Earthtongue is a terrarium/ecosystem simulator. Watch an ecosystem grow, with minor interventions. Watch your minor interventions ♥♥♥♥ things up. Fix them for awhile, and learn how the various species relate to one another in the cycle of life. Restart and try new things in a world after understanding the rules.
I like the idea, but I wish the game gave you some info about what the hell is happening. When you introduce a new specie, you can´t even see the name of if in the layout, and you only get some vague information of their characteristics after it survived for 5000 years, so most of the time you don´t know anything about what´´s happening on your planet.
A game with no tutorial and no real concept of what's going on. It's a super slow game with little to no interaction, which ultimately for me makes the game dull and boring. It's basically an idle game where you don't really do a lot. Just sit and watch paint dry. From what I understand you must manage the level of minerals in the ground to grow fungus and keep insects alive and maintain that ecosystem. However it takes so long to gather points to spawn any fungus or spurts of rain, that everything dies before you even do anything. If you manage to trigger something, well thats all the gameplay you get until you have enough points again. I give this 1 egg out of 10

Perfect for [rpbably most other autistic folks : 9 Nice little passive play vivarium to watch and nudge in your desired direction once in a while. Somewhat akin to a more restricted Rimworld. Perfect for those whom love to watch something grow and thrive
Lovely little eco sim!! Really into the built in modding integration as well, no coding required.
아기자기한 미니 디지털 화분
This is better suited as a phone game if you like semi-idle games. I would NOT recommend buying it at full price on steam, wait for a sale if one comes around. I would recommend it at 2.00 or less honestly, it is too minimal of a game.
No rules. No tool tips. No thanks. I get that it's about learning about an alien environment, but why make it harder than it needs to be?
Earthtongue invokes the feeling of the early days of exploring nature as a child. Seeing fauna or flora you've never seen before in your life. Not even knowing what it's called or anything about it. So you observe. You sit and you wait. Maybe you go do something else for a bit and then come back later to check. Eventually, you notice something. You've recognized a behavior of the organism. You try feeding it something. Maybe relocating it somewhere. You repeat this cycle with more plants and creatures. You're still mostly an observer, but a curious one. You'll occasionally nudge things here and there, testing a new hypothesis. You've begun to form an understanding of the ecosystem around you. I know that Earthtongue has the potential to be a much deeper game than how I've played it. You can specifically curate an ecosystem based on your knowledge of the animal and plant life you've observed. You can design effectively closed terrariums for multiple different species. I did none of this. I chose to trigger random events. Over and over. Occasionally doing something more deliberate. For the sake of testing of course. I have yet to mention that this game is not just one ecosystem to explore. The base game features 3 incredibly unique options, and the workshop features a lot more. Yes, Earthtongue is also effectively a mini game engine for terrariums. Personal shoutout to "Earthwood Preserve" for being my favorite I've tried. Play this game, and then explore the the rest of developer junestrings' (formerly critterdust) work on other platforms. Trust me. :>
