Echoes of Dread Wir haben hier einen sehr kurzweiliges Horrorspiel. Was man an meiner Spielzeit sehen tut. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow Third group
and discover more reviews from me.

Echoes of Dread pretty good! I loved the atmosphere and the mood those are definitely the game's best aspects. The puzzles were fun not the hardest ever, but solid overall. The piano and chess puzzles really stood out to me. I also really liked the journals and articles scattered throughout the mansion; I'm a big fan of that sort of thing.
Genre
Ein kurzes First Person Indie Horror Adventure
Story
Fazit

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
Great atmospheric horror that keeps you tense till the end. Loved the puzzles and dark story, really immersive experience.
This is a really good game. I only play horror games and happy i found this one. Its really fun and scary definitely! worth it!
While the puzzling in this game is good, the enemy you face is just plain obnoxious. I played on normal mode (not nightmare) and I would go as quickly as I possibly could to get to the safe spots (next to lit candles) and half the time wouldn't make it. I felt like I was playing nightmare mode and would have to try the same part more than 3 times even when I knew what was coming when. And twice, I was right next to a lit candle and the enemy still got me. Just felt like the development of the enemy mechanic wasn't very unforgiving.
Echoes of Dread, developed by Reaper GS and Kazakov Studios and published by Kazakov Studios, is a focused first-person horror experience that leans heavily into atmosphere and quiet tension rather than spectacle. It places players inside a secluded mansion that feels both empty and watchful, immediately establishing a sense of unease without relying on exposition. Instead of guiding the player with clear objectives, the game allows curiosity and discomfort to drive exploration, gradually revealing its story through fragments scattered across the environment. The gameplay centers on navigating interconnected rooms, solving light puzzles, and uncovering clues that slowly piece together the narrative. Progression is tied to observation and interaction—finding keys, examining objects, and interpreting notes that hint at the events that unfolded within the house. The puzzles are generally straightforward, designed to maintain pacing rather than stall it, which keeps the experience moving forward even when tension is high. This approach makes the game accessible, though players looking for more complex or layered challenges may find the mechanics somewhat limited. What truly defines the experience is its atmosphere. The mansion is constructed to feel oppressive and unpredictable, with dim lighting, narrow corridors, and subtle environmental changes that keep players constantly on edge. The game uses darkness not just as a visual element but as a source of psychological pressure, making each step into an unlit area feel uncertain. Sound design reinforces this effect, with distant noises, creaking structures, and faint echoes creating a persistent sense that something is never far away. Rather than relying heavily on sudden scares, the game builds tension gradually, allowing fear to emerge from anticipation and the unknown. Encounters with hostile or supernatural elements introduce moments of urgency that contrast with the slower pace of exploration. These sequences require quick reactions and a basic understanding of movement and positioning, adding a layer of intensity to the experience. However, their effectiveness varies. While some encounters are genuinely tense, others become more predictable over time, reducing their impact once patterns are recognized. This inconsistency slightly undermines the overall sense of danger, though it does not fully detract from the atmosphere the game works to establish. The narrative unfolds in a fragmented manner, encouraging players to actively piece together the story rather than presenting it directly. Details about the mansion, its inhabitants, and the protagonist’s connection to the events are revealed through environmental storytelling and scattered documents. This approach creates a sense of mystery, but it also means that the emotional weight of the story can feel understated. While there are multiple endings that offer some variation, the overall narrative remains relatively contained, focusing more on mood than on complex plot development. Visually, the game adopts a grounded and realistic style that supports its tone. The environments are detailed enough to convey a believable setting, though occasional repetition and minor inconsistencies reveal the limitations of its scope. Despite this, the overall presentation is cohesive, with lighting and composition doing much of the work in creating atmosphere. The simplicity of the visuals allows the game to focus on immersion, ensuring that players remain engaged with the environment rather than distracted by unnecessary detail. The relatively short length of Echoes of Dread works in its favor, as it prevents the core mechanics from becoming overly repetitive. Most playthroughs can be completed in a few hours, delivering a complete experience without overstaying its welcome. However, this brevity also limits the depth of both gameplay and narrative, leaving some elements feeling underexplored. Replayability exists through alternate endings, but the overall structure remains largely the same. In the end, Echoes of Dread succeeds as a tightly focused horror experience that prioritizes atmosphere and pacing over complexity. It may not introduce groundbreaking mechanics or deeply layered storytelling, but it demonstrates a clear understanding of how to create tension through environment and sound. For players who enjoy slow-burning horror and exploration-driven gameplay, it offers a compelling journey that lingers through its mood rather than its mechanics. Rating: 7/10
