It's a nice little point-and-click adventure puzzle game about venturing into paintings. Instructions for each puzzle are not given, so you have to figure out what you're supposed to do and what the objective is. Some were more challenging than others. The illustrations are good and the music sets the mood. Note that there are no hidden object games. Some backtracking is necessary. Get it on sale in a bundle if you can.
It's passable. Different.
Fun little game!
Drawn: The Painted Tower is a captivating fantasy puzzle adventure developed by Big Fish Studios and published by BFG Entertainment. Built around an imaginative fairy tale premise, the game transports players into a mysterious tower where art possesses magical power and every painted world hides another layer of mystery. Rather than relying on action or fast-paced gameplay, it embraces thoughtful exploration, environmental storytelling, and intricate puzzles that gradually reveal the fate of a gifted young girl named Iris. Its combination of enchanting visuals and atmospheric design allows it to stand out as one of the more memorable entries in the hidden object and point-and-click adventure genre. The narrative revolves around rescuing Iris, whose extraordinary ability to bring paintings to life has attracted dangerous forces determined to exploit her gift. As players ascend the tower, they uncover fragments of the story through journals, environmental clues, and magical paintings that act as portals to beautifully imagined locations. Each area contributes to the overall mystery while expanding the game's fantasy setting, encouraging players to piece together the events surrounding the tower and understand the significance of Iris's remarkable talent. The storytelling is subtle yet effective, creating a sense of wonder that steadily grows from beginning to end. One of the game's strongest qualities is its artistic presentation. Every environment resembles a hand-painted illustration filled with vibrant colors, whimsical architecture, enchanted forests, forgotten chambers, and magical landscapes. The painted worlds each possess their own identity, making exploration consistently rewarding as every new location introduces unique scenery and imaginative visual details. Even years after its release, the artwork retains a timeless charm thanks to its distinctive storybook style rather than striving for photorealism. Puzzle design serves as the heart of the gameplay. Instead of focusing solely on hidden object sequences, Drawn: The Painted Tower places greater emphasis on logical challenges, environmental interaction, and creative problem-solving. Players collect useful objects, activate mysterious mechanisms, decipher clues, and manipulate magical devices to unlock new sections of the tower. The puzzles vary in style and complexity, ensuring that each challenge feels fresh while gradually increasing in difficulty without becoming unnecessarily frustrating. This balance makes the game welcoming to newcomers while still providing satisfying moments for experienced adventure fans. Exploration is equally rewarding because nearly every room contains meaningful details rather than decorative filler. Returning to earlier locations with newly acquired items often reveals additional secrets or opens previously inaccessible paths, creating a satisfying sense of progression throughout the adventure. The game encourages careful observation, rewarding players who pay close attention to subtle visual hints scattered throughout the environments. This interconnected structure helps the relatively compact adventure feel richer than its overall length might initially suggest. The sound design complements the fantasy atmosphere exceptionally well. Gentle orchestral music, ambient environmental effects, and restrained voice performances reinforce the feeling of stepping into a magical fairy tale. Rather than overwhelming players with dramatic audio, the soundtrack maintains a calm and mysterious tone that perfectly matches the slow-paced exploration. These subtle audio elements strengthen immersion and make each painted world feel alive despite the absence of constant character interaction. Accessibility is another notable strength. The interface is intuitive, inventory management is straightforward, and interactions are easy to understand, allowing players to focus on solving puzzles rather than wrestling with complicated controls. The game's gradual introduction of mechanics helps maintain a comfortable learning curve, making it suitable for players who may be experiencing point-and-click adventures for the first time. Veterans of the genre will likewise appreciate the logical puzzle construction and polished presentation. Although the adventure is not particularly lengthy, its concise structure works in its favor by avoiding repetitive gameplay and unnecessary padding. Every chapter introduces new ideas, fresh environments, and different puzzle concepts, allowing the experience to maintain a consistent level of quality throughout its runtime. Players looking for dozens of hours of content may wish the journey lasted longer, but the game delivers a satisfying and complete adventure without overstaying its welcome. Drawn: The Painted Tower succeeds because it places creativity, atmosphere, and storytelling above spectacle. Its magical setting, imaginative artwork, carefully crafted puzzles, and engaging sense of discovery combine to create an experience that remains enjoyable long after its original release. Fans of fantasy adventures, hidden object games, and narrative-driven puzzle experiences will find plenty to appreciate in this beautifully designed journey through enchanted paintings and forgotten mysteries. Rating: 8/10
为童年补票。 它曾经是我最喜欢的解谜游戏,直到现在也是。
This quick game has beautiful artwork and a nice soundtrack (that doesn't get annoying if you have to spend a little bit of time on a puzzle haha.) I like that the game have multiple areas to explore and even once you get to a new scene past areas are still relevant in the game's puzzles. The story is easy to follow (but there is a cliffhanger so you will definitely want to make sure you have all three games for the complete telling.) Most of the puzzles are pretty straightforward as long as you are looking for context clues, but there were a couple that are a little tricky to figure out. I recommend only using a guide if you are hopelessly stuck. Several of the achievements are based on how fast you complete a puzzle which I don't think is really all that fair, but.... overall it was a nice little distraction that took up an afternoon. I don't know if it is worth 9.99$ but if you can pick it up at a discount for half the price like I did, I would recommend it.
It's a great game. Interesting story, but now that Windows 11 is here it does not run smoothly, just a heads up.
Very good game for playing with partner. hahaha. solve problems together.
Enough attractive artwork and engaging puzzles. I haven't played many casual games but I expect this is an above average example of the genre.
