About
Step into the space between dreams.
Dreamcore is a psychological exploration game that immerses you in the haunting beauty of the largest liminal spaces ever created in a video game. With no guides, no direction, and no escape but the one you carve for yourself, the key lies in observation and intuition. Will you keep your bearings in a world designed to make you lose them?
Dreampools: A surreal maze of endless pools, dimly lit by artificial glow. The tiled walls glisten with reflections, amplifying the stillness of the water. No sound accompanies you but the distant drip of water and the echo of your own footsteps. Narrow hallways twist into grand, open chambers, interconnected without apparent logic. The dreamlike calm is absolute, yet the unease never fully fades—an unseen presence always lingers at the edges of your awareness.
Eternal Suburbia: A neighborhood frozen in an eerie, artificial tranquility. Row upon row of identical houses stretch into infinity, each façade a mirror of the last. But once inside, the illusion fractures—hallways loop into themselves, and the once-cozy interiors become an unsettling puzzle. Time flows in cycles of day and night, the warm hum of vintage jazz filling the air during daylight. Yet, instead of comfort, the melodies deepen the isolation. As dusk falls and the shadows stretch long, a single question takes root: are you truly alone in this place?
Playrooms: A sequence of spaces inspired by children’s play areas, recreated with an artificial and silent aesthetic. Throughout the map, you’ll explore padded rooms, plastic castle structures, ball-filled corridors, netted tunnels, oversized blocks, and printed city carpets. Each area follows the logic of childhood entertainment but is stripped of functionality or human presence. There are no instructions, no sounds, and no clear direction; progression is entirely up to the player.

Liminal Hotel presents the definitive version of the famed “Level 188” Backrooms meme, offering a wide variety of styles within its rooms. Using elevators, you’ll traverse the hotel floor by floor, and as you descend, you’ll notice the hotel’s atmosphere becoming increasingly unstuck in time.

Dead Mall lets players loose on a nightmarish plaza with all the staples of childhood shopping, but contorted into an uncanny ordeal. Delve into its subliminal arcade, parking lot, food court, and bevy of isolated shops.
Every level in Dreamcore is a standalone experience that offers a unique blend of exploration and atmosphere. Two additional maps have already been added, and a final map is currently in development, further expanding the game’s world. Early players will receive all future maps at no extra cost.

i love how this game shows that you can get scared by nothing, the horror of this game without monsters is such a cool thing, this game focuses on backrooms type stuff [ofc] and is prob one of the best backrooms games of all
I'm giving this a thumbs up, but tbh I don't think I actually liked this game much. The first level, Dreampools, was so good and I loved exploring it for hours, and I was excited to continue...but it really all goes downhill from there. The next few missions all add objectives and trick puzzles instead of being pure exploration and tbh they kinda suck. The final exploration level wasn't that good. I don't think I'd ever pick this up again, but if you can get it real cheap the first level is good for a couple hours of liminal exploration Eternal Suburbia I actually flew threw the first several areas of the level in like 25 minutes and then hit a brick wall at the final Neighborhood area because I just could not figure out what it wanted me to do, so after an hour and a half I looked up a walkthrough and it turns out you need to loop through specific houses in order and then find a hidden hallway in one. I'm not sure how you are supposed to figure that out legit The Hotel I honestly couldn't tell you how you're actually supposed to find anything at all. There doesn't seem to be any signposting or clues within the environment itself. There is a beep sound that apparently comes from the elevator but (and I wear headphones when playing) it sounds like it comes from all around you, so there's no direction to follow. Found my way down to level 6 but after running in loops again, had to walkthrough. But I had to sort through a couple because they actually added *more* to it to make it more annoying and some of the videos were out of date. The rooms are also very boring and after walking through many, many rooms there doesn't seem to be any secret interesting stuff in any of them. Playrooms opens to a large door with a button and several lights and at this point I couldn't even be bothered with dealing with objective so I just loaded up a walkthrough immediately, but like Hotel they actually changed the level by making all the generators you to find have RNG placements so you have to go through every location they *could* be in. And again, I'm not entirely sure how you're supposed to find these on your own because they only make noise if you're within like 50 feet of them and there's no general indicators in the areas of where they might be. At least this one had some good aesthetic with the lego area, and the big Discovery Zone type playplace, and the one area covered in carpet that is that one town rug with the roads to drive your toys cars on, y'all know what I'm talking about. That made me lol irl I heard Dead Mall was pure exploration so I was hoping it would be more like Dreampools, but it's a disappointment. Quite frankly It's basically a first pass of someone late 90s-ealy 00s FPS, like a level designer plopped down some geometry but the artist hadn't gone in to add anything yet. No stores are accessible and they all are entirely sterile with no signs or things inside to identify them as real stores. It's called "Dead Mall" but it's more like a facsimile of a mall, not an abandoned one. The layout is only a big grid so you just kinda walk the outer hallway until you run into a door to pass through, or one of the three PoIs that exist in it (arcade, cinema, road area), and there isn't even anything in those to see. You just get an achievement for entering and finding them and then you can leave. It's incredibly boring. At least you can accidentally find the exit to this one in like 5-10 minutes if you just want to be done with the game. That's what happened it me lol (I loaded it back up to find all the places for the achievements though)
its good
If you don't intend on getting all achievements it's worthwhile, but if you intend on getting all achievements it's a PAIN in the ASS because there's no good maps on the internet and the guides are kind of hit-and-miss.
This game is incredible. If you have even a passing interest in liminality and odd spaces, you owe it to yourself to experience this game. Turn off the lights, close out of any music or videos you might be watching, and just play Dreamcore for a while. Get lost in it. It's worth every penny, every second. All the maps are huge, there's tons of scenes to explore and liminal corners to get lost in. Well worth the price of admission, and then some!
9/10 If you are a backrooms fan, this is the game you want to get. Out of all of them, this is the one that I come back to the most often. There are 5 different "levels" and each are unique so I'll give a brief review of each: Pools: By far the best one. I love this one so much. Infinite Suburbia: Incredible. Take my money. Playrooms: Phenomenal, but is the first one to have a "mission" if you will. Hotel: Felt rushed. Probably was. Still cool though. Mall: Oy vey. At least the developer admitted it wasn't good and is fixing it. Once again rushed to death to release around the movie release (fair). The first time I played the poolrooms it took me a few hours, the mall took me 30 minutes first try as an example. If you love exploring strange places and not having any stakes (there are no monsters) this is the game for you. Bonus points if you take an edible before going in.
