Drunken Wrestlers 2 – Stupid Physics, Brutal Hits & Surprisingly Deep Combat
My Rating: ★★★☆☆ (2,8/5)

First Impressions
I’ve always loved physics sandbox games (Sumotori Dreams, Toribash etc.). So when I saw a fighting game built entirely around active ragdoll physics, I knew I had to try it. 11.1 hours later and every achievement unlocked. Most of that time was just putting on music and beating the absolute s*** out of bots. And honestly? That was enough.
Combat – Chaotic but Controllable
The combat looks completely random at first. It isn’t. You can aim punches and kicks with surprising precision, especially toward extremities for maximum impact. Timing, perfect blocks, stamina management and mixups all matter. Bots on higher difficulties are actually sweaty and will destroy you if you just mash buttons. There is a real skill ceiling here. A good player can hard-punish almost everything. The difference between someone who understands the game and someone who doesn’t is massive. Of course you still occasionally ragdoll for no reason and look like an idiot. That’s part of the charm.
Gore & Satisfaction
This is the dopamine. A clean spinning backfist can send a head flying across the arena. Limbs detach. Bodies fold in ways they shouldn’t. The gore isn’t just shock value – it makes every heavy hit feel earned and extremely satisfying. Stupid. Brutal. Hilarious.
The Downsides
The scoring system can feel weird. You can land two devastating hits and still lose on points because of multipliers. I would’ve preferred a stronger focus on actual knockouts. Biggest issue though: the playerbase is small. Finding populated lobbies isn’t always easy, which is a shame because this would be an incredible party game with friends. Workshop support exists and has potential (custom maps, modifiers, harder hits etc.), but it needs more people creating content.
Final Thoughts
Drunken Wrestlers 2 looks like pure meme trash. Underneath the chaos sits responsive combat with actual depth, perfect blocks, stamina and a solid skill ceiling. For €3.99 it’s an easy recommend if you enjoy physics-based fighting, ridiculous ragdolls or just want something stupid and fun to mess around with. I had a great time. Whether I come back regularly depends on the community and future Workshop content, new content or Achievements. Chaotic, surprisingly deep, and very funny when it clicks.
