Dungeon Gals is so good. I wish lesbians were real...
🐭disclaimer: we helped Doric with advice about various programming issues that came up throughout development and got into the credits for it. however, we didn't see any of the game outside of the demos, only code snippets and descriptions of issues that gave no insight on where they were in the game, so we had no idea what to expect going in what do I say? doric cooked big time with this one >:3 the story starts off subtly but quickly becomes engaging, and you're sitting there going "ok what is this building up to" and it makes you just want to keep going to find out hehe most of the puzzles are really cool but some of them are sicko so be ready for that!! also you will have to write some stuff down, but unlike la-mulana, puzzle hints seem to be relative just to the stage they're in, so it's a lot more approachable. we think it's definitely like, if you're curious about such a tricky game like la mulana, you can play this one first and if you like it, you'll be ready for that also, gay girls!!!! what a legendary throuple hehe we beat the game but we're definitely gonna go back and try to find everything! (🦨by the way, I somehow managed to get
a fourth law of the sun
in there. you're welcome)

A very enjoyable puzzle platformer with lovely visuals and music. You'd think having to swap between characters to traverse the dungeons would be tedious, but it's usually very clear on who you need for each puzzle. There were a couple times where I thought I could predict which character I needed and had to do the walk of shame back to the swap pad, but those times were rare. Combat was also fairly simple and smooth, even on keyboard controls. But if that's not your thing you can use the accessibility menu to make enemies less threatening, among other things. I did have a slight issue when fighting one of the early game bosses. Mainly issues dodging one of the attacks due to the HUD partially obstructing it. My workaround at the time was to disable the HUD to see more of the screen, but that also hid the healthbars. However, after watching some preview footage of said boss fight I realized I could have just
used Rosa to deflect the projectiles
during that attack. Definitely my fault for not remembering that, and I did not have issues with any of the other bosses. Overall a very pleasant experience and I look forward to seeing what DoricDream does in the future.
Very fun level-based platform game with a focus on puzzles and exploration. Great level design, full of clever and balanced puzzles where you have to use each of the 3 protagonists' abilities. There are enemies and boss fights as well, but the fact that you can basically get an infinite amount of healing items kinda ruins the balance unless you limit yourself on purpose (the only thing I didn't love in an otherwise fantastic game). Visuals and characters are great and there's plenty of cute gay moments.
Really really beautiful game. Full of heart, incredibly well put together. Story wise, it's main focus is emotional connection, it wants you to feel for the characters involved, and I love that. Gameplay, it's an absolutely lovingly put together collection of puzzles that keep you immersed in the world and constantly needing to think through things, without ever being unapproachably hard. The bosses are all pretty interesting, trying to figure out how to use your three characters, and I loved all the little animations that gave each of the gals a real personality. Worth your time, seriously
i love how gay and authentic and earnest both the game itself and the characters are
a true dungeon gal yearn for the treasure and the trap equally... good game!
I think this might be the gayest puzzle platformer I've ever played. Recommended.
Dungeon Gals is quite a fun adventure that pulls some clever tricks out of the good old character-switching puzzle platformer format. And they're great lovable gals to spend the time with; neat characterful animations. Music's a delight throughout, catchy with that FM funk.
the puzzles were fun - not too easy, but not so obtuse as to be frustrating; a good balance. the combat is neat and leave some room for expression with what character you use for a given situation. the writing is good too! the girls are all very sweet and wonderful and there's a lot of real, human moments that should be hard to write, but came out very heartfelt and genuine. and oh my goodness the music is incredible! wonderful game, recommending it to all my friends - and anyone reading this.
