Why does everybody hate mages so much ? 20 hours later... aah that's why
I recommend this game, with a number of caveats. First, EA is not working all that well and the launchers -there are two - constantly stops and/ or crashes. If you're lucky. If you're not, you'll have to restart your computer. Second, I couldn't do DLCs work even though I followed all the tutorials avaliable by the players in the guide. The vanilla game is ok, but the rest - no dice. Third, the vanilla game also freezes and crashes. It was an exercise of patience for me because every 2 or 3 hours, I would have to restart the launcher. Or the computer. So, if you're willing to bypass all this problems. It's a really good rpg. The story pretty much follows the events of DAO and you can import your saves, personalizing your experience - since depending of your choices, new dialogues and missions will appear. The characters were better written and are much more charismatic than in DAO, something that along the dramatic plot makes up for the reduced lore. It's almost a hack-and-slash, but it's fun. And there's Varic. Always take him with you.
Dragon Age II — An Underrated Chapter in an Amazing Trilogy Dragon Age II is often considered the weakest game in the trilogy, and I understand why—it's incredibly difficult to compete with Dragon Age: Origins. But I think it deserves much more appreciation than it usually gets. For me, the Dragon Age trilogy is one complete story. The choices you make carry over from one game to the next, making every decision feel meaningful and turning the series into one of the best RPG trilogies ever made. Unlike Origins and Inquisition, Dragon Age II isn't about saving the entire world. Instead, it tells a much more personal story centered on the Hawke family and the growing conflict between mages and templars. That smaller scale gives the game its own identity and allows its characters to shine. The game does have its flaws. The graphics are surprisingly less impressive than those in Origins, and the recycled environments quickly become repetitive. Those shortcomings are hard to ignore. Even so, Dragon Age II remains an important part of the trilogy. It bridges the events between the first and third games beautifully, and its story becomes even more rewarding when experienced as part of the complete Dragon Age saga.
Holy Crap Flemeth STEP ON ME NOW
dlc's wont work because game is so old. I am sad. I paid for dlcs but cant play them. steam-ea connection is ass. whatever.
A good follow up to the first game. Expands the lore and world a good amount with fun gameplay and enjoyable characters to meet
What can I say? Other than it's one of the worst games i have ever played. If you want the story, I suggest you watch a video or something. I am sympathetic to the strife between both the mages and the templar. The result is exactly the same no matter what you choose. You can help and fight both sides at different points. Most if not all your choices are an illusion (something bioware is usually good at, but is obvious in this). It has some of the most forgettable characters and half the companions are obnoxious. You go back and forth between the same 5 damn maps constantly. Combat is fun at first if you're a mage but soon becomes a chore. EVERY five minutes you fight a group of generic enemies that spawn in waves and appear out of nowhere, I lowered the difficulty to easy just so it could be over sooner. Couldn't play the dlc because of EAs BS (it rhymes so you know it's good/true) probably because of their launcher. I will say the game does got style, but that's not enough. Just skip it and watch a summery.
Underrated👌
Cons: 1. Combat system might be more fluid than DAO, but it's awfully simple. Strat is low tier. Sometimes feels more like a hack n slash. 2. Story is horribly linear. Little to zero path choices. Scenarios are basically ripped from previous ones. 3. MC customization: yeah, you want male or female? Also, don't change facial presets or it goes low resolution. 4. Graphically feels way worse than DAO. Elves look line anime characters. I feel giant squids have smaller eyes. This is what happens when they force you to design a AAA in like 8 months while you're working on part 1 master DLC (which is way better imo). Pros: 1. MC speaks. 2. Female MC has the same voice actress as SWTOR imperial agent. Total: 11 ot of 10.
Really really really boring gameplay; nothing really changes from level 1 to the end of the game. Reused assets everywhere: the same dungeons, enemies, weapons and armors. The story is good, though. Many quests, companions, and NPCs are genuinely well-written. If Steam had a mixed review option, that would be my rating. If you're doing a full franchise run and love Dragon Age, try to push through it because the story is worth it. If not, this game is not worth your time.
