7/10 The setting is good but i kinda hate the level design and the final levels are just bad/lame. Kinda overrated tbh.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 3/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Dusk is a 2018 FPS game developed by American developer David Szymanski and published by New Blood Interactive across a variety of platforms. It is an homage to a myriad of old-school shooters, from Blood and Redneck Rampage to Quake, Doom, Half-Life, and Duke Nukem, among others. That is not to say Dusk doesn’t have any original ideas or mechanics of its own. What about the plot? The plot in old-school shooters is often an afterthought, but it is present nevertheless. The gist is you are a treasure hunter who goes by the name of the Dusk Dude or the Intruder, who finds himself opposing a strange Lovecraftian cult that uses research labs and factories in the town in an attempt to harness the magic of the ruins underneath the farmlands and sacrifices people to extract power from the minced remains. Graphics-wise, Dusk is a modern game, made on the Unity engine to look like a late 1990s-early 2000s FPS, but with modern lighting, physics, and a load of customisability. You can make it look as old and pixelated as you want! Like most other shooters of the time, it draws inspiration from the idea of wielding an entire arsenal of weapons, including many dual-wielded, such as the trademark sickles, pistols, and shotguns. You have your double-barrel, your workhorse machine gun with low damage output, but high firing rate, an enemy and wall-piercing crossbow, a hunting rifle, a riveter that shoots explosive rivets, and a mortar. On top of that, you’ve got multiple power-ups, from the ones that make time move only as you move, Superhot-style, to the ones that make you shoot faster. Then, the map design. It is simply one of the best I’ve seen in any old-school FPS, or FPS in general, which slowly goes from seemingly normal to increasingly bizarre, confusing, and gothic-inspired. True to its roots, Dusk lets you have non-regenerating health and puts an emphasis on movement speed, while removing fall damage. Finally, there are lots of secrets, some well hidden, others not so much, for the players to find, scattered on the maps, and even a possibility to beat the levels without killing any enemies, earning you the Pacifist achievement. On the audio side, Dusk features a collection of tracks, some limited phrases and dialogue. The music, ambient sounds, and enemy noises turn the game into an extremely atmospheric and even eerie experience at times. The weapons sound impactful and powerful, the enemies - menacing, and the protagonist - silent, which is pretty typical. All in all, excellent across the board. In conclusion, Dusk is one of the best examples of the latest trend of retro-inspired shooters, which pays a respectful homage to the OGs of yesteryear while also standing on its own. Fast-paced vicious combat? Check. Fast movement speed? Check. Secrets? Check. Different levels /and environments? Check. Various enemy types? Check. Boss-battles? Check. References and inside jokes? Check - Dusk has it all. It is highly recommended.
Its only 3pm tho
This is my second New Blood game (The first is ULTRAKILL btw :3). It's a very good game. Plus all the dlcs are nice (and free!). This is a must-have for any boomer shooter fan out there
It is a very good game. The gameplay itself is excellent, there are lots of secrets, but most interestingly the game manages to maintain tension. There were moments when I was genuinely afraid to look around the corner.
peak movement
