Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'ts ok!
Cautions recommendation It definitely takes time to learn the game [15-25 hours]. Before that it will be a struggle, likely with frustration. While the game has automated systems, with highly customisable settings, referenced as "advisors"; the level of automation can allow the game to essentially play itself, or permit the player to manage micro details of each planet, orbital, ship, individual character. While this can allow you to slowly ease into the game, learn gradually, & only actively play the parts that interest you, I feel that it inadverently handicaps your understanding & skill development within certain areas, due to poor explanation of mechanisms. There is an in game encyclopedia that is meant to help with these detailed systems. Personally I found it vague, compounded by poor tool tipping. After reading several player written guides, & watching video tutorials, I finally felt I grasped & understood the game at ~20 hours. Eventually I came away able to play, & make sound progress, recover from set backs. I would play, without noticing the hours passing, however I am not sure I enjoyed my time playing the game?

spoko
Yet another game where you cannot rebind the NUMPAD. Sorry left-handers. Otherwise a fun 4X. Automating much of the micromanaging makes it a rather fun simulation.
Worthy to be a classic with DLC it take a bit more of micromanagement than regular mainstream grand strategy game if you want to be perfectionnist. In overall it's even designed to be automated so you can play it like idle game (fleet size you may have to change the value for template though). There a con though there only few mods for this game compared to big hit from the other publisher.
I'll give it a thumbs up because, overall, it's a good game. If there weren’t a better alternative out there, I’d probably call this a very good game. But there is an alternative — and it’s better (Stellaris!) Here’s what I liked: - The galaxy generation and customization options are great. - I appreciate the ship design system, but it’s too obscure and lacks proper explanation or documentation. - The concept of a private economy is interesting — I like how mining and trade are handled without too much micromanagement. - However, it doesn’t make much sense for a hive-minded insectoid species to have a private sector at all. There are some great ideas here, but they’re weighed down by significant issues: - Automation works well in some areas, but is completely unreliable in others — especially military movement, defense, and attacks. That’s fine if you want players to handle it manually, but if you offer automation, it needs to work. - The user experience is extremely poor: counterintuitive, confusing, and clunky. Even after 10+ hours, I was still struggling to find the right menus or commands. - Managing more than 50 colonies becomes a nightmare. It’s hard to spot them on the map, let alone your fleets, borders, or even other empires' territory. - Unit icons and UI symbols are messy and unclear. - The races feel bland and unmemorable — plus, you can’t customize them. - Governments are purely cosmetic; they don’t seem to affect gameplay in any meaningful way. - Leaders, generals, characters — the system is very underwhelming and lacks depth. - There’s no clear way to understand your imports/exports or who you're trading with — which is crucial, since the economy and taxation depend heavily on these mechanics. - There are so many different resources, especially luxury ones, that it becomes overwhelming. It’s hard to figure out what’s where on the map. In summary: it’s an okay game, with a lot of potential. But Stellaris is better — even with its issues, like doomstacks and imperfect combat. At least you can manage your empire without going insane trying to track resources or fleets. And yes, Stellaris costs significantly more, but you get what you pay for.
absolut some of my favorite Games
Distant worlds 2 is a space-4x game that offers a unique experience when compared to other Space strategy games like Stellaris. Although Stellaris is superior in almost every way, there are a few key differences that make Distant worlds 2 a refreshing game. For one, war is a lot more organic and gradual and relies a lot more on good supply lines and wearing your enemy down. Compared to Stellaris where you destroy your enemys fleet and effectively from then on it is a foregone conclusion, with some asterisks. Although mechanically there is not a huge amount of dept to certain systems, politics, diplomacy, planet management and exploration, i think the supply and demand economic system / war, is enough for me to enjoy the game, i think it can be a lot better and it has a good base. The Crisis dlc is quite fun and is way more intense and challenging than any of the stellaris crises. Hope the game gets some big mechanic updates and is expands on its weaker areas.
