Dragon Sleuth Brittany

Honestly, I regret spending money on Dragon Sleuth Brittany. I have played plenty of adult games, but very few have frustrated me as much as this one. My biggest issue is not that the game is NSFW. I play adult games, so that alone is not a problem. My issue is that this game gives me almost no real choice in how I want to experience the story. I hate games that force the main character into sexual situations without giving you the option to define their personality or boundaries. What really killed this game for me is how Brittany feels less like an actual character, and more like a body the game constantly puts in sexual situations for shock value or fetish content. I never felt like I was shaping her journey. I felt like I was just being dragged through whatever the game wanted, whether I liked it or not. I would have respected this game a lot more if it gave players actual choice. Let me play it in a more grounded way. Let me decide how far I want the character to go. Instead, it often feels like the game assumes one specific path, and if that is not your thing, the experience becomes frustrating fast. For me, this was not immersive, sexy, or fun. It was just exhausting.

i genuinely wasn't expecting such high production quality. porn scenes are awesome, gameplay is awesome, story is awesome... though i wish you could pause sex scenes, sounds keep playing when you alt-tab out, making it a very risky porn game to play. i've seen other reviews complain about a "lack of choice" but ultimately, that's kinda the point of a linear story game, if you want dynamic scenes, go play an open world game. the scenes are well done, and make sense for the story.

So this game has a lot of charming aspects to it. I thoroughly enjoy the game, even if it's a hentai game. It has a good story, and some parts of it is tedious but what detective game isn't tedious? The art is great, the voice acting is alright, and it has like Mario 64 vibes when you're in the map and it's repayable to get all the H-scenes for the gallery and achievements. I highly recommend this game. 10/10

Playing as a slutty detective is not a new concept, and I enjoyed it for what it was. However, this title as much as I enjoyed the journey is not something I would recommend to the average porn gamer due to lacking substance unless they really love the art style. It has an ambitious scope and a great art style, but a lot of its ideas are on the shallow side. I would honestly suggest waiting for a deeper sale price for what's offered. As an art showcase, the artists did a phenomenal job drawing pixel art of almost every portrait and scenes especially the animated segments. The music score while only containing a handful of songs does its job setting the scene, but the ending lyrical music is very nice. The voice acting is fine for the most part though it's sparse in overworld cutscenes and plentiful in adult scenes. I really appreciate the developers even adding one additional warning for one optional cutscene involving an situationally uncomfortable kink. The game's story is what you would expect of a cheesy porn game where most characters have very basic personalities but pushes the plot forward. I enjoyed the collectible puzzle piece as it makes me curious enough to explore each area often. As a game, this title fails on standard quality-of-life features visual novels would have such as fast-forwarding texts, creating multiple manual save slots and chapter select. There is a lot of backtracking, and in some parts of the story you will find yourself getting stuck with the game not being very clear on how to continue the story (looking at you, trap manual). After game completion, your completion save file is locked into the final room which locks the player out of retrieving all collectable puzzle pieces forcing anyone that wants to 100% complete this game to make a brand new save file (at least the game gallery is shared across all save files). This section are more about nitpicks with the mini game designs. In the wrestling match segment, you don't get any instructions on how to play letting the opponent get a cheap shot at you, and three whole rounds is cumbersome. The beach segment is honestly fine though I'm not sure if there was a point to the character select. The BDSM minigame while a cool idea leaves a lot to be desired since it's just get specific meters to max each round. If I can make any recommendations to the developers, please add a fast-forward button (It's usually Ctrl during dialogue), allow for saving manually and increase the overworld travel speed. I think it would also help the game of this nature to allow hiding specific cutscenes that contain specific fetishes that the players may not enjoy like BDSM, pregnancy and some homosexual themes for some players (maybe cutting to black for some of these). Overall, this game is rough to recommend and it's clear that the developers did not have a lot of experience creating visual novels with standard features. While the character arts and the background details are fantastic, it is difficult and to justify the price of what you get with the shallow story and the experience it provides. You can complete this game under five hours without speeding through everything. I hope the team will someday consider giving this title more polish.
