Don't even bother playing this, Origins is the only good Dragon Age game.
first of all, I detest the gameplay and the design: you cannot set detailed AI preferences for your party behaviour like you could in DAO or DA 2, you can merely tell your companions when to drink health potions which implies either micro-managing the whole party, which defies the whole point of RTwP leaning to action, or you rely on this horribly lacking AI management which makes it hard to defeat certain enemies and takes away the strategic part from the combat. furthermore, the character development for mages is much worth in this game than in previous parts: there is no healing and almost no good options for crowd control. moreover, the locations and quests are incredibly repetitive: even though they look different and have different names, you end up collecting minerals and plants, searching for shards (or cogs), killing mobs that only differ in name and looks. there's almost zero novelty throughout the game. on top of this, EA do not seem to care to remove the bugs, glitches and issues that the community have been struggling with for years. like, for example, the button "hold" is useless because your party refuses to hold, so no micromanaging your combats or solving puzzles. but what has driven me completely mad is the fact that the very same version of the game and btw the only one accessible on Steam is treated by the EA as two different versions if you play through subscription and through buying the game. so I've played for 86 freaking hours suffering though the gameplay via subscription, which has ended today. and since it's the summer sale I opted to buy the game instead of prolonging the subscription. EA views it now as the conflict of versions, so I cannot load my safe as I allegedly do not have the DLCs installed (which of course I do) Steam does not refund my purchase, and I'm left with the option of possibly renewing the subscription, which does not guarantee that it will resolve the conflict, and of course I am not the only one to face this problem over the years but EA do not seem to care about their players so they have never fixed it.
Dragon Age: Inquisition —

Peak Cinema
Best in the franchise. Obsessed...clearly. I can't get over how well this game holds up so many years after its original release, especially the plot, writing, banter, deep lore, and character arcs and relationships. I've replayed multiple times and have enjoyed every single playthrough as much as the last. Although as a straight cis female inquisitor, there's nothing quite like romancing Cullen.
