The new game mode, the largest selling point is just not fun at all.
The content itself is good, the price as of this review is debatable. On pricing It is not a DLC, it is more akin to an expansion pack from the 90s and 00s era, or even a sequel esque game of the PS2 (in the same vein of Budokai Tenkaichi 2 to 3). There is a fair and just criticism that for what it gives to an already existing game the price is too hefty and buying it at full price (35 dollars or 145 reais rn) when there are other games around the same price range if not cheaper that can provide more for your buck. Unless you're a Dragon Ball fanatic like me it's hard to recommend it outside of a sale. There's also the whole ultimate edition whatever thing that it was not included in them, I never buy into special editions or season passes due to past similar BS. It is very possible and likely that the development cycle had deadlines to meet by Bandai Namco, if not planned cut segments in order to sell future DLC. If Tekken 8 and this are anything to go by is that Bandai Namco wants money on the back of developers trying their hardest. On the content: It's very good 30 new characters; from OG Dragon Ball, GT, Super and movies. They all feel genuine but I have a hitch with the inclusion of Cheelai over someone who actually fights or is at least a bit more iconic. They added Tora and Fasha from the Bardock special who I both like, so I can't really complain about adding weird characters that other people enjoy. The rogue lite journey mode. It's alright, it's very much alright and my new favorite way to play single player. It doesn't do anything astonishing and people that complain that this was not part of a free update like Mission 100 and Survival are not without fault since it's not a great step up. It is fun yes, and single player content that it was missing, but it didn't have to be locked behind a substantially priced expansion DLC. The 4 stages are fun, but there is great irony that some some of them aren't even used in the new mode. Kai Lookout was always a favorite of mine. Not much to say about them other than they aren't any more fascinating than what we already got beyond new memorable sceneries. New episodes, Tien, Krllin, Yamcha and Cell. Had fun with them, wasn't expecting a Cell one. But I have the same problem with them that I do with the base storylines: there are skipped fights. For a DLC of this price I do not think that is acceptable, they added OG Dragon Ball characters but make no use of them in the episodes, there's not a single story episode that takes place before Z, which feels honestly farcical. It's cool we got them but also just left me wanting. If I could give this a "mixed" review I would based on its pricing, so between a glass half full or half empty, I'll go with the former with a tenuous "positive".

Em 2024 comprei na pré venda a ultima versão pra receber tudo, pra no final, eles adicionar outra versão com esse preço ridiculo. Era pra isso tá na ultimate, mas fazer oq né, bandai sendo bandai

TREMENDO DLC ! 20/10 Y GOD
Overall I will speak about this DLC in three parts focusing on characters added, maps added, final overall thoughts while trying to be brief. When it comes to the characters you need to really be a dragon ball fan and not be concerned with getting heavy meta characters for this to matter to you. Personally I love the characters added and I enjoy having friendly matches using them and I hope we can get more characters to really round out the roster. New clothes added are good but I really want to see more, every character should at least have like a color shift or something. With the new maps I am really happy to see but I feel like for the price there should have been like two more. With the addition of more single player content really makes me happy. On launch the lack of single player content killed me especially remembering how much time I was able to sink into the ps2 games as a kid. I really hope they add more because that is more my speed. I maxed out single battle rank once and left it at that and haven't had a ton of reason to pick the game back up outside of playing with friends here and there. I really hope they add more single player content but it is crap they made people who bought the legendary addition pay so much for this DLC. Overall the DLC should be like $25 bucks for everyone cause that is about what it is worth secondly it should have been discounted for legendary addition owners. It would of been cheaper if I didn't support the game at launch and paid full price for the current legendary addition which means I shouldn't support your games at launch. I should wait a couple years and buy them when they are complete. I am saying I don't recommend because I don't unless you are a huge fan of the game and are willing to do so knowing you are over paying a bit.
Although having to pay for this feels like a scam, it includes most of what there was in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. There are, however, some missing things that this game should have: Characters: - Child Chichi (she was there in BT3) - Pilaf Machine (they were there in BT3) - Arale (she was there in BT3) - Cyber Tao (he was there in BT3) - Great Apes Costumes: - Blue Kid Goku garb - Yellow Krillin monk robe Also the SS3 Vegeta from Raging Blast would have been good, but oh well, at least Daima Vegeta has SS3.
