Thanks to the iMARECULTURE project, you can virtually dive into the 3D reconstructions of 3 of the most beautiful UW archaeological sites of the Mediterranean Sea: the UW Archaeological Park of Baiae (Naples, Italy), the Phoenician shipwreck of Xlendi (Gozo, Malta) and the Mazotos Shipwreck (Cyprus)
Experienced on the Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality
So this works fine on the Oculus Rift and WMR, except for one issue. Where it says to select you have to click trigger and push in on the joystick at the same time on Oculus and click trigger and push in on the touchpad on WMR. Other than that though, it is a one to one translation of the controls listed for the HTC Vive. Keep in mind, there is no snap or smooth turning (you can turn while on the submarine). So I recommend playing standing. This is a mostly educational experience. You can go underwater to see the 3D reconstruction of the geological sites, however, diving is of the point with trigger to get there variety. You can also select to see 2D videos explaining the geological site and history while waiting for the experience to load. There are two different experiences. One is for Baiae, Italy (sunken town) and one is for Xlendi, Malta (shipwreck). You can select 360 videos to show while diving or sound while diving for Baiae. However, it seemed to me that the 360 video was getting cut out at times so it's probably better to select sound. Also, the 360 video was more difficult to understand due to the poor English pronunciation, while the sound mode is just a robotic tone. The Xlendi 360 video was easier to understand, but the submarine was very difficult to control, especially since it is so dark. You can change view to real color mode and that is helpful in actually seeing the site. I would recommend this for anyone interested in this subject matter. I would say it's a pass if you're thinking this is a VR underwater adventure. It is not. The actual archaeological sites have been eroded by time and the water so there isn't really much to see. There is an artistic recreation though in the Baiae dive. Rate ?/10. For archaeology nerds this is a must download.

Dry Visit - Virtual Underwater Visit - iMARECulture is a free VR educational experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. Has many 2D video interviews with Europeans people that speak English as a second language. Has two different dive simulations using VR, but the scuba dive didn't start for me, the sub ride was hard to reach the waypoints. There is two archaeological dive sites to learn about. This experience take around 30 minutes to an hour to complete. One 360 degree video had some audio mistakes but was still ok. It was hard to see while diving, but i guess that would be like the real thing. The devs need to playtest and refine the coding of the Dive simulations on the HTC VIve gear. Try this, if you like ancient history.
Very nice peek into what VR documentaries could be, this one pertaining to underwater archaeology. It's rough around the edges in some places and its not very long but it is a good start and I hope this company continues and gets better. This kind of stuff is going to be some of the most exciting applications for VR for me.
iMARECULTURE projesi sayesinde, Akdeniz'in en güzel UW arkeolojik alanlarından 3'ünün 3 boyutlu rekonstrüksiyonlarına sanal olarak dalabilirsiniz: Baiae UW Arkeoloji Parkı (Napoli, İtalya), Xlendi Fenike gemi batığı (Gozo, Malta) ve Mazotos Gemi Batığı (Kıbrıs)
Очень неплохо, познавательно, но для англоговорящих больше.
Ugly 360 video. Not recommended.
Before I played Dry Visit - Dive into underwater archaeological sites - iMARECulture, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
This was a great experience and would recommend it to others who like history in general and Mediterranean history in particular.
