Endgame soft-locked by a bug, no fix in sight (in the game's Discord server, they said a patch would roll out a few months ago, but you can guess that hasn't happened and probably never will). I also had an awful bug in one of the game's shops. A lot of other bugs have been reported in the server, yet no one has done anything about it.
The game is completely broken and there are dozens of softlocks which have yet to be fixed
It's okay but kind of a buggy mess.
Solid entry in the Duck Life series and the biggest one yet! There are a couple of bugs here and there (and there arn't enough PC options in my opinion), but not only does this game play pretty well for the most part, but this is now the first Duck Life game on Steam with Cloud and Achievement support! Here are some things I would like to be added in future updates: -More resolution options (the game can only go down to 800p currently with no 4:3 option -A map for each location (the sunflower location was pretty hard to navigate) -The ability to redo the final race against [REDACTED] Duck (It was fun doing it in older games). -Better controller support (Controller support is still buggy for UI elements, forcing me to use a mouse in some areas. With the game now on Switch, I'm sure that full controller support might be possible. Once again though, great game! Can't wait to see more from the Duck Life series in the future!
The game sometimes softlocks when I try to upgrade houses, forcing a restart (apparently this is because I finished building my first ruby site and upgrade other stuffs, which also softlocks the game when I tried to view OR close it). Also, during the mine cart minigame (which is needlessly difficult), the countdown appears more than one time. I like the game's concept, but there are a lot of glitches. I hope they can be fixed. Edit: It also softlocked when I tried to upgrade a tent when the only tent that's unupgraded belongs to a duck that's at school. Edit 2: Somehow, Trying to proceed to the last hat store page ALSO softlocks the game (I sent a screenshot online). This persists even after restarting game. Also, I may not buy any shoes, all shoes are shown as purple blocks. Edit 3: The ENTIRE post game is also unplayable. I just uninstalled after this cause I don't think I'll come back after it's (and all other softlocks) fixed, if it ever will be.
Buggy mess with lots of softlocks.
Its like the first 8 games.... but better More ducks More training More goofy references nobody understands except like 10 people you build a whole aah city 9 ducks out of 10
This game was so fun that I named my duck after a Middle Eastern dictator and imagined that the game was an isekai of said dictator living a second life. I am a normal person.
fun
I almost wanted to try and beat this game before writing a negative review, but the crystal mines minigame made me realize that I was wasting my time playing something I didn't enjoy. The training is annoying. The games are either too hard or boring, or both, and constantly full of bugs. Customization comes in far too late. The artstyle... is bad. The 2D ducks in #D graphics don't look great, and the ducks almost veer into uncanny valley territory. (Why do they move so humanlike sometimes?) Also, I didn't really enjoy the flock aspects of the game. If I wanted to manage a group of animals, I'd play Cult of the Lamb, but I'm here for Duck Life.
