Small intro context: I am known among my friends for being bad at platformers, and due to this I generally do not enjoy them. It is a simple lack of experience on my part and from that I garner my unenjoyment. I have beaten a grand total of two 2D platformers now, Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, and Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures. That being said, and take my inexperienced opinion with a grain of salt, I enjoyed the whole of Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures. The simple level design coupled with the intermediate harder stages proved to be a medium challenge that had me smiling all_the_why_through. With crude, yet charming graphics in an era of needless high fidelity, 4k, ray tracing, 10,000fps, AAA slop, Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures brings a charming highlight at a budget price. Highly recommended if not to gift to a friend and have em give it a go. For those looking to play this game I would like to share a note from my time enjoying it: I saw some reviews calling the physics jank or simply poor, but from my time playing I very early on recognized the mechanic of hair/ full hitbox jumping. In Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures, your players feet do not determine where and when you can jump, but instead your full hitbox, that which is touching a platform, dictates where you can jump. This in mind makes the harder stages approachable with strategy. Keep this in mind if you plan on taking on those speedy ♥♥♥♥♥ past stage 7(I believe) it can help..
从画面到音乐到游戏性都堪称精神污染的作品,我不明白为什么还有人给好评啊!
Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures, developed by Nikita “Ghost_RUS” and published by Ghost_RUS Games, is an eccentric indie platformer that blends absurd humor, retro pixel art, and adult-themed presentation into a short but curious experience. It tells the story of a girl named Dokkaebi who finds herself transported into a bizarre world after watching an anime. From this unlikely premise, players embark on a side-scrolling adventure filled with strange enemies, surreal imagery, and an undercurrent of erotic parody. The game doesn’t take itself seriously, and that is both its charm and its weakness. It aims to entertain through sheer oddity and simplicity, but beneath the humor and provocative branding lies a very basic platformer with limited depth. The gameplay structure follows the classic formula of early arcade platformers. Dokkaebi must navigate through a sequence of levels, jumping between platforms, collecting items, and avoiding hazards. The main objective revolves around gathering “lolly faces,” a quirky collectible that serves as a symbolic and comedic reward. Enemies, most notably chickens and other peculiar creatures, patrol the stages and must either be avoided or overcome through simple movement-based timing. The level design is compact and straightforward, requiring basic reflexes rather than complex strategy. Each stage lasts only a few minutes, and the overall campaign can be completed in a single sitting. The game’s simplicity works in its favor at times, making it easy to grasp and accessible, but it also means that the challenge and variety quickly run thin. There are few surprises after the first few levels, and repetition sets in as the mechanics fail to evolve. Visually, Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures embraces a deliberately lo-fi aesthetic. The pixel art is bright, colorful, and reminiscent of 16-bit era games, but with a cheeky adult twist. Characters and environments are drawn with exaggerated charm, and while the erotic elements are implied more than explicit, the title clearly aims for comedic provocation rather than genuine sensuality. The absurd mix of cute visuals and suggestive themes gives the game an offbeat tone that fits within Ghost_RUS Games’ reputation for experimental, tongue-in-cheek indie projects. The soundtrack complements this approach with upbeat electronic tracks that add energy to the action, though the music loops are short and quickly become repetitive. Still, given the game’s brief runtime and modest ambitions, the presentation succeeds in creating a consistent mood that feels intentionally ridiculous. From a technical standpoint, the game performs well on virtually any machine thanks to its lightweight design. It launches instantly, runs smoothly, and offers minimal configuration options—qualities that reflect its no-frills nature. However, this simplicity also extends to its interface and controls, which can feel stiff and unresponsive at times. The jump arcs and collision detection lack precision, occasionally leading to frustrating moments when timing doesn’t behave as expected. There are no advanced movement options or nuanced physics systems; the gameplay is strictly functional, built to deliver quick bursts of arcade fun rather than refined mechanics. The inclusion of a small set of Steam achievements adds a token incentive for completionists, though they are easily unlocked and do little to extend replay value. Narratively, Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures offers only a loose framework for its world and characters. The game’s plot is more of a backdrop than a driving force—an excuse for the absurd setting rather than a story to be told. Dokkaebi’s journey through this strange world unfolds with little context or dialogue, relying instead on visual gags and situational humor. The writing leans into self-awareness, parodying both anime tropes and erotic game clichés. While this humor will appeal to players with a taste for irreverence, others may find it too shallow or nonsensical to hold interest. The game seems content to exist as an interactive joke rather than a meaningful narrative, which suits its playful tone but limits its emotional or thematic impact. Reception among players has been mixed. Some appreciate its eccentric charm and carefree nature, finding amusement in its absurd premise and deliberately crude humor. Others criticize it for lacking substance, calling it more of a novelty than a real game. The balance between parody and genuine entertainment is delicate, and Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures doesn’t always maintain it. Those looking for an actual challenge or mechanical sophistication will likely be disappointed, while players approaching it as a lighthearted distraction may find it oddly endearing. Its low price point and minimal runtime make it a harmless curiosity—something to play for a laugh rather than to master or analyze deeply. Ultimately, Dokkaebi Hentai Adventures is less about gameplay innovation and more about embracing the weird, niche corner of indie gaming where humor, nostalgia, and suggestiveness collide. It’s an intentionally strange product that doesn’t try to impress through complexity or polish. Instead, it thrives on the absurdity of its premise and the charm of its low-budget execution. It’s the kind of game that invites you to smile at its audacity, roll your eyes at its silliness, and move on once the novelty fades. For fans of obscure pixel-art oddities or those intrigued by the idea of an erotic parody wrapped in a simple platformer, it’s a short, self-aware, and strangely amusing experience. For everyone else, it’s exactly what its title suggests—a fleeting, bizarre adventure that exists purely for the fun of being something unapologetically and delightfully ridiculous. Rating: 5/10
