Reviews
Very old school Resident Evil vibes with the fixed cameras and tank controls. Puzzles are fun and plentiful as well as looking gorgeous. Recommended for any survival horror fans
It's just amazing At first glance I thought it was a very linear, cute but shaky indie hommage to RE I was so wrong, they know exactly what they're doing First, it's very very GENEROUS with content, don't think because it's one campaign in early access ou won't have your money's worth, the first campaign is equivalent to a FULLY FLESHED OUT RE2 or RE0 in length and stages. The level design is one of the best of the genre. It's so intricate and smart, I was in love with the game by the time I reached the end of the Pub, and it only gets better until the end. You lose yourself in the city, until the game tests you at the right time and you realized it taught you the map. A true work of talent and thought. Mood, pace, item and enemy placement, feel like the work of veteran devs, and while there's always a couple of hiccups and glitches with this kind of game, it's very well balanced, never felt too stuck or too easy. Just go for it, especially if you love the old RE, or the recent Tormented Souls. it's one of the best additions of this kind truly

good old days horror game
Also gut gebalanced.
i have to say i'm actually really enjoying this. its bringing back that classic era of gaming back for me, itching all the right spots. the creators should be proud. looking forward to seeing you guys continue to make improvements and add more. now if you'll excuse me, i've got to jump back in and get rattled a gooden'
Good survival horror game so far. The map could use a little love silent hill style helping identify blocks and keys and such. I have been able to handle the puzzles on my own but had to look at a guide twice because some times the next way to go wasn't very clear. I could have not been paying full attention though. Update: I just read some of the June updates. Looks like they are trying to fix the map and some storage box stuff.
If you consider yourself a die-hard fan of original Resident Evil, especially the fixed-camera era, Echoes of the Living is an absolute must-play. I am currently about 7 hours into the campaign, and it has been an incredible, nostalgic experience that feels like a modern evolution of the genre's golden age. Atmosphere & Presentation: The game nails the tone from the jump. The graphics and animations are fantastic, creating an immersive, dread-filled environment that makes every corridor feel dangerous. Classic Mechanics: For those of us who grew up with fixed-camera angles, this feels like coming home. The level design is a highlight, featuring intelligent backtracking and deeply satisfying shortcuts that make navigating the map feel like a rewarding puzzle in itself. Controls & Combat: The controls feel responsive and precise, which is essential for survival horror. I’ve been particularly impressed with the melee combat, it feels visceral and surprisingly satisfying, adding an extra layer of strategy when you need to conserve ammo. A Few Things to Note The Difficulty Curve: The difficulty is no joke. I initially started on Hard mode and managed to soft-lock myself—something that rarely happens to me, so I decided to restart. If you're looking for a punishing experience, it's there, but don't be afraid to adjust if you find yourself hitting a wall. Story: The narrative is fairly basic so far, serving more as a vehicle for the gameplay and exploration rather than a complex drama, but it gets the job done. Verdict Echoes of the Living is a fantastic, atmospheric throwback that respects its roots while feeling fresh. I am having a great time with it and honestly cannot wait to dive back in to see what happens next. If you crave that specific blend of tension, resource management, and clever level design, I highly recommend picking this up.
Gracias!
