Dungeon Rummage - Survival is a cute, cozy game. It combines crafting, gathering, and RPG mechanics to create a simple but incredibly enjoyable experience. The game is fairly short, but this means it never becomes tedious, and you're always making some kind of progress towards your goal of upgrading your campsite and/or gear. Progress is smooth, and never feels tiring. You're always improving and after two or three trips into the dungeon, you're going to upgrade or unlock something new. There are many QoL features as well, like a goblin that allows you to convert materials into others, which means that you can still farm items you don't need, and it won't be a waste of time. This is greatly appreciated and a welcome breath of fresh air. The enemies are fun, and I like all the different variations to their attacks and types. Some will attack you, some will use magic, and others will protect themselves. The snail, my favourite of the enemies, is basically a DPS check; once it reaches you. it explodes and deals tremendous damage, but you can survive if you're healthy enough. The ending is also really cute, and made me chuckle. The game is well worth your time if you're looking for something light, casual, and addicting. Absolutely, check it out.
Dungeon Rummage Survival is a pretty good game if you are just looking to get that satisfaction of completion in a short bite-size experience (or if you're an achievement hunter). In about 2 hours I was able to complete the game to my satisfaction, though there was still more left to be done, such as an optional challenge mode as well as more upgrades that could be made to my camp. One disappointing part of the experience can sometimes be the repetition. Perhaps I wasn't optimizing my usage of materials very well, but it seemed like I would need to repeat each new section of the unlocked dungeon about 3 times before I could conquer the boss and proceed to the next area. This repetition of doing each area multiple times could feel a little bit too repetitive due to a lack of random events. I only encountered 2 random events; a mysterious door and a loot goblin. I would love to see more random events occur so that the repetition of each room doesn't feel so stagnant. Overall, for the price, I think it's worth it. I nominate this game to be Steam's 2025 Sit Back and Relax Steam award!

Warning: this game is highly addicting (the good kind of addicting)! Dungeon Rummage - Survival is a game that's hard to put down once you get into it. The gameplay itself keeps your frosty. I love the crafting system; it feels very rewarding and satisfying to gather materials and create useful items to help you stay alive. The sense of progression is great, and the gameplay is challenging in a good way because it makes you want to keep grinding and gathering resources to upgrade your stats and create useful items to help you survive as you rummage in the dungeon and battle tough enemies. At times, I found myself genuinely strategizing about my next move, which made the game really engaging. Overall, it is a fun way to spend some time, especially if you enjoy survival mechanics and RPG elements! I haven't run into any bugs so far either, which is awesome!
Having a lot of fun with this. Its short and sweet. Simple mechanics and a nice way to chill for an hour or two. Well worth the price, absolutely recommend it.
The game is a cozy play kind of game. Something you get to kill an hour or two. There's no major story, other than you are just trying to gather supplies and build up your little base for better stats. Secret areas that pop up from time to time for extra materials. Special enemies you can catch and slay for bonus goods. Combat itself is very simplistic and easy to understand. In fact, the whole game is simplistic. I do not see this as a bad thing though, as it does have it's finer points. For the cost of the game, and how it is designed purely for you to jump in and kind of turn your brain off to just fight-gather-die-gather more and repeat, you certainly get your money's worth. Falling in combat is not a game over either. It simply sends you back to your base with a small penalty to all the materials you gathered. The penalty isn't so huge to discourage you either, so it doesn't feel like a terrible progression loss. Got some time to kill? Then go rummage through the dungeon!
Dungeon Rummage is a quick, fun little game that doesn't overstay its welcome. If you're looking for a couple of hours of gaming, it's worth giving a try. The power progression is satisfying, and the bosses are difficult enough to ensure the game doesn't feel too easy. The addition of a merchant NPC to trade one kind of resource for another stops the game from becoming too grindy, so that your camp and equipment upgrades never seem to take too long to get, but nor do they come too quickly. The dungeons themselves are fairly straight forward, but the random appearance of bonus areas with extra resources give them just enough of a change that it doesn't become too repetitive repeating the dungeon for resources (that and the balance of how you gain resources is great to begin with). There's no real story to the game, but that gives it a simple charm in a way. It doesn't try to be more than it is: a quick, pleasant experience. 10/10 Will Play again.
fun but achievements don't work also only takes about 2-3 hours to complete 1 run
A cool concept at a very modest price / time investment (it took me 2-1/2-ish hours for a full playthrough on a pre-release version of the game). Has somewhat of a "chill vibe" quality, rather than being one of those stress-inducing survival experiences where every little detail needs to be micromanaged. A crafting RPG at heart, with survival themes and mechanics woven in. Most of the game play is spent gathering materials, or using said materials to craft upgrades or supplies, with combat being a bit less integral. Not that the battles are lacking, as they are pretty decent, but there are few points in the game where defeating roaming enemies has much value, so I prefer to save resources for the boss encounters. I'd definitely like to see this concept expanded upon; the upgrade system is purely linear, whereas I think branching upgrades could be neat. I would also like to see more of the semi-random events like rare enemy spawns, secret rooms, etc. as it can get a tad repetitive traversing the same areas multiple times. And I wouldn't complain about better rewards from enemies, especially the more difficult fights. However, the pace of upgrades is brisk so no particular part of the game overstays its welcome, and the progression itself is satisfying, especially if you are the type of RPG player who likes to bully early game enemies once you've leveled up a bunch. IMO, not groundbreaking, but worth a look for fans of any of the various genres this is inspired by.
Dungeon Rummage - Survival may be a smaller game (a few hours of playtime, good for the price) but it is definitely not for the faint of heart. Upper dungeon floors serve as an gentle introduction, allowing players to familiarize themselves with the mechanics without feeling overwhelmed. As you progress deeper into the dungeon, the challenge increases. Enemies become more formidable, and resource management becomes crucial. And the end of each floor is a boss you must defeat in order to proceed, so you'll want to make sure you're prepared to throw everything at them. Players need to strategically gather materials and upgrade their camp to enhance stats, craft potions, and prepare for tougher enemies. You will not make it through the dungeon on your first, or even your fifth attempt, you have to work your way up in power with new weapons, armor, and consumables. Overall, Dungeon Rummage - Survival strikes a balance between accessibility and challenge. It's designed to be a relaxing experience, but it still requires thoughtful planning and strategy, especially in the later stages. This makes it suitable for both casual players looking for a laid-back diversion and those seeking a bit more challenge.
