Warning: Asset Flip! Anime And Your Life is a Digital Homicide style asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated a few Unity asset store packs, dumped them all in a blender, and submitted it to Valve as if they're real game developers.
Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took a basic desktop simulator asset and a couple of simple UI elements and combined them with a ripped off anime girl dressup asset pack to make a pointless desktop sim with a girl on it. There's no actual goal or point to playing this, it's just another lazy Russian asset flip cash grab. It has no value or merit as a real game. BadWolf Games/HandMade Games have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Run Run Boy" = Branches developed by SgLib Games
"Save Home" = Ultimate Survival developed by Winterbyte
"Bike Arena" = Dirt Bike Rally developed by Virgil Source
"Escape of Pig" = The Pig Escape developed by Fox Game Studio
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The game features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/flash games. While the artwork itself, while mediocre, might be considered passable, the visual presentation here is negligible, it might as well be a slideshow or a Youtube video. Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids had more advanced animation and visuals going on than this game does. The controls can't be customised because the game doesn't really have any interface beyond menus and simple UI controls no different from dialog boxes in Windows Explorer. If you think about it, this barely counts as an "interactive" game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play fully immersive games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 15 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 100,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! Anime And Your Life has the utterly unrealistic price of around $9 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Anime And Your Life is a deliberately unconventional indie project that resists easy categorization, presenting itself less as a traditional game and more as a playful, sometimes chaotic digital sandbox. Developed by BadWolf Games and published by HandMade Games, the experience blends elements of life simulation, parody software utilities, card-based strategy, customization systems, and surreal humor into a single package. Rather than guiding players through a clear narrative or progression path, Anime And Your Life invites experimentation, curiosity, and a willingness to engage with loosely connected systems that mirror an exaggerated, anime-inflected interpretation interpretation of modern digital life. The game’s primary framing device is a fictional operating system that acts as both interface and world. Players navigate menus, windows, and applications much like a desktop environment, blurring the line between in-game mechanics and meta interaction. Central to this environment is a persistent anime-style assistant character who functions as guide, companion, and focal point for much of the content. This character can be customized extensively, with different outfits, accessories, and visual tweaks that give players a sense of personal expression. While this customization is largely cosmetic, it reinforces the game’s emphasis on personal engagement rather than optimization or mastery. Gameplay within Anime And Your Life is intentionally fragmented, offering a collection of mini-systems rather than a single core loop. One of the more structured activities is a card-based strategy game that introduces competitive mechanics and rule-based play into the otherwise freeform experience. This card game contrasts sharply with the rest of the title, demanding planning and tactical thinking, yet it exists alongside far more whimsical features such as simulated applications, abstract utilities, and playful interactive toys. The result is a rhythm that feels exploratory rather than goal-driven, where players drift between activities based on curiosity rather than necessity. Another layer is added through a simplified planetary management feature, allowing players to place structures across a stylized world map. While this suggests the possibility of deeper simulation or long-term strategy, the system functions more as a conceptual experiment than a fully realized management game. Its presence contributes to the sense that Anime And Your Life is a collage of ideas, some lightly sketched and others more fully realized, all coexisting without strict hierarchy. This design philosophy prioritizes novelty and surprise over cohesion. Tonally, the game leans heavily into satire, absurdity, and occasional provocation. Visual gags, unexpected scenarios, and mature humor appear frequently, often without warning or explanation. These elements can feel amusing or jarring depending on player expectations, and they play a significant role in shaping the game’s mixed reception. Anime And Your Life does not attempt to provide emotional grounding or traditional storytelling; instead, it uses shock value, irony, and surreal exaggeration as tools to keep the experience unpredictable. Presentation reflects the game’s experimental nature. The art style is functional rather than polished, with a focus on clarity and expressive character designs over visual refinement. Music and sound elements add flavor and variety, sometimes enhancing immersion and other times feeling like another piece of the game’s eclectic patchwork. Technical roughness is noticeable in places, reinforcing the sense that this is an indie experiment first and a polished product second. Progression in Anime And Your Life is intentionally loose. There are no clearly defined win conditions, and success is largely self-defined. Players who enjoy structured goals, escalating difficulty, or clear feedback loops may struggle to find long-term engagement, while those who enjoy sandbox experiences and abstract interaction may appreciate the freedom. The game rewards time spent exploring its systems rather than mastering them, making curiosity the primary driver rather than skill. Ultimately, Anime And Your Life is best understood as an interactive experiment rather than a conventional game. It thrives on unpredictability, genre-blending, and a willingness to ignore established design norms. While its disjointed structure and uneven depth will not appeal to everyone, it offers a distinctive experience for players who enjoy offbeat indie projects and unconventional digital spaces. For those open to surreal humor, loose structure, and exploratory play, Anime And Your Life provides a strange but memorable journey through a world that feels more like a playful thought experiment than a traditional simulation.
