A short, simple arcade action game. It's fun for what it is and you'll get your money's worth (if you wait for around -70% because it's worth exactly one dollar).
Objectively:
5.7/10
It's 15 mediocre minutes, but Joe deserves the money for making Frumplequest, so I'll let it slide.

this game is the reason why i want to get a 5080 gaming rig. my handheld was struggling with the detailed graphics, so i had some trouble with the platforming! great job Joe, cheers to a great release!
its very NES styled you just eat food and try not to eat bad food its not for me but if you like retro games maybe its for you i luv dog of wisdom but not this game my wisdom: ur choice bro im lowk not going to refund this game cuz i want to support joe (and also i dont know how) also your data doesnt get saved so that sucks i guess
"I need foodis to do this." -Pepper, 2026
This game is really great for short fun, I played it entirely on my Anbernic RG Rotate. (The ROM files are available, so that's great) I also actually gained wisdom about food that dogs cannot eat! Yay! .... But uh, is it intentional that present in the game files, is the ENTIRE source code of the Godot Engine wrapper and some probably important files from GBStudio (I'm not sure, I've never used this engine.) Either way, it's weirdly nice for it to be so open. :) EDIT: So I just made Linux and MacOS build of the games, and it works great lol That is really nice, even tho to be honest it is just the wrapper.
positives: very accurate to old games, even having sprites cutting off when too many are on screen. characters are from dog of wisdom, i guess semi-unique bonus rounds an awesome trailer negatives: literally only 17 minutes long to fully complete, which is quite short for a game thats usually 4 dollars gameplay is like flappy bird but without any mechanics that make you lose, besides bad foods making you lose points (which you can get back by just going in and out of rooms to farm foods) no replayability, score isnt shown at the end. much lower quality compared to trailer honestly, if this game just had a lot more content in it and some mechanics that made you actually lose instead of just making it take longer, it would be one of my favorite games. but right now, it kind of feels like the game was made so that the trailer had a reason to exist, which is a shame since i love retro games and this is really accurate in terms of visuals.
we get da wisdom and bring it back. get da game now thank you joe
