Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is one of the best Dragon Ball games for actually experiencing the story of the series in an interactive way. It does a great job of letting you relive iconic moments from the anime while still feeling like a proper action RPG. The gameplay is fun and accessible, with fast-paced combat that captures the energy of Dragon Ball fights. Pulling off combos, transformations, and ultimate attacks feels satisfying and true to the source material. One of the strongest parts of the game is how faithfully it adapts the Dragon Ball Z story. From the Saiyan Saga all the way through the Buu Saga, it hits all the major moments while adding extra scenes that give more depth to the world and characters. The world exploration is also a nice addition. Flying around, collecting items, training, and interacting with characters between battles helps make the world feel more alive than a typical fighting game adaptation. Overall, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a very enjoyable and faithful Dragon Ball experience. It’s a great mix of action and RPG elements that makes you feel like you’re actually living through the anime. Gameplay: 8.5/10 Very Good | Overall: 9/10 Great

devs never fixed a bug from 6 years ago where your save file randomly vanishes do not waste your money
This is one of the worst Dragon Ball Z games ive ever played. I hate how stupid the design is when it has so much potential. The game could have been amazing, but the fighting is the absolute worst part of the game. Boss fights give the Boss the ability to interrupt your super while still making you pay the Ki, but in the same point. You CANT interrupt them, no matter what. Your build has some impact on the options you have, but mostly it revolves around Kamehameha and Spirit Bomb type attacks. Even when they add solar flare, it is useless on bosses. So you can't strategize like you could in Budokai. The boss fights already give them absurd health bars which has always been the case. So why not just make the AI fight better instead of giving it hacks? Makes the fights turn into dodge and Kamehameha. If they are stunned after their berserk mode, then you can drop a Spirit Bomb. Id much rather just fight increasingly more skilled opponents than just deals absurdly more dmg, massive spongey health bars, and stupid hacks. So many better DBZ games, and Id argue the combat in Xenoverse is better, and its pretty trash too.
Genuinly terrible combat experience, I've been playing on max difficulty and the enemies constantly cannot be stunned and tank your attacks without flinching. Add in the enrage effects every 30-45 seconds, some fights you scrape through then a second fight starts straight after with no rest so you fight at half health. Any fight with 2 enemies and you just get spammed with ki while the other melees then the before mentioned unflinchable. It's a cool game at concept but I'm glad I only wasted $20
