Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 364/day in the week to Jul 17 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Eastward is a beautifully detailed and charming adventure game, from Shanghai-based indie developers, Pixpil.
In the near-future, society is starting to collapse, and the human population is at an all-time low. A deadly toxic presence has spread across the land, destroying and devouring everything in its path.
Those who could escape the miasma flocked to underground villages to start a new life. But for a hardworking miner and a mysterious young girl, the hope of a thriving outside world beckons…
Escape the tyrannical clutches of Potcrock Isle's subterranean society and join Eastward’s unlikely duo on an exciting adventure to the land above! Discover beautiful yet bizarre settlements and make new friends as you travel across the world by rail.
Contains adult humour and some mature themes.
Discover the wonderfully weird world of Eastward. Climb aboard the cross-country railway which spans this decaying continent, stopping off to explore its bustling towns, curious campsites and shady forests.
Fend off peculiar monsters and ferocious bosses with John’s weapon of choice - be it a flamethrower, cog-shooter or your trusty ol’ frying pan. Feeling merciful? Try temporarily stunning them with Sam’s kinetic blast.
Switch between John and Sam to solve environmental puzzles and fight your way through formidable dungeons. Separate the duo to unlock hidden paths or stick together as you traverse a perilous landscape.
Get to know a quirky cast of characters with oodles of personality! Immerse yourself in a heartwarming story-driven adventure, packed with fun and wacky humour.
Create deliciously authentic Eastwardian cuisine using (mostly) fresh, organic ingredients from toxic forests, potcrab farms and abandoned malls. These delicacies will grant health bonuses, power boosts and secret boons.
Bop along to a wonderfully upbeat soundtrack composed by Joel Corelitz (Death Stranding, Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan), with sound design from Irish studio, Hyperduck Soundworks (Dust: An Elysian Tail, Kingdom Rush)

ive never played eastward, but i have played octopia. and id say its a pretty damn good game. considering its not even a farming sim first and foremost, the devs did a phenomenal job + have been better than most in the genre 10/10 ill probs play the actual game one day

Couldn´t hold my attention very long, I thought I could give this a try on sale and still disappointed. Graphics are Top Notch but the story is super bland and boring, watched the rest on Youtube and I´m glad I didn´t played further. :-/ Graphics reminded me on Earthbound I hoped for an equal silly story but It was like a 4 year old wrote his first in the kindergarden.
I'm a bit mixed about the game, and seeing how many people stopped playing chapter by chapter, I don't think that's just me. The thing is — it starts out really interesting. It has this beautiful art style, quirky characters, fun enough gameplay, some riddles (at least those stay fine all the way to the end), and an interesting story hook with a mystery. Cool. Where does it all go wrong? Well, some chapters just don't drive the story forward. The game keeps throwing literally over a hundred quirky NPCs at you but develops none of them. It's quantity over quality by far. John is a silent protagonist and only Sam talks — she's cute and likeable, but there's just nothing else there. Chapter 3 especially was the first major decline — you do 3 "dungeons" to gather... ingredients for a dish for some guy who literally never matters again... or before... or at any other time for any reason. It felt like filler-slop fetch quests and took what felt like forever. Then Chapter 6 throws you onto a Hollywood satire train with mice and turns it into some sort of stealth game for a while. Zero story progress, just frustrating gameplay, no funny dialogue, nothing. It was tedious. Chapter 7 throws you into a time loop, making you pointlessly do the same quest 4 times, then randomly run around... There is just so much hit and miss — the weapons are another example. You get a flamethrower which is good for about 2 hours of mandatory usage to clear some bushes, and then you literally never use it again for anything. You get a late-game weapon as well for no reason, which serves no real purpose either. There is just so much stuff that wasn't well thought out. The music is also hit and miss — some tracks are fun and cool, while others are blaring and annoying. Overall, I'd still recommend it, but it's really more of a 7/10 with some cutesy stuff and Zelda-esque gameplay, which is rare enough to find, so it upped my enjoyment quite a bit — despite being overall rather flawed. You can use the cute art style as a solid foundation but it can't carry the entire game. And sometimes it felt like that's what they tried - just throw cute / quirky characters at you.
An Honest Review (No spoilers) My god I cant even begin to express how much I love this game. The pixel art, the whimsy, the story, the gameplay, EVERYTHING. After I finished the main story I spent weeks trying to find a game to compare or chase the high of this game, but could not find something similar. I really enjoyed everything from the visuals to hunting for answers to my questions online about the main story as it leaves you with so much to think about. The DLC for farming and more story is also just as fun and adorable and gives you even more gameplay. I highly recommend this game. I have nothing bad to say about it (this is of course my opinion) If you like story games, adventures, character development, whimsy, nostalgia, THIS IS IT.
