Fluid, fun, great variety of maps. Lots of difficulty, graphics and other options. It just bangs.

If you like Blood, Doom or even Resident Evil this is a must. Aside from it being a top tier shooter, it's also just a fantastic game outside of the genre. The sound, music, gameplay is all on point but what makes this boomer stand out is the level design, DUSK really does exceed in keeping it fresh, the pacing is decent. Some levels are open, serious sam blaster style arenas, villages involving close quarter gun slinging, poking in and out of doorways, meerkat style, never gets old. Weapons are good, sounds are good, atmosphere is immersive. The graphics are stylised so don't be expecting AAA high rendering, high pixel, razmataz here, it's more akin to Quake HD with deliberate lower polygon counts to give it that 90s retro vibe. Don't think great graphics but great level design. Each of the three chapters comprises of 11 levels {one secret one in each chapter), making for a grand total of 33 levels across the campaign. Heavily inspired by 90s shooters, DUSK brings you a wide verity of places to explore and I couldn't help but scratch my head after searching every nook and cranny, yet still surprisingly miss many secret areas. I can safely say, before completing this game that this is a top draw. it's probably up there with the classics Doom, Duke Nukem 3D and Quake? Which is no mean feat considering their critically acclaimed impact on FPS at large. Time will tell but I think this might go down as a cult classic, DUSK seems to have set a marker, in that it has brought the Boomer Shooter genre back into the limelight. There are some fantastic FPS similar to this, that have come about since, again inspired by the classics but DUSK remains a must Likely it will remain high on peoples lists and recommended for years to come. Do check up how to get to the secret levels too, they're as good as any in the main chapters levels. I'm playing the game on 'hurt me plenty' difficulty and taking my time on areas, not quite permadeath but one life per level is a nice sweet spot, I'd recommend starting out. Userscore 8.9 Note: On completion I wouldn't change the review above, the game is overall pretty solid. I might add that the ending is a little underwhelming.

How have I forgotten to review DUSK? Get it. Play it. It's amazing, it's awesome. It easily establishes itself alongside the old greats like Doom and Quake. Gunplay is amazing, movement is BEAUTIFUL, environments are spectacular, YOU CAN INSTAKILL MONSTERS WITH SOAP. It's both a great choice for fans of the genre and a great entry point for people looking to get into 90s-style shooters. So grab your scythes [which can deflect projectiles if you time your swing right] and PREPARE TO ENTER THE HORROR

Dusk is a perfect mix between horror, unease, difficulty, rats, and endless violence, packed with secrets and various levels filled with enemies, I loved slaughtering my way through this game with the surprise of tables being turned every so often, this game is as quick as the player makes, with the choice of thoroughly exploring each wall of a level or bhopping to the end in 10 seconds, certainly worth running through, and good luck on duskmare
