Very fun, probably the closest we've come in years to a modern version of "Gangsters: Organized Crime".
Hopefully this will turn into a good game eventually. Right now its just a confusing mess.
I have been hunting for a good crime management game for ages and this almost scratches the itch. The game has a lot of potential but I don't think I can recommend in this early state. The UI is not so good, and missing a lot of features. For instance, the "sale" menu doesn't tell you how much you can sell goods for per unit. The "explore" option leaves a lot of question marks on your map, forcing you to individually inspect each location if you want to do a crime there. I am not sure if this is a bug or feature, but multiple times I have lost associates/employees seemingly at random. Because there is no events log I can scroll through, it looks like they just disappear. Once, my employee disappeared and took all of my money with him. I lost other associates seemingly at random. This is the sort of thing that should demand a game-pause pop-up but as far as I can tell, there was no notification at all (or the notification was lost in the fast-moving message queue.) The events are dull and repetitive, not bringing much to the table except the opportunity to gain or lose $10 (meaningless after the first few hours.) Plus, each has a short, unskippable animation that gets really annoying when you already know exactly how the event will play out. The early game is also pretty rough for a lot of the character backgrounds. A thief/muscle character has a lot of early money-making opportunities but when I tried to make a businessman, I was basically struggling to survive. I did not get a chance to experience the more interesting gang mechanics because I was so put off by the aforementioned issues. It feels like there might be a good game inside here somewhere, but Dough is not meeting me halfway. I might check in on the game later to see how it has improved but for now I say wait until the official release.
I really like the management style of this game. Been looking for a good mobster management game and this one is hitting the mark. Still bug issues to work out but developer is active and fixing issues. Highly recommend if looking for a mobster management game
Only have 1-2hr per day to play games but find myself choosing to play this instead of Omerta, CoG and Empire ever since I discovered it 2 weeks ago. This game is a lot better than I expected and is truly a "crime strategy" game. There's a good amount of planning/theorycrafting/experimenting + a variety of ways to play because of classes and their different capabilities. There's some RNG to keep things exciting and also meaningful micromanaging that allows you to feel the satisfaction of improving your character(s) incrementally. I bought this game on sale but would recommend it at full price to anyone that wants more depth than Omerta + unique features/systems not available in other mafia/crime game that I know of. There's possibly hundreds of hours of playtime here and tons of replayability.
Reminds me of a skeleton version of OMERTA: City of Gangsters. Comparatively, this game is much more complex and has great potential. Right now it needs serious love, bugs are quite common, the Resolution is broken on UW monitors and the game just needs some serious QOL improvements (The UI is terrible). I'd give it a year before purchasing. 4/10 Will revisit in 2025
Devs. Keep going. So much potential in the concept. I will return. Buy to support, wait to play.
Keep in mind this is still early access, so why the thumbs down? Get a grip people! Anyways, the game itself, is fantastic and yes, it needs some polish but that's in the works. I enjoy a good Mob/Mafia game as the next armchair gangster and this hits the spot. If you've been waiting for a new Mafia/Mob type game and enjoy strategy and such, get this.
Looks pretty interesting, has a lot of potential
Good game. A bit rough around the edges, but the dev is super friendly and seems to be working to fix things people complain about. Also the game's actualy pretty good.
