makes RTS far more engaging by blending traditional strategy with active, moment-to-moment combat. You’re constantly making decisions on the fly rather than just waiting for turns. It clearly takes inspiration from turn-based systems, but it never becomes bogged down by them—and that balance is beautifully executed. On top of that, the game features procedurally generated dungeons, giving it effectively endless replayability. No two runs feel the same, and there’s always more to discover. In my book, this is an inspired and confident execution of hybrid RTS design. Absolutely worth it.
This game gives you that one-more-time experience, until you realize you've spent over 5 hours playing and you have to pry yourself away from the computer. It scratches itches I didn't know existed. Real time combat with a turn system that prioritizes who chose their attack first once their stamina was full rewards patience and positioning. If you want to be a mage who sits on the enemy and charges their stamina in between turns to stack damage, you can do that. If you want to be a barbarian who dodges out of the way and sneaks in a double back attack, you can do that too. On top of that, all of these options are not limited within one run. It pays to have tools to deal with multiple enemies at the same time, as well as higher single target damage. It seems pretty well balanced too; I never played a run and said to myself "I'll try the exact same strategy" after, as experimentation is encouraged and rewarded. It's rewarding each time; getting a little better at dodging or parrying specific enemy attacks gets you further each run and feels like an accomplishment. Once you settle into what you are trying to do with the meta progression board (set up in a branching tree), you may decide, for example, that you feel like back attacks are a little riskier to set up, so you cater your build toward more damage for every equipment or Prima (orbs of different elements that change the effects of attack options) you pickup, and then specialize accordingly. You may be like me who's a glutton for punishment who loves the risk/reward of speeding up the charge of your stamina each round at the cost of making yourself vulnerable to enemy attacks, taking big damage if they hit you. If you're like me, you appreciate a game that gives you true diversity in builds within each run. It makes me feel like the master of my own agency, and not locked into playing one specific way because it's the top meta-build. It feels as polished as both of the Hades games, which is a ridiculous accomplishment for a small indie team. I think there's a ton of content I still haven't seen, and each time I drop in for another run, i'm excited to see what opportunities for builds I come across. The graphics, the gameplay, and the humorous storyline all come together well. It is a nostalgic experience, like a game that you really wish you played 25 years ago, but there wasn't a developer who had the thought and passion to come up with the perfect game for a gamer like me. This is the easiest recommendation I can make.
For 10 bucks... Get it If you like this genre
I'll recommend this game, but a bit hesitant. Not a bad game truly, in fact for a nice little 12 dollar priced game, it is a nice package. However it left me feeling very eh at the end. Story while at first actually kinda neat in terms, bytheway spoilers here: It sets up this sorta narrative of a game you haven't played in a while and you're coming back to it, but everything has changed like with how the world has been, the people NPCs (?) your character used to know now all dead... but it doesn't really capitalize on it enough. It's there in short spots, and once you get to the ending, it just feels kinda done and over with unless I missed something with not getting the very last Divine Spark. Right now I don't really feel like incentivised to go for it ether way. Now for the actual gameplay section: Neat and all with the sorta turn based action gameplay, but can become bland very quickly along with your best with just best getting a build going that mainly focuses on back attacks and triggers so that you can get some elements going and forget the rest unless you felt like pressing other buttons... Or if you're actually playing the Overkill mechanic character or the Mad Healer character, though that can eventually lead back to just going for back attacks and triggers for your build again eventually. Again I don't want to say that it's bad gameplay since it's not, it just needs a boost in terms of variety and maybe more reason to use other abilities. I wouldn't know what would best be those certain improvements, but just a little oomph would be nice. The only other things I truly have gripes with are the camera and flashing. For the love of god this games needs a option to turn off the screen flashing or lower it's visual somewhat. I'm not affected by epilespy, but I do have Astigmatism where lights end up brighter in my view compared to others. Good lord it's a lot when you get the Javelins from one characters doing back attacks, I had to block my view of the screen to shield my eyes when I tried that move just because I was trying to do more damage that turn. Finally we have the camera.... dear god the camera, You can select the enemies and all that, but good luck when you get like 5 enemies just in each corner of the small map because then the camera becomes like a awkward wide view shot but also is very bad at keeping Ember (Your Player Character) in proper view and I have to keep track of that wide ass view next to having to remember which enemy is bout to have their turn and hope to dear lord it's not the enemy type that has a HUGE AOE that covers way more than it needs to when that said enemy is just a regular enemy mob and not one of the bosses. So in short.... while it has those flaws, honestly twelve dollars isn't too bad a price if you got it to spare.
