Game feels unfinished/buggy/shallow and hoping to coast on the premise alone of having cute custom made cats while gameplay is lacking. Bugs: Ultrawide settings don't appear to take correctly and/or cutoff the screen. Framerate can be anywhere from a locked 60FPS to down to the under 20FPS (and this is on a 3080Ti) Gameplay: There's no story or single player mode aside from fighting bots in each of the modes, all of which involve waggling the right stick, holding block, and then holding a button to charge up a pounce. You can also double jump to pound downward. It doesn't get much more interesting than that from what I saw. You can create your own cats and save them, with customizable colors, outfits, and designs, but I'd say the options are a bit lacking, even once you've unlocked everything by completing random in-game challenges, or in my case, just seeing a random "Debug Unlock" button on the challenge board menu that allowed me to click it over and over to unlock everything immediately. Keyboard/mouse control exists, but just using a mouse in the menus proved to be problematic, playing with an Xbox One controller seemed fine, however. I get that this is one of those "cute and LoL RaNdOm" kid/influencer bait kind of games, but I guess I went in expecting a bit more depth/polish that what is here. I love the idea of a Smash/Power Stone-like cat fighting game with cute customizable cats, but the execution here missed the mark.
Been following this since its announcement because I thought it'd be fun to play for the memes, and I was right lol. Something about cartoon cats clawing each other to death whilst screaming in agony is pretty funny to watch (no, I would not like this kinda stuff irl, at all). Upsides: - It's fun. - It's cute (the adopt a cat and play with it thing especially, even if it only lasts like 2 minutes before you decide to quit). - The OST is a bit of a bop, I can't lie. Downsides: - No online, only single player and local mutiplayer (seriously, this would be epic with online play... please implement it!). - The bots are WAY too easy to play against (another reason why we need online), unless it's the "tussle" mode (the regular deathmatch mode), since you CAN get unlucky and it will serve a challenge (but only on occasion). You cannot alter the difficulty either, which sucks. - Opponent bots sometimes get glitched in place until you hit them (which adds to the too easy thing). - I SWEAR achievements aren't unlocking when I fulfill the requirements sometimes. For the content it offers, that price point is honestly too steep imo, it's a £10 at best. Since there's no "neutral" option, I'm recommending for the upsides, but I personally wouldn't say buy it until it's on sale. Good game, but honestly could've been more imo.
I saw the trailer for this game about a year ago and waited patiently as the release date passed, worried that it had been canceled. Imagine my surprise when out of nowhere the game officially released on my birthday. As a cat lover I knew this was fate that I had to buy it, lol. Fistifluffs is a fun, casual, family-friendly brawler that's something of a cross between Gang Beasts and Smash Bros. You take control of one of a number of cats, which you can customize with various outfits, items, colors and more, and take on three other cats in a few different battle modes to determine who is "best cat". The game is meant to be fun, cute and wacky as cats go sailing thirty feet across the room with every jump and flop around "tussling" with combinations of scratches and headbutts. The graphics are perfect for a game of this nature, setting the cartoonish tone, and the music is great (and can be selected between "cute" and "metal" depending on what kind of feel you want for your battles). Audio in general is great as there are lots of fun cat noises, hisses, growls, and the occasional purr or nomnom as your kitty chomps down a scrumptious snack of fish to regain some energy. On release day there are six maps, all single screen but large enough to accommodate your four felines. They range from a few indoor locations and a couple of outdoor locations with plenty of objects to smack into and jump around on for destruction. The camera is customizable as are many other things about the game such as how long the matches can go as well as how much damage can be done, how many "lives" a cat can have in a match (up to nine, of course) and you can mix and match the combination of single player and multiplayer setups depending on how many bots you want in each match. There are a few modes such as the straightforward fight, or "tussle", a destruction mode that challenges the cats to do as much damage to the surroundings as possible, a "crown" challenge which is basically hold the flag, and an adorably named "kibble defense" mode in which you and the other cats work together to defend your precious food against rats. This is the only mode that seems to require all humans, the other modes can be played alone with cat bots. There are lots of unlockables, several dozen achievements, and a playroom mode where you can interact with the cats and design and adopt one of your own. The game is fun enough for me as a solo player because I absolutely love cats but your mileage may vary as the amount of content is currently a little low, even if that content is, in my opinion, very good. This seems to be a family-oriented game or one for younger gamers as it is completely devoid of any kind of blood or true violence, these are cats just acting out while their owners are away to determine who is the champion. It's very easy to pick up and jump right into with lots of options for what's included. As time goes on more content may be added but as it stands, despite there only being a few modes, there's a decent amount of stuff to unlock and the game is fun for single players and probably much more so with a group of people. In particular, again, families. I could easily see mom and dad enjoying this with the kids though its tongue in cheek humor makes it a fun kick for adults as well, especially those like myself who have an affinity for feline friends. I enjoy the game very much, and simply hope to see more added to it as time goes on. Fun, cute little game.
The cats were cute There are lots of cute costumes Fun physics Mochi is the best <3
This game is poorly made. It kept crashing right off the bat when I would go into settings to turn the EXTREMELY loud music down. I was never able to open the settings since it kept crashing. I decided to try playing with the music raping my ear drums and I STILL crashed. This game is meant for a controller only. All the instructions are about the controller and not PC. It also did not save my cat and outfits. I do not recommend this game. Maybe for $1, not $20.
Fisti-Fluffs is an adorable physics-based combat game in which up to 4 players can claw and miaow their way to victory in a series of cat-based party games with both co-op and PVP modes and customisable kitties. It is a fun game with a cute premise and art style and is ideal for short bursts of casual multiplayer gaming. However, there are some small bugs, such as throwing invisible toys, menu glitches and cats clipping into furniture. It is also worth noting that the game does not support online multiplayer gaming, despite the fact the title is well suited to it. Overall, there is enjoyment to be had, especially with friends, but the limited content and unfinished feel mean it is difficult to recommend this at the full price of nearly £20. The discrepancy between the price of switch/PC versus mobile adds further insult to injury in this regard.
