It has an old school feel & somewhat boardgame style. Traversing the world map is arduous, while generic looking dungeons are repetitive to crawl through for the mundane sidequests needed to grind for gold & XP. Combat lacks balance & the pacing is off resulting in too many unsatisfactory encounters. Character building is restricted & party management limited. Due to unclear explanations of mechanics, it is hard to get into & the clunky nature of many of its features give it a disjointed feel. The UI needs work to make it more user friendly. Its a tough play, but buried beneath the obfuscation & confusing labels there is semblance of a good game. It is redeemable, but right now its a FLAWED experience.

STATUS: Suffers from a rushed out release. A year in, it lacks quality & should be in Early Access

APPEAL: Best suited to fans of the comic who don't mind struggling through an unbalanced game with unpolished features

VALUE: Too expensive for what it is

Key supplied by developer through curator TURN-BASED TACTICS | Click to follow & get updates
More info below.... https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3662785618
HIGHLIGHTS:
🟡 STORY is interesting enough with an inviting cadence that begs investing in. Fashioned to be told from the viewpoint of the main character as determined by the difficulty chosen. 🟡 SETTING brings a lot of character & is familiar enough to fans of the genre, but novel enough to attract those searching for a unique experience in a different world. 🟡 CRAFTING is extensive. Ingrained through the gameworld via menu-driven workshops, in whatever settlement they can be crafted in. Numerous exotic & standard items can be created from a small pool of scarcely available ingredients. Having multiple uses presents the player with the nice quandary of which items to build & when. 🟡 GAMELOOP is pretty standard. A wide scope & flexibility allows players to choose their approach. Follow the main quest, segway into side-quests. Read narrative that reveal the story. Dungeon crawl when tiles allow exploration. Respond to triggered events on the world map. Camp to recuperate. The idea of returning to settlements to gain gear or craft items gives it a wonderful feeling of going on expeditions, like true adventuring. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3660103475
OFF TARGET:
⚪ CONTENT is limited to a single scripted adventure, with multiple difficulties that determine the make-up of the party attempting it. Offers decent longevity for those willing to replay the same story from the perspective of other 'lead' characters. ⚪ GAMEWORLD is vast & open enough to instil the sense of freedom to explore. Its poorly populated with few permanent locations. Instead tiles have the potential to spawn dungeons, allow the party to camp, or for ambush encounters & events to trigger. Moving across the map is monotonous, though numerous forms of transport from naval, air & land are neat, but buggy. ⚪ COMBAT needs more work. It suffers from an imbalance in matchups. Is bound solely by sequence & lacks good pacing. Fixed party deployment & a lack of ranks restricts tactics, as enemies can bypass fighters making weaker classes easy prey. Abilities & inventory could be interesting, but some aren't well explained & can be spammed as mana use seems broken & cooldowns non-existent. Applying combat states occurs to busily. While members of the party are prone to being easily downed by single strikes. ⚪ SETTLEMENTS are menu-driven, with options for each location of note regarding the main quest & useful buildings that provide the possibility to rest, trade inventory, craft items, acquire side-quests or better transport to traverse the world map a little faster. ⚪ PARTY MANAGEMENT is limited to pre-selected characters of the chosen difficulty. Most effort is centred around keeping the party fed & fit for combat. CHARACTER BUILDING is disappointing as new abilities are sequentially granted, without input from the player. Leveling is quite grindy & needs to be done through completing side-quests. Upgrading abilities is capped in stages. Equipped inventory can change stats & abilities. ⚪ ENEMIES come in an mix of humanoid & monsters. Only a few sub-classes provide diversity. Many seem to overpowered to be introduced early in the adventure. Most inflict a flurry of combat states that adds to the imbalance in combat. AI is only used in combat & is capable, but lacks finesse. Seemingly attacking as a blunt instrument. ⚪ AUDIOVISUALS are used to great effect. Immersion & a distinct character come through appropriated comic-book art. The background tune is impactful, in a suitably melodic way that imbues the ambience with an adventuring mood. Audio-effects sound generic. Combat animations lack finesse & need refinement. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3660101600
SHORTCOMINGS:
🟤 ADVENTURING is pleasant in places, but feels disjointed despite the story doing a good job holding everything together. Side-quests are few & dull, but necessary to get the XP to level &, coin to trade & ingredients for crafting. 🟤 WRITING would be decent if there weren't so many errors, in terms of both spelling & incorrect wordage use. Needs proof-reading from a native speaker. 🟤 DUNGEONS are generic in generation. Poorly populated with the same traps, chests, similar enemy groups & exits. Scouting could have been an interesting feature, but always fully succeeds. Chests give rather poor loot. Having to select individual characters to use their skills is a needless overhead. Crawling through these is pretty repetitive. Some of these fail to provide objectives needed to complete associated side-quests. 🟤 UI is unclear & lacks conformity making it difficult to decipher many mechanics. The use of such a small font makes much of the writing hard to read. Some combat states & combat abilities use ambiguous labels. Dungeon icons are missing a legend. Character levelling prompts do not send the player to the appropriate screen to invest stat points. The save ( & other) buttons are confusingly located within the inventory menu. 🟤 ACCESSIBILITY is muddled, resulting in an experience that is difficult to get into. There is no structured tutorial, only bitesize info-bubbles. Which are not enough. Explanations of some mechanics are hidden within a stacked encyclopaedia. Dedication & knowledge of the comics would be helpful to get anything out of the game. 🟤 PRODUCTION is patchy & suffers from reused content. It feels cobbled together giving it a quality that is rough around the edges. Needs a good amount of polishing & some QOL across many of its features. Optimisation & stability demonstrated no issues. As a big indie rpg fan, this is not for me. It has a unique gamestyle, but combat is not fun, exploration is not fun, Character selection / creation is not fun (You can choose a level 50 character, a level 3 character, etc, at the start. With no obvious reason why) I only fought a few fights, the combat flow was not fun. And I got to the first town and that wasnt fun. This game plays like a board game. Not a computer game.
This game is based on the homonymous series of comics from the Italian company Bonelli. Disclaimer: I'm a big fan of the comics With that say, I will confirm that if you know and like the comics series than you will need to play this game. Being able to form teams with the main characters (Ian, Gmor, Sera, Alben and Myrva) and travel around the Erondar region is priceless. With that said, if you've never heard of the franchise, don't fret. While it is kind of hard to get into such a big universe, with an established, big lore it is well worth it, the game is full of peculiar mechanics and ideas worth of trying. If you are a fan of board games, then you really need to give it a go, at least trying the demo to see if it's your cup of tea. Also you'll see the gorgeous hand drawn illustrations, which are them alone worth the price of the package! The game is the first one from the developers Operaludica and it shows in some aspects, for example the UI could use some work, as right now is not super clear, but for my understanding the devs will keep working on the game, as it really seems to be their labour of love.

