Another game with great potential abandoned by builkhead
thumbs up when promod gets released
we need pvp !!
Call of Duty 4 but you speedrun levels with epic aim and movement. The challenge and level design keeps you trying harder to get at least 3 Star times as you go through each collection of maps, along with the separate movement only levels which can only be completed with the right movement knowledge. If you ever got into CoD4/ProMod or any of the other OG CoDs that ran on the iDTech 3 engine, then give this game a go. Especially for its price. very cool very fun very satisfying
It's a crime that this game has such low reviews, mostly because people are upset about the multiplayer mode being scrapped. If you judge it for what it is—a single-player time attack shooter & platformer—then it's incredibly well made. Inspired by CoD4 movement, the fluid mechanics and level design are top-notch. It might look simple, but once you get used to the fast-paced movement, it feels amazing. Easily one of my favorite first-person movement games, right up there with Neon White and Verlet Swing. It's an absolute steal at full price, and honestly, I'd pay even more! 🚀🎯
HERE IS THE TRUTH ABOUT BULKHEAD AND WHY YOU SHOULD NOT SUPPORT THEM OR BUY THEIR GAME REGARDLESS OF HOW GOOD OR BAD THE GAME IS. This review is MY Battalion 1944 review, but since the review is almost entirely about the developer and not the game-play itself, I am going to just copy paste from that store page. It all still applies, already bulkhead has tried pulling nonsense with Killrun and the kick starter debacle that was Battalion still is ongoing and not resolved for many players of that game. This review amassed nearly 7k reviews, the most popular by far on Battalions review page. Bulkhead eventually lobbied to have steam hide it from the front page. Please up-vote again so that all current and prospective players can see just what kind of developer they are getting in bed with. Here it is: "Literally the scummiest developer I have ever encountered. I was a Kickstarter backer who waited months post steam release for a key and never received one. I tried contacting this garbage company in so many ways i lost count. Finally I got fed up and went to complain on Steam Community. One of the developers actually tried to talking to me which seemed great, until that dev immediately became hostile and refused to help get me the key i paid for, because it was somehow my fault they never sent me a key for a product I had paid for. All of my info had been up to date the whole time and I had responded to every survey and email they sent me. After an unbelievably hostile and long conversation with one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met, I got so fed up I threatened to release the whole conversation and incident anywhere I could. The developer responded with even more belligerence and rudeness but surprise, surprise thanks to the threat of bad face I immediately received a key. Basically I was an idiot who wished for a fantastic new WW2 shooter to play with friends. Dont be an idiot like me, stay far, far away from battalion 1944, and stay even farther away from anything current or future coming from Bulkhead Interactive. Edit: They are offering refunds to kickstarter backers. A small silver lining for a very troubled and disappointing game. EDIT:edit: They denied me my refund. LMAO I think this is all that needs to be said. F this dev. F the publisher. Never trust early access or crowd funded projects boys. aint worth it." That's it Yes I still have never received a refund from them. Its easy to assume with how malicious this developer is that they realized who specifically was asking for a refund. I am their public enemy number one, the guy with the most up-voted negative review on their store page and as a result they chose to refuse me a refund out of pettiness. I still have all the screenshots from that developers disgusting behavior and the life-cycle (or lack thereof) for Battalion speaks for itself. They abandoned that one to try and scam gamers with a new ip. Ill repeat it again STAY AWAY FROM BULKHEAD PAST PRESENT OR FUTURE.
TL;DR
KILLRUN is merely a shadow of its former self, that being PROMOD. But even so, there's something worth checking out here if you're an old-school CoD player that enjoyed mods like CoDJumper. Unless you're apart of this super niche group of people, I'd recommend steering away from this game.
KILLRUN only gives you a TASTE of what PROMOD was meant to be.
KILLRUN does a GREAT job at replicating how CoD4 felt. Wallrunning, strafes, bounces, vaulting, it all feels nearly identical to CoD4, even down to the little details such as weapon animations. You can really feel that this game was made with passion, and that fun, along with competitiveness were at this game's very core. The KILLRUN map packs never get stale, Jumper is a fun (even if occasionally frustrating) mode, and the training facility teaches you just about everything it should whilst having all the necessary tools for practice. All of this sounds great, so why is nobody talking about KILLRUN and why should the majority of people stay away from this game? KILLRUN was originally a side mode to the main game, that being PROMOD. But PROMOD was cut a little too short because BULKHEAD decided that they want to pursue other ventures. So they left their aspirations of a multiplayer competitive shooter to rot. I can't give this game a negative review, because it really is good at its core. I really wanted this game to succeed, hence why it sucks to see such a small portion of it realised. But even with all the DLC that was added later on, it's still nothing but a hollow shell of what once was.
Phenomenal speedrunning game. Maybe the best one ever made.
Хорошая попытка воссоздания мувмента и стрельбы из CoD4 на анриле. Один режим это дрочь с убийствами ботов на время, а второй это CoDJumper без РПГ. Даже есть пукалки из CoD4 с родными анимациями.
