Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle

Before you can play fluently this game you first have to install and run 'dxwnd' on your computer. For more instructions you can check the topics here on steam. Then the game runs perfectly. I only don't understand why Steam itself doesn't tell you just in the gamedescription what you have to do to play this game on modern computers. If you are bothered about the fact your gamingtime on Steam doesn't count anymore: First run the game with 'dxwnd' and after that close the game immediately. When you run the game again with Steam after this, your gamingtime is working too again on Steam... About the game itself: However sometimes the game could feel a bit repetive because you have to go many times from the same location to the other again and again... the story is pretty good. It's also an easy game to play and I have never been really stuck. I only recommend this game to real fans of classic, oldschool point & click adventuregames who likes to take their time to play. It's very important to do to the things in the right order and try the same things again in a later chapter. You can also find new objects to use in the game when you visit the same location again in another chapter. So take always a good look at the very small changes of the locations... The music is pretty, but a bit repetive. Not the best game, but also not too bad to say "no" in my opinion.

Okay, what have we here. Graphic adventure, pirates, Reggae like music. Isn´t that Mon... No it isn´t Captain morgane is a Spinoff of the adventure "So Blonde" (not available on Steam unfortunately but worth finding an old copy) which gives the Side character from the Original her own Game. It´s developed by many of the former Cocktel Vision staff. The people who made the Gobliins Series, Lost in Time etc. The game is a little more slow paced than Lucas Arts Pirate saga but also has a certain charme. In any case You get quite some hours of entertainment here and let´s be honest. With 5 Euro you can´t go wrong here. This version of the Game is dubbed in English, French and German

pros + beautiful looking, detailed and colorful hand drawn background artwork + when you press to space, hotspots highlighted so no need to pixel hunting. + typical but well-written and intriguing story about a female pirate's adventures and relationships with her family + well made graphic novel style cut scenes + there are some funny moments + many different, funny and colorful cast of well drawn characters + decent voice acting + nice musics + some enjoyable puzzles. they are not too easy or too difficult. there are also inventory puzzles you can combine some items + there is interactive map. you can instantly travel to another part of the island by clicking an icon + game is long. there are 10 chapters cons - game works with low framerate and laggy but when you download dxwnd and run game's exe with this program game works without a problem. that's why steam can't record my playtime. - slow character animations. characters move slowly. - sparse animation in cut scenes - very easy and childish mini games. Overall this is an typical, old school, decent and enjoyable point and click adventure game. i really like story and characters.

Lovely old fashioned point & click adventure game. Great for my weekly dose of escapism. It's a pity that Steam isn't offering the So blonde games from the same developers. I'd have loved to play those as well.

Bardzo dobrze udźwiękowiona przygodówka. Podkłady muzyczne dobrane idealnie i to do każdej sceny osobno. Bardzo uprzyjemnia to rozgrywkę. Bardzo dobra gra aktorska (voice acting) wszystkich postaci w grze, przy czym dosłownie wszystkie dialogi w grze są odegrane przez anglojęzycznych aktorów (oczywiście wyświetlają się też teksty). Dialogów i tekstów w grze jest bardzo dużo, ale wszystkie one mają sens i są często dowcipne. Gra fabularnie jest długa, rozgrywa się w wielu lokacjach na kilku wyspach. Rozpoczynając grę należy przygotować się na długi rozwój wypadków, gdzie w międzyczasie dochodzą jeszcze nowe wątki. Pierwszy rozdział rozgrywa się w dzieciństwie bohaterki, a w następnych dziewięciu rozdziałach, gdzie rozgrywa się główny wątek fabularny, kierujemy już dorosłą Captain Morgane. Rozdziałów jest w sumie 10, a nie 5, tak jak w pewnym przewodniku na Steamie. Aby gra działała płynnie trzeba doinstalować aplikację, która wyświetla grę w oknie (może ono być powiększone do wielkości całego ekranu i mieć wysoką rozdzielczość HD, więc nie czuje się różnicy). Ja użyłam aplikacji DxWnd dzięki czemu nie miałam żadnych problemów technicznych w grze. Dowiedziałam się o takim rozwiązaniu z wpisu (w "Centrum Społeczności" gry w Dyskusjach) gracza "webfischi" zatytułowanego "Got it running 60fps on Windows 10": "There is almost no game dxwnd can't fix. Download the current version of dxwnd, add the game exe and go to the 'Direct3D' tab. There is a section called 'Force Vertex Proc. / Execute Buffer' change it from 'Default' to 'mixed' and the game is fixed." and: "Open DXWnd and click on Edit > Add you should see a window now, with 3 rows of tabs on the top, if there are less, you have an older version, please update to at least v2.05.09 Enter any name you like, so you know which game it is, click on the 3 dots beside Path and select CaptainMorgane.exe in [your path to the steam folder]\Steam\SteamApps\common\CaptainMorgane\ and uncheck everything on the Main tab, keep radio button on X,Y coordinates. While certainly not bad, [i]Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle[/i] is missing on a couple of key ingredients with which it would be a whole different game, and not just a descent one-timer. It needed better 3D models, a variety in music themes, less chores, more puzzles, more interesting characters, more humorous dialogues, and, most importantly, a stronger focus on Morgane and her search for The Golden Turtle. Is it worth trying out despite the low score, though? To be honest, it's hard to recommend this title to anyone other than those really, [i]really[/i] passionate with adventure games. Spent 20 minutes trying to get through the first puzzle. The interface is not intuitive and the characters and gameplay are agonizingly slow.