*Early Release disclaimer* The artwork is amazing. Truly fantastic. The English grammar errors, missing words, changing fonts and other 'bugs' lost me. I know it is in development...but please have some beta checkers help you with some of these issues.
This game is good, but rough around the edges. The combat is classic turn-based stuff and the animations/sound effects in battle aren't anything special but they are serviceable. Skills provide all the information you need to make informed decisions, but the information isn't explained well. I think one of the main flaws of this game is that it has a lot of systems and stats going on, but they are only explained through either a pop-up tooltip or through going into the encyclopedia and viewing the game mechanics explanations. This can get to be a lot to read but since dying leads to a gameover it is better to do that than to just experiment in combat. It also isn't very clear when an enemy is immune to a status effect which can be annoying. It would also be nice to be able to adjust the size and color of the font in game because many people find it hard to read. I haven't had that issue personally, but I have seen it as a frequent complaint. I do enjoy the exploration element of the game, but I wish it wasn't always so clunky. You can only ever move one square at a time whether you are on the overworld map or in a dungeon. On the overworld you expend energy everytime you move and once you move 8 times you become hungry and need to eat. You are supposed to be able to just press tab and it will feed you using food from your pack. But it seems like it only feeds the first person in the party and you have to go into your inventory to feed the other two party members you start with. In dungeons, you can also only move one square at a time, but you have to confirm it each time because there can be hidden traps etc. This is even more tedious. For all the flaws the game has, I do really enjoy it and hope the devs can use community feedback to fix issues like what I have mentioned. That is why I am going to recommend the game. I have played for 9 hours so far, and I'm excited to go back which I think says a lot given the game's flaws.
we need Chinese,please~~ 终于有中文了。
