Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Awesome game. Just be prepared for a steep learning curve in the beginning until you watch enough youtube videos and just dive in and go through your first game figuring things out as you go and realize your 2nd go around that you had no idea what you were doing. Fun as hell though. I hope they continue to add more content and keep this game rolling
Detailed space 4x in a lane of its own!
Another bland Stellaris wannabe
RTX4060m - lowered the settings, only 300 stars and small galaxy, but it will stable crash again and again and again. This needs serious fix. # Edit after 10 more h : deinstalled
think of this as a 'just good enough' thumbs up. The interface still spends its entire time fighting with you, the automation is still often 'why even have this mechanic in game, since automation is worse that just removing it', but it's come a long way since launch, and is actually *playable* now. Looking forward to seeing further improvements in the coming years.
Slow, steady development. Impressive simulation. Good game to play while multi-tasking . . . make sure you are using the "prepare and ..." options sparingly since they take FOREVER to "prepare." With invasion fleets, bring them in last after defenders are gone . . . troop transports are squishy. Be the first to research stuff that private needs (larger passenger/cargo/mining ships, etc.) and then you make tons of money selling ships to private. You almost have to micro colony ships when taking independent colonies . . . they will no longer want to join you by the time your ship finally gets there. It has gotten better since launch. The notifications are more easily customizable in the last patch. I play with the Star Wars them playing from addons . . . CTD before I get to the end game, usually. I keep following/supporting to see what the next update/patch will bring!
It's a shame because the game promised a lot. Also has a lot of potential. Part 1 was great. But Distant Worlds 2 is neither playable nor fun for me. And since other games run wonderfully, I just don't think that the problems come from the PC or me. Very poor performance in the game. Lots of, sometimes strong, lags. Plus lots of crashes in every game I tried. I tried different settings. Always the same drama. And the support...well. Something else is helpful. It's a shame that you can only get your money back on Steam within the strict guidelines. In any case, it will be a lesson for me. Clearly not a purchase recommendation
my empire was under attack by pirats, raised taxes to bulild a navy and lost the game in 3 seconds because the colonists did not like me raising taxes, ♥♥♥♥ this game and the broken Ai
