Echo Isle

this game is an hour or so long, which might sound like a downside, but it is not. Because it is fun. A simple reason, but a powerful one. This will likely be a game I play through again every-so-often. I hope the dev made enough to make another one!

A fun little adventure. I found the last few boss fights a bit too difficult.

You can really finish the game in an hour. I'm surprised by the high quality and all the gameplay mechanics. That must have taken a lot of work. The game reminds me of the Game Boy Color Zelda games. Overall, there’s a small overworld, 4 dungeons, and a final boss. The only thing I find really unfortunate is that the gamepad and keyboard controls are broken. You need the left mouse button for the main menu and the mouse wheel for selecting items.

Very beautiful artstyle, nice music and map. Quite short (about 1-1.5 hours) and linear, but still worth it, in my opinion.

Short but very fun for someone who played Link's Awakening as a kid. I beat it in about 2 hours, but for the price would recommend.

This is a fun little game that is very reminiscent of the Game Boy version of Link's Awakening, although a bit simpler in design and scope. The adventure combines that traditional hack and slash gameplay, along with some bullet-hell-like elements (at least towards the end) that require players to pay attention and play smart instead of simply using brute force to get through tricky encounters. Definitely worth playing if you're a fan of Zelda games!

I played Elementallis a couple of days before playing Echo Isle, and Echo Isle is superior in every way: very efficient in what it does/offers, it's engaging and fun to play, tells a much more cohesive and interesting story, has a neat look and strong sound design, doesn't expect/force aimless wandering to make progress, and respects your time! What a fantastic little snack of a Zelda-like, and one I'm glad I played through!
