Echoes Of Despair

Short but sweet found footage bodycam realistic horror game , took me 101 minutes to beat and it was funnn and spooky!

It's a short game, but I liked the scary places and sudden appearances of boogeymen the most. However, I missed a bit of the storytelling and the precise path of the players' actions. It's unclear what I should do and why. Overall, the game is fantastic. I really recommend it. :)

GAME is Crap

This game is literally just a bunch of stolen stuff pasted together with ♥♥♥♥, and that wasn't even done right. There is honestly NOTHING worth anyone's money in this game. The lighting was ♥♥♥♥, there was light shining through objects in the distance, the map was just a bunch of spiky hills (♥♥♥♥ all smooth tool was used), floating trees, asylum was placed a bit under the map with the inside sounds playing while your like 10 feet away from the building, horrible sound, laggy which makes sense since everything i mentioned is only apart of the 1st 5 min of the 1st level, nothing stopping you from going to the edge of the map which has a spiky straight up hill with a invisible wall blocking you from falling off the map, this is not even mentioning everything. The controls was a nightmare, ♥♥♥♥ all tutorial, key binds that does not make sense and doesn't even match up with the ones in the settings. You have to lock pick at the start, that was unreasonably hard and good luck finding more when you break them. Game had literally nothing interesting, it was just follow the path and find the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ shacks scattered around the place, only horror was a few way too loud sounds. Story is only made up of a few really simple ai voice lines with broken grammar, and the ones they worked into the map itself was tapes that again made no sense. I understand a game releasing in a bad state but this is literally just a really sad cash grab you would expect from a 12 year old, i would be surprised if this game had over a week of development done on it. Really cant recommend this game to anyone, please take your money somewhere else.

Echoes Of Despair parvient à installer une ambiance sombre et pesante dès les premières minutes de jeu. L’atmosphère est particulièrement réussie, avec une tension constante et des jumpscares certes attendus, mais bien intégrés et efficaces. L’univers est inquiétant sans en faire trop, ce qui renforce l’immersion. Cependant, certains aspects techniques viennent nuire à l’expérience. La caméra tremblante, notamment lors d'interactions précises avec des éléments comme le magnétoscope ou la télévision, peut devenir franchement dérangeante et gêner la précision des actions. On note aussi un manque de réglage au niveau de l’éclairage des objets interactifs comme la torche ou la lanterne, rendant parfois la progression plus frustrante que nécessaire. Le jeu souffre également de sa courte durée de vie et d’un contenu limité, ce qui donne davantage l’impression de jouer à une démo ou à une première ébauche plutôt qu’à un jeu complet. C’est d’autant plus dommage que certains éléments, comme les puzzles et énigmes, sont vraiment bien conçus : on aurait aimé en voir davantage pour étoffer l’aventure. Enfin, un petit regret : l’absence de son dans les enregistrements vidéo que l’on découvre au fil de l’histoire nuit à l’impact émotionnel et à la compréhension de certains passages clés. Malgré ces défauts, Echoes Of Despair reste une expérience horrifique prometteuse, portée par une bonne ambiance, une direction artistique cohérente et quelques bonnes idées de gameplay.
