About
Dune: Awakening is an epic Open World Survival Game where you get to fully immerse yourself in one of science fiction’s most iconic worlds.
You have been chosen by the Bene Gesserit to go to Arrakis as their agent and uncover the mystery of the missing Fremen. Visit locations such as Arrakeen and Hagga Basin and meet familiar characters such as Duke Leto Atreides and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, as you unravel an epic Dune story never told before: yours.
Whether you prefer to play alone or with friends, Dune: Awakening gives you the opportunity to explore a vast, open world Arrakis brimming with secrets to discover, stories to investigate, gadgets to craft, vehicles to assemble, and bases to build. You choose which path to take as you rise from survival to greatness.
Avoid the roaming sandworms. Seek shadows to stay out of the scorching sun. Study the slow blade or learn to master the powers of the Mentat and Bene Gesserit. Build a modest home or a massive base and decorate it to reflect your character’s unique personality. Climb mountains or craft your ornithopter and take to the skies.
Dune: Awakening gives you a living, breathing Dune on a scale never seen before.
Discover a dynamic and immersive Arrakis, from the rolling sand dunes of the Deep Desert to hidden Fremen caves and the bustling city streets of Arrakeen. Climb towering mountains with the Shigawire hook and fly across sandworm-infested deserts in an ornithopter you built yourself. Escape the destructive might of the massive sandstorms towering above you as they sweep across the landscape, then take a quiet moment to witness the beauty of Arrakis when the sun is low.
In Dune: Awakening, you get to step into the books and movies and experience one of science fiction’s most incredible worlds up close. Join the Atreides or the Harkonnen and rise through their ranks as you explore their unique stories. Meet familiar characters such as Duke Leto and Feyd-Rautha, investigate the mysterious disappearance of the Fremen, and discover the truth about your own past. Unravel an epic, cinematic Dune story that asks the mind-bending question: what if Paul Atreides was never born?
Arrakis is a test that few survive. Those who do, awaken. Learn to survive the unique climate of Arrakis, chasing shade and extracting liquid from the bodies of your enemies to refine it into water. Study the teachings of the Schools of the Imperium to unlock a powerful repertoire of abilities, weapons, and tools. Wield the Trooper’s unparalleled firepower, use the Bene Gesserit voice to control your enemies, deploy the Mentat’s deceptive traps, or master the Swordmaster’s unique dance of death.
Carve out your own piece of Arrakis and build your personal base of operations. From small outposts to elaborate and towering strongholds, build everything piece-by-piece in the Atreides or Harkonnen style, or any of the other available architectural styles, and decorate it to reflect your personality. Equip it with powerful crafting machines and spice refineries and watch your power and fortune grow. Craft anything from useful desert-survival gadgets to entire vehicles such as ground cars and ornithopters.
Play alone, with friends, or head into the wider world filled with hundreds of other players and engage in the politics of Arrakis. Host your own server, rent one from a third-party provider, or play on an official server. A full single-player mode will arrive on September 22nd, along with many other additions and improvements.

At first, Dune Awakening had me fully converted. I was out there, fremen-dipping across the dunes, whispering "I am the Kwisatz Haderach of looting crates" while the main quest actually felt epic. The story slaps harder than a Bene Gesserit voice command, the world looks gorgeous, and for the first 10-15 hours I was having a blast. Sand in my boots? Acceptable. Occasional panic when the ground rumbled? Chef's kiss. Then I unlocked vehicles. Bro. It went from "survive the deadly planet of Arrakis" to "Excel spreadsheet: The Game" faster than a Guild Navigator folding space. Suddenly the sun isn't trying to cook me anymore, sandworms are basically endangered cryptids that show up once every blue moon for a selfie, and I'm just driving in circles like a depressed delivery driver collecting the same 47 pieces of scrap metal for the 400th time. The survival elements got ghosted harder than Duncan Idaho. I went from "OH GOD THE WORM IS COMING, DROP THE THUMPER" to "yeah whatever, I'm just gonna park my ornithopter on its head while I tab out and watch TikTok." The game remembers you're on Arrakis about as well as the Emperor remembers his promises. Pros: Main quest is actually good (rare W) Early game survival vibes are strong Giant sandworms still look terrifying when they bother to appear Cons: Post-vehicle life is pure, unfiltered grind The desert stops feeling dangerous and starts feeling like a really big, inconvenient parking lot My character went from chosen one to professional fetch boy real quick TL;DR: If they trimmed the endgame loop and kept the survival tension going, this would be a 9/10 desert masterpiece. Instead it's a solid "I had fun until it became a second job" experience. Still recommending it if you love Dune and can quit right after the main story like a responsible adult. Would still ride the worm again... just not for 80 more hours of crafting rare alloy #37.
Enjoy the grind
This game came above my expectations. Although it is more fun with a friend or a guild (group) it is still so much fun solo. I would highly reccomend this game. 9/10
吸血鬼晒太阳会死,人类在厄拉科斯星上晒太阳也会死,好想让吸血鬼来晒厄拉科斯星的太阳啊。
It is quite a good game, following the detail and lore of the book series, rather than Hollywood's Dune. I've enjoyed the PVE aspect of the game, and I'm glad they're fixing the PVP problem and giving us single player, which will allow me to do what I want without having to worry about other players. Thanks Funcom!
i just found out that this game's tutorial is 30 hours... im gonna be here for a while
The first 100 hours of this game are some of the best I've ever experienced in gaming. Dune: Awakening does a phenomenal job of balancing its survival aspect and story while keeping them feeling connected, and the game (at that level) supports many different play styles well with its unique array of classes and abilities. The endgame is weaker, though recent patches have helped with this. The PVE-ization of the end game areas have made the game more appealing to the normal gamer. Funcom has added additional content as well, though the dungeon-grinding playstyle mixed with a survival game (which includes permanent durability reduction of items) is not the most harmonious match ever. The primary lacking point is the social aspect. Guilds exist, but recruiting and socializing are difficult without directly knowing someone IRL or without joining large discord servers. Maybe this has been fixed, but dungeons have, in the past, been detrimental to group play and have been easier to complete solo. This game would benefit greatly from a queue system or from a team-up social hub for dungeons. Additional multiplayer focused content would also be greatly beneficial to the longevity of this game (ex. raids, group events, etc).
I've been putting this one off for a long time due to reviews and talk but im glad i finally jumped in. Some say combat is terrible, i actually really like it. Grind sets in, and then you get a boost. Kills take a few more shots, you forgot to upgrade. Building is awesome, though i wish it was a little faster. Try it out on sale and i highly doubt you'll be disappointed.
