Eastern Block Summer is a hand-drawn, cozy hidden object game set in the nostalgic landscapes of the Eastern European countryside — a world shaped by warm memories, imagination, and old stories that never quite fade.
It’s a place that feels familiar and comforting, yet slightly odd in ways that are hard to explain.
The game is inspired by my childhood summers in the Polish countryside — long days spent outside, quiet afternoons, and moments where boredom turned into imagination.
Those summers were full of stories: half-believed folk tales, playful warnings, and strange creatures that lived more in your head than in the real world. Stories you weren’t sure were true, but never fully dismissed either.
Eastern Block Summer lives in that in-between space — between comfort and curiosity, where reality blends with imagination.
Each level is a hand-drawn, black-and-white illustration of everyday countryside life. Objects are hidden naturally within the environment, as if they were always part of the scene.
As you find them, the illustration slowly fills with color, revealing small details you might have missed at first glance.
You can zoom in and out, explore at your own pace, and take your time with each illustration. The experience is slow and relaxed, rewarding curiosity and attention rather than speed.
Eastern Block Summer uses no text, making it playable in any language. The world communicates through imagery, mood, and detail — much like folk tales passed down through glances, gestures, and half-finished sentences.
If you need help, gentle hints are available, showing how an object appears in the scene without breaking the calm atmosphere.
Eastern Block Summer is created by two people — an illustrator/designer and a developer.
This is our first project, shaped by nostalgia, folk tales, and the belief that childhood memories are never purely innocent — they are strange, beautiful, and sometimes a little frightening.

Great game. Awesome artwork and atmospheric art direction.
I love that this game is 100% handcrafted with no AI—you can really feel the soul in it. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, and the cozy atmosphere is the only thing that actually calms my ADHD. A perfect, nostalgic escape. Highly recommended!
I love the artwork and music! As someone who really enjoys a variety of hidden object games - and indie hand-drawn games, especially - this was a breath of fresh air! I love the culture, the variety of objects, and unique scenes to discover. Fun that it had achievements too, which the last couple HO indies I've played didn't have. :D
This game is fantastic and unique comparing to other hidden object games. Beautiful art, full of details, out-of-the box ideas, a bit mistical and mysterious. It fully captures the spirit of Slavic culture.
Lovely hidden object game. The aesthetic direction is very consistent, and it has undeniable charm. I find that the illustrations really put me in the Eastern European summer vibe. I was gladly surprised to find some variety within the "hidden object" mechanic. I was so entertained that I couldn't help but finish the entire game in one sitting. Looking forward to forgetting where everything is and playing it again! :D
Sweet and cozy experience with great artwork. Some of the pictures truly brought up childhood memories from vacations at grandma’s. Wholeheartedly recommend it.
It was nice to play, cozy arts that bring memories from childhood. I think my kiddo would like to play it.
A fun, cozy game with great artwork—no pressure, just chill.
Nice spin on hidden object genre - feels much more polished (pun intended) than most of typical ones. Atmosphere is cozy, I like the fact that we see only 5 at once to find, so there is less likely to click some others accidentally. Big variety of objects makes me want to find them because of curiosity, what next awaits. There could be more variety in music, because after a while this one cozy, but looped bgm is starting to be annoying. 10 levels are nicely done, artwork is really fine and readable, I liked how it colored itself after fiding object. Nice, cozy game for one hour.
Polecam pokolorowanie wszystkich poziomów :D ----------------------------------------------------- It may seem like a traditional point-and-click game, but there are a lot of positives: items are difficult to find and don't stand out from the rest of the illustrations, the levels are varied, and the illustrations gain color with each item found. Besides that, the illustrations have an interesting style. Weird - in the best sense of the word ;) And they definitely capture the atmosphere of summer in the countryside. All the mechanics work. They're simple and clear. The menu is picture-based, so there's no language barrier. My only complaint is the monotonous music, but you can turn it down and it blends into the background. I recommend coloring all the levels :D
