5€ is fine if you like minesweeper. I bought it when it was cheaper and that have been 3€ very well invested. already have 15 hours playtime for the price of one beer in a bar. (one large if you buy it for the normal price) not only campain mode (would be nice to have more then those ~40 level) but you also have classic mode, infinite mode and challenge mode.
I feel bad as I got this on sale but I can't recommend it. I think it's a situation where the design ideas are interesting on paper and maybe even prototype, but in practice for its actual target audience, being people into logic puzzles and minesweeper, it swings too far into it feeling random for it to stay fun long. Between that and the odd and frustrating level design layouts it just feels like so many times you are just guessing and that's kind of you know, not great for logic puzzles. I DO think there's a version of this that works, but it needed a really finely tuned balancing pass and maybe for one reason or another that wasn't possible or too expensive. There is a "classic" mode but at the point... why not just play minesweeper for free? I think if you're a design nerd you might have fun playing this and trying to sus how it could work better, but i think if you want a fun spin on minesweeper you can do better, even on sale.
Score rush game but random generation levels have guessing bombs. Need to re-roll no guessing levels to get high score.
minesweeper but after newton came and discovered gravity
Downbreak is a variation on the minesweeper game. Instead of having to clear the mines, you need to use its gravity mechanic to get to the bottom of the map. While it still has an element of luck involved, the use of abilities and lives helps reduce the frustration somewhat. Gameplay is varied through the use of several different 'curses', which do things like invert the numbering, make only the uncovered parts of the map visible, or sand obscuring parts of the map. Gameplay is extended through the use of infinite, classic and challenger modes, though the design of the maps makes classic incredibly frustrating as it causes far too many 'coin flip' situations. The mini games are a mixed bag, with some enjoyable and others I really hate (the one with the hands jugging the cubes is just awful). I'm fine with their existence unlike some people who play this game, but it is a case by case basis with this.
The minesweeper II I didn't know I wanted and now can't live without
